I have a few disagreements with Trump's policy, but as a whole Trump was a shockingly competent president who proved to have significantly powerful chops with economic and foreign diplomacy policy. His internal diplomacy could use some work, but a lot of my issues with him ended up being "He needed more experience". And this comes from someone who voted for him through gritted teeth the first time simply because Clinton was way more likely to start a war.

Yeah alot of people I know who voted for him just because they hated Clinton like my father would later go on to enjoy his policies and liked him as president.

I will say despite his opponents always bringing up the times he had to file for bankruptcy with his business. They ignore the fact that he was able to bring them back each time.

On paper, to disinterested DNC staffers who are reading half-assed dossiers and scrolling twitter instead of ever leaving their offices to do actual research, she's Obama on steroids. You can slam criticism of her as sexist as well as racist, she'll do whatever's on the agenda for power, and even if CA will go for Bernie for some reason, she's got a history of popularity there. In their cynical minds, if she can just muster a folksy persona and answer lowball questions from a lickspittle press room, she'll usher in the new Democrat hegemony, because voters are goldfish-brained morons and creating the Stunning and Brave version of Obama is all it takes. .

And then they have to actually put her in office only to find that a) she does not attract the cult of personality that took over both the Democrat base and the media during the Obama years, b) voters haven't forgotten the downsides of the Obama years, and c) she has more of a Hillary Cackle than an Obama Smile.

I expect they wrote off the poor primary campaign as solely being because of Bernie Bros siphoning away her votes and just expected everyone to fall in line. Her stat sheet was too good, there's no way they were missing some key element that made her unfit, even if a normal person could've gleamed it from any given reaction she had to non-scripted interviews.
