I think he downplayed how awesome Opfor really is. I mean, I beat that sucker a dozen times and it's still good.

To this day I still think OpFor is Half Life but better. More enemy variety, more guns, more unique locations, further dives into how Black Mesa ticks...

Blue Shift totally should of had the same effort put into it like OpFor. A shame we never got that chance.

Oh, and Adrian Shepard looks and does more cool things than Gordon does. My man fights not just one, but TWO alien races AND a black ops detatchment, and MAKES IT OUT ALIVE. Shepard is a fucking boss.

The sheer level of stuff this game throws at you is great. Just don't play it on hard, I believe normal is the most balanced out difficulty.

He made it look a bit worse than it is because Randy, and because the Steam version is a bit broken compared to the original WON release, a lot of GoldSrc games got buggier when they got a Steam release.

Yeah I felt the same way. He sounded bored in this video and it lacked energy. Unsure if the shtick is wearing thin or he just doesn't like these games as much but not one of his better videos in my opinion. Another culprit might be the decision to play it on hard, which seems unnecessarily masochistic. It's not Quake or Doom, there's no point going beyond Normal.

Regarding Katie: I just figured he is making enough cyber-shekels to be able to hire an editor and actually focus on playing games and making content, something not uncommon for bigger YouTubers that can afford it.
 
He definitely did not like The Half life expansions and shat out a lot of vitriol towards half life in general for no reason. At least he warned us to not be a "masochistic idiot like him. Its just not worth it" Blue shift and Decay Blueshift part 2 were awful.

I liked decay but I think that was rose tinted glasses. I started smoking weed around that time. Me and a high school chum would get baked and play the fuck out of it. Blue Shift, however, was always shit.

Hedon is actually a competent game. One of the best in the "look at me, I'm 2.5D!" crop, for sure. There's good weapon variety, the enemies aren't too obnoxious, and the art style isn't so clogged with bright colors and particle effects that it makes my eyes bleed. Whether or not the creator is a coomer, I'd recommend it over most games in the genre.
