Papa Franku's the best, but holy fuck, was that fucking Harlem Shit annoying as hell. I bet even he regrets making that one video.

The guy who makes Filthy Frank, from what I heard, does indeed regret it and ignores people that ask him about the Harlem Shake, so you're not far off from that.

I so agree about rant/commentary videos. Those are just painful to watch. I also did a few bad Pivot animations and YouTube Poop (which I since deleted from the internet). Another Youtube fad I don't get is these over-the-top reaction videos like this (some of my friends go crazy over these):

Oh yes, those. I spent many an hour laughing my ass off at how dumb these videos are.

Though admittedly, I can't tell how many of these outbursts are real, or staged.

The cringe compilation nonsense is sometimes funny but I can only take so much human stupidity until it becomes nothing but cringe.

I think they're staged, like the infamous rage video where the guy tries to shove a remote up his ass.

Then again, I could be wrong.

The whole WoW-Addiction was a tired/forced meme when it was 'relevant', so I think it was an attempt to be funny rather than a legitimate meltdown. Although people do freak out like this over the dumbest shit like not getting a cheese sandwich.

I believe there was a video on YouTube involving some aspiring 'College Football Champion' staying up until 3 AM playing World of Warcraft when he had an exam that very same day. I know it was likely acted out but it was funnier than that, if just barely.

Also Angry grandpa is legitimately bi polar, and hiss first video was around 2007 so it's kind of like he started the trend.

Taking audio from comedians or random comedy shows and putting them over random anime clips. These were really popular with weeaboos a few years back. When done well they can be sort of funny, but most of them are just this:

Apparently, there's a similar phenomena in MMD ("MikuMikuDance"). Some are good, but a lot are similar to that clip. And it's not just on YT.

I'm not sure if it's a fad, but I've noticed a dramatic uptick in the number of vids about the Darknet/Deep Web/Whatever else someone wants to call it over the past few months.

And nearly all of them are "OH SUPER SCARY DON'T GO I SAW SOMEONE GET MURDERED LIVE HONEST" or some shit like that.

I find the lack of no-commentary gameplay videos disturbing. I don't want to hear some Xanax-Popping hipster beatbox over their score or (insert impossible feat).

The only videos I really can't stand are the Youtube Reacts videos.

Watching other people on youtube reacting to something they're watching on youtube has got to be the stupidest fad ever.
