Plus, every war the US has fought since the Civil War has not been on home territory. The logistics chains inside the US are terrible. A lot of stuff is manufactured overseas, and there's a lot of distributed manufacturing models nowadays.
Hell, the US Army couldn't hold Fort Hood, much less Baltimore, for longer than a week if supplies were cut off.
Those tanks, jets, helicopters, require massive amounts of fuel and parts. Ammunition doesn't appear from nowhere. Fuel doesn't magically appear. You can't just drive a tank division across several states, they have to be moved by rail, ship, or one/two at a time via C5 Galaxy.
That doesn't even take into account the shit condition of the US's infrastructure. I wanna see a company of tanks try to cross a bridge in any major metropolitan area, that should be fucking hilarious.
That doesn't even take into account RoE, who's authorized to make arrests, who's authorized to search people, who's going to do the authorization to have people's homes barged into.
Plus, how do you think the American people would react to martial law, curfews, and military checkpoints? Who do you think they'll REALLY blame?
