Imagine what a chad Boogie could have been like if he were actually a fat jolly nice guy pacifist and invited Frank in, demanded he and his cameraman buddy take 10AM shots, and said all the murder talk was just internet shtick and he knew it. Considering all the "we only call cops to pick up the bodies" shit he spouted prior it's the only way I can think he could have gotten out of the situation without looking like a pussy, retard, or felon.

In many cases, the full amount of bail is merely what you have to pay if you don't show up to the ensuing court proceedings. See Also: PR Bond.

It might seem odd to you, but recall that getting arrested merely means that you've been charged with a crime - not that you are guilty of one. It wouldn't be fair for innocent persons to have to pay thousands of dollars to avoid undeserved time in jail.

Maybe I'm wrong but I understand it to work like this: if you have the cash you can put up 100% of the bail and you would get that back if you don't violate your bail conditions.

If you can't afford it you can pay a bondsman to cover your bail for you. You pay him 10% and he covers your bail for you. The 10% is his service fee so you never get that back. If you violate bail, now you owe the bondsman what he put up plus whatever other penalties the State will allow the bondsman to impose.

The amount set for bail is about risk, not ability to pay. So this way the option is there for people who can't afford their bail.

America is complicated. In the UK we just have officers and warrant officers. You fuckers have bounty hunters, sheriffs, cops, niggers and all kinds of stuff.
 
Boogie is obese and nobody in the county jail would've wanted to have sex with him if he had to stay there.

Anyway, I noticed some people up the thread saying you don't get bond if it's murder. I don't think that's the case - I'm pretty sure I've seen bail set for those charged with murder, manslaughter, etc. but it's always an exorbitant amount.

ETA: I went back and checked a recent manslaughter arrest and charge in my area and the bond was $500K.
