Few hours late, but per FL state law you'd have been within your rights and depending on what county, it'd have been ruled a good shoot. I remember a decade or so ago in my CCW class in FL, the instructor used an example of a dude blowing away a guy through his front door with a shotgun and it was ruled a good shoot because the deceased was trying to force access to the house. Granted, circumstances in the boogie case are a little different, but if he's the only one alive to tell the tale, who's to say Frank didn't try to force his way in?

This warning shot thing isn't complicated. If you had time and opportunity to pull a gun, discharge it, miss on purpose, and survive the encounter unharmed, you weren't in enough danger to justify pulling out a gun, let alone firing live rounds in a residential area. Frank Hassle is a complete tool and everything wrong with the internet personified, but he was being a massive dick, not a threat to Boogie's life.

Question to those who know about such things - if Boogie was illegally using someone else's weapon, and was not allowed under Arkansas law to possess a firearm, why is he not facing weapons charges as well? Might that come later, or do the prosecutors think that the assault charge is more likely to stick?

5-2-607. Use of deadly physical force in defense of a person.

(a) A person is justified in using deadly physical force upon another person if the person reasonably believes that the other person is:

The rest of the statute is fairly middle of the road castle doctrine, in that if someone is actually trying to force their way into the house, you are generally entitled to reasonable fear. So if Frank had started trying to bash in the door with his gunt, he could probably have shot him through the door. If he had just knocked on the door? He could have told him to fuck off and called the cops.

It seems mutts think that assrape and getting stabbed in prison is a part of the sentencing and even justice.
