This is what I think. I'm not a porn expert or a psychologist and I don't play one on TV, but my first thought when I saw Tomb Raider's post was 'humiliation'. A thought that has been plaguing me recently is what is going to happen to the kids and teenagers currently part of this shit? With Hippies, there was no internet to constantly track your every move and when you grew up, you could realistically hide your autistic past and have a real job 10~15 years after the fact and become a yuppie. But the young'uns riding this wave are extremely vocal in their support, and they don't think far enough ahead to keep their internet lives private. At best, a lucky few who didn't get surgery will be able to delete their old posts and accounts and lead normal lives, but for the vast majority their involvement in a movement synonymous with mental illness and toxic behavior will be hanging over their heads forever. Those who did transition will have it worse, since they will have their bodies forever destroyed by their bad decisions, and never have kids. It's possible a whole other government program will have to be started up, where taxpayers have to give up their hard earned money to give these fuck-ups help finding places to live and hold steady jobs.

Why did I have to grow up during this shitstorm and not after?

Ehh, for most of them it’s going to be like growing up in 2006, calling yourself Kiki Kannibal, and teasing your poorly dyed black hair to high heaven while wearing too many raver bracelets.
