That is probably also why many HSTS were able to quite freely move in a lot of female spaces, even legally female-only ones, before the TRA movement took off. Even if they were clocked as technically male, they just didn't ring predator bells.
Definitely this, in large part. (That was a good post, btw; the ways in which you described male tag-alongs at women’s nights, everything. Made me think of some pertinent things.
Mainly, that transsexuals were better off before TRA’s ruined it. This has happened steadily, over the course of 20 years, more, maybe closer to 30.
Hard fact: Women had a lovely kind of
tacit agreement with certain tranny’s of old. Even going back to the 70’s, 80’s, was still there in the 90’s & very early aughts. The tolerance given to certain transsexuals, what we call HSTS ones, in thread. Men who really wanted to pass, who’d never creep on women, tacit agreements were a part of the cultural make-up. They could “safely” pee, & used this tacit agreement wisely enough. It was a quiet thing, not an often spoken one, & predators weren’t privy, really. Mainly, there was no push for the “right” because it doesn’t fucking exist. We all knew. All. Can’t change sex, yo.
Then wild TRA’s organize, tumblr creates flags, finalized after the last Gay Civil Right was won, marriage, in 2008. Those tumblr flags & flavors were in development in the mid-aughts, finalized by about 2010. Never have they been accepted widely, but I’m digressing too far, if I don’t stop this train of thought here, I’ll go off on the “
progress” flag, (new awful flag dominated by troon shit w/ a new, purple glory-hole added this year.)
Anyway.
The era of the tacit agreement is long dead now. Tranny’s of old are very different from troons. Troons ruined it for transsexuals, (they even barred the word “transsexual” as “hate”) as well as others, whom we discuss here often. Women & men.
The HSTS that speaks against creepfest troons, but still get angry at misgendering, are simply just protecting their shaky house of cards to begin with.
Hard agree. This also, is in part due to TRA influence, & the creation of “trans” & the troons that developed because of it.
Anger at “misgendering” was not a thing in OG Tranny culture. Not a lot of people know, or talk about it now, (for obvious reasons) though they could. If they did, it might help, but, I think we are
way past that point.
So, Tranny’s used to “earn” their pronouns. It was a special thing, something you told your close friends, “I got
she’d today!” Or “..and then he called me Ma’am at the check-out….” Etc. First time getting called a womanish word, equaled an “earned pronoun.” There were a few other, community minded ways one could also achieve this, but, I don’t want to write a novel atm. I did a better write-up of this over on the Billy LaBelle Assigned Male thread, months ago.
This demanding of “preferred” pronouns & language/ plus thought policing, is the antithesis of the origin. A cheap, ripped-off, bastardized version, of something that was particular to a small subculture.
Any HSTS demanding pronouns ain’t no classic OG Tranny, who’d simply live, let live, or even a very cool person, at all. It is a house of cards indeed. Language & thought police can bite it. Troons do that shit. Now, kids do it too. Turned it from a gift given, into a demand/ fad bs piece of crap.

I thought the whole reason that women are expected to let these troons into their bathrooms was because they just “want blend in with their chosen gender, honest.” And then they go and basically tattoo “tranny” not once but twice on their arm.

Exactly. There already existed a culture of the “safe pee” before. The agreement, which could only be tacit, as women are women, men are men, clothes, skirts, & lippy are just stuff. Gender as religion, as presented by certain TRA’s brainwashing & grifting, hadn’t cashed in yet, & ruined it.
Nowadays however, we all know the answer, we are beyond the cultural norms of yesteryear.
