this failure with the xbox series x is reminding me of when he got that modded 3ds so he could record from it. Hyped it up as something new and original only for it to quickly fizzle out in viewership (gave us the infamous "my viewers are lazy" line and many similar rants during layton vs wight).

I dont even understand his fixation on youtube/twitch checks coming sometime in the future- you've been doing this for over a decade, after 1 month you should have been able to get your finances caught up and be able to use the monthly check to pay your bills. Nobody needs money every single day to pay bills, we all plan our finances around whenever our periodic paychecks arrive. He pretends this money doesn't even exist since he doesn't get it today.

Absolutely. At a certain point (last year? the year before?) Phil started using the plea: "Guys, the Twitch check comes in 3 weeks and I have bills to pay this week, so I need Paypal tips that I can bank immediately."

This plea was only logical for 1 emergency month. After that month, Phil had enough time to promote memberships and subs - rather than Paypal tips - so that the next Twitch check is healthy enough to pay for the next round of bills.

Yet Phil kept begging for Paypal tips month after month until it became a permanent fixture. Is he so demented that he truly doesn't understand the lack of logic here? Unlikely. Phil knows what he's doing.

Twitch rules say that the streamer is not allowed to call Bits money -- not allowed to suggest that Bits help financially. That's a problem for Phil, because his entire business model is based on crying financial distress. Paypal helps him beg better.

(Not sure if Youtube Superchats have the same rules, but you know how inflexible he is.)

Imagine if he got more in super chats then tips during the marathon. :story:
He opened the door for it by accusing people of going the superchat route simply out of spite. He really doesn't understand that on top of showing no appreciation, he's exposing how things really work on his streams: tips are mandatory. When Phil says he needs that money, you tip him, and any other method of giving him money is grounds for being berated.

Even the retards are noticing this, and Phil just made it even worse. His begathon this weekend is going to be spicy, and he might actually crack even harder.

Oh, and about the supposed tips goal of Saturday's Fundbegging Marathon... Let's use some fun facts to come up with a possible and realistic amount, shall we?

  • DSP himself claimed he needs $150 per stream to be able to have a an income comparable to when he was streaming on Twitch
  • so, in his own words, if he hits $150 per stream on average, it's enough to get him through the month
  • since adding the $150 tips on July 22nd, DSP streamed 35 times and received at least $4.819 in tips up until yesterday (when he green-lit the marathon)
  • that makes $137 per stream on average, so only(!) $13 below the average tips goal
  • so, realistically speaking, this means that DSP "missed out" on $13 x 35 streams = $455 in total

And this is where it gets interesting, because $455 for doing a marathon is "only" $155 above the $300 he expects on a normal day (2 x $150). I find it VERY hard to believe he'll set up a tips goals that's only $150 above the $300 daily goal, because that would mean he has been crying wolf all week about being roughly $150 short on paying his mortgage, which is money one or two of his sad and lonely whales are able to cough up at any random point in time during a regular stream.

So IF he sets up a goal that's (substantially) higher than $500, he once again upped the ante and basically retconned his own explanation on what amount of money he needs to get through the month.

Wasn’t the “people are lazy” rant at the end of a Pokémon Moon stream?

the pigroach is the worst teammate you can have on you team when playing l4d. absolutely zero help for his teammates. only looking out for himself.

He might as well just send the bills now to OIC and somehow it will be paid by One Minute Man, Bobbajo, and Chris the next day

What a sad state of a stream. Not only was this stream carried by 1-3 or just 1 whale with different aliases - he also was not able to bait regulars into tipping the rest to reach the vest goal. Maybe his viewership has finally wised up.

I am interested on the effects we will see in the spreadsheet after he raised the minimum tip. Maybe the flood of $1 tips really will go away and the little paypigs learned.

"This game is a mixed bag." - Phil talking about most games

"it's not bad, it's not great" - Phil talking about Back 4 Blood

Mixed bag/10
I guess I would fence-sit too if every time I claimed to love something I inevitably betrayed my complete ignorance of it thereby making myself out to be a lying liar who lies. Better to just be noncommittal about everything when you’re a joyless husk living a pointless life of beg-lie-berate-consoom-repeat.

phil is that obnoxious shit head that runs to reddit to shit on a game cause there was a bug in a beta crying how it feels unfinished which isn't really surprising.

I'm sure he's also the same kind of shit head since a few pages back it came up what would happen if he played an mmo, who will shit on a community manager acting like they're the developers crying that the art team doing something is wasting resources that should be used to fix bugs.

Phil in an mmo would be a WoW LFR hero, everyone else sucks at the game but him, everyone in LFR sucks. Won't research his class, won't get addons, won't move out of easily avoidable damage. Like BBW "run away little girl" easy to avoid shit.

Try to help him and you'll get the "it's my $15/mo I'll play how I want" attitude which tbf is pretty much what wow, hots and ow have regressed to.

That XBOX SERIES X was a STELLAR investment. All of the gamepass HYPE has brought in a MASSIVE amount of new viewers. The only problem was that people were too CHILL to tip. I really need help this week to pay my MORTGAGE, and we haven't been hitting the cult cash goal enough. Now upping vids to DSPGayming.
