Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Kicking him off social media was arguably the worst decision Facebook and Twitter made. Trump's constant tweeting made it easy to drive headlines and squeeze hours of media coverage (remember covfefe?), but now? Anything the guy says outside of speeches is reserved (for him) and likely run through an aide or two for sanitation purposes. Media has little to use, they're stuck talking about previous events or people indirectly tied to Trump. And when speeches like this happen they have to ignore it because paying attention would give the game away after spending so long repeating how America never has to suffer Trump again.

I'd honestly feel sorry if this constant foot in mouth behaviour wasn't so damn funny.

No, because the media isn't obligated to give them a space to speak. Remember, the first amendment is there to restrain the government (i.e. Congress) not the proverbial "private companies".

Arguably not getting Trump elected again was the worst decision they ever made. Without Trump the subscriptions have dried up. Their power is waning as people turn off the channel. Whatever credibility they have left is going to evaporate as Biden's disintegration accelerates.

They could have rode out the populist wave but instead decided to try and block it. I think this has put them in the worst possible position because everything is clearly not going their way.

People would have been tired of Trump had he won and finished his term in 2024. It would have guaranteed a democrat win in 2024.

Instead they fucked over Trump and his voters in the worst way possible, exposed the traitors within the GOP, DeSantis challenging Biden and finally folks fighting at the local and state levels against democrats.
