Civvie 11 - Retro FPS Boomer

There is nothing wrong in shitting on EA indie trash. The indie scene is absolutely infested with those half finished demos that "look like they would be cool when done". When you have to praise the game for stuff like good jumping because it currently has 1 level then you know something isnt right.

Personally i dont have much sympathy for indie devs anymore, if you want your game to stand out just finish it before getting money for it, especially when the game actually has a publisher.

On a side note most of those boomer shooters comming out now are really boring and as a result so are civies videos.

The only three games I remember from the video are the obnoxious one (that should've got a new arsehole from the terrible jumping mechanic), Not-Blood (why should I play it rather than the games it rips-off) and meme anime joke. And only the latter might be worthwhile with the wall of death mechanic.

Btw that last video is boring. No, seriously, it is. I feel like the spirit of what made his video entertaining is just barely there. It dies.
Or maybe civvie's humour become quite... ahem, casual. And thus, not entertaining at all.

I went to look at his twitter and it says he's only 20. Let's hope he doesn't do anything irreversible to himself and just changes his mind sooner than later. But if he's on discord then chances for that are slim.

Guys in "creative" areas like music, particularly in "retro" environments, have been trooning out in droves lately. Give it a year or two and it'll be almost impossible to find a guy who's actually fine with being called a guy in that community.

Civvie does much better when he's talking about games he likes, or at the very least respects. He clearly had no interest in OpFor or Blue Shift, partially because he really doesn't like Gearbox (insert Randy joke here) but mostly because they're just not that good to begin with. Civvie is one of those youtubers who just sounds flat when he's not passionate about what he's talking about, so he really should just stick to games he enjoyed playing. Youtube already has more than enough whiny retro game reviewers and we don't need him to be another one.

Well, his videos have become just abridged lets plays as of late, but in addition every new one is more and more "by the numbers". I think its a race between him running out of material to cover and running out of patience for making YT CoNtEnT.
Everyone will watch the videos anyway, and the patreon money will keep flowing so why care.

I'd agree with you but he have some real good stuff about stuff he do not like at all.
And I speaking about TekWar (classics, huh), about Island Peril (can't believe I still want to revive that shit trough gzdoom, along with Fortress of Dr. Radiaki...), Alpha Prime, Alien: Ressurection, DN: Forever... I mean, he can be real fun to watch, it does not depend on what game he plays, really. It's all about script and effort he pulls in.
And with each new video it starts to be obvious that he's either tired of this or need a damn break from FPS and switch on, say... hm, RTS? Actually I'd like to see some of these.

I wish he talked more about the new weapons because they were the best thing about Opposing Force. Also wtf no Ross cameo, especially in the Blue Shift part where we see Freemen arriving.

Speaking of which, even if we are to believe he sounds tired (unless that's the point of his schtick as you have YouTubers play up that type of persona), he can always do a Thief sequel as that isn't an FPS. I frankly cannot see him covering an RTS...maybe a 1st person RPG in the Might&Magic type gear.

Speaking of Blue Shitft Apparently the dreamcast port of half life that Blue Shift was meantt to debut witth was actually completed and even managed to get a few review copies out before it was shelved
