The fact that literally every single reply to JK's tweets are stupid tranny memes and "FUCK OFF TERF", and yet she keeps barrelling through and ignoring and tweeting like it ain't not thing is king shit.
 
Why are FtMs so... doughy? Every Aiden I see in this thread has a total dearth of sharp angles or muscle definition. Are they fattening themselves up on purpose to hide their female bone structure? Women have naturally higher body fat than men - does the T shift that fat to unfortunate places?

There are some skinny ones out there - I suspect a lot of the new teenage FtM troons actually have comorbid eating disorders. The skinny ones are classic anorexics and the fat ones are emotional binge eaters. Both types are attracted to T because they idolise a lower body fat percentage (women can’t get as low a body fat percentage as men because we are biologically determined to keep some extra in reserve for maintaining a pregnancy in a famine - and no, identifying as ‘child free for life’ doesn’t mean you get to drop the extra ballast).

If you get into the weeds on the largely useless puberty blocker studies, you can see that GnRHas appear to affect boys and girls differently (like many drugs) and the girls (actual girls) are more likely to experience weight gain and depression. Boys just get stuck with a microdick (and both are higher risk for decreased bone density and possibly an 8-10 point IQ drop)

As someone from Thailand, I feel like this information is not as straightforward.

I'd say that the word 'kathoey' has gone through different periods, wheter it is seen as just descriptive, or pejorative. Thai cuture, in general, compared to the western world, focused less on the semantics and definitive meaning of words. And word-policing or political correctness barely cross most people mind until the invasion of Twitter wokies in the last few years.

If the intention of the speaker of the word kathoey, is discriminating, they would see it as pejorative. And the common discrimination would also come from the insulter ideas that they're failed men and deviants that are not worthy on their own. But it is also very common for kathoeys (and femme gays) to refer themselves with that word. The word itself can range from effeminate gays who would never go through any medical transition, to the one who tried to 'pass', getting hormones and surgeries. A lot of our effiminate gay men also tend to use feminine 1st-person pronouns and accessory words, and call each other with feminine-leaning pronouns out of endearment - without it being their 'true identity'. (Many butch lesbians are also acquainted to referring themselves in masculine 1st person pronouns, too.) Thai pronouns are not strictly coded into the grammar as European languages. We many pronouns, the usage of them are relative and situation dependent, from the age, hierarchy, social class, formality, closeness and situation of the speakers. gender-suggestive pronouns usage is also not coded in stone, but rather relative to the situation as well.

Since pronouns are situational, and everyone will be referred to as different pronouns throughout their life, both 2nd and 3rd person - you can't make one an identity. Except the King and royal family, which they will have a special set of pronouns and vocabulary that are coined specifically refer to them. (Though most common people started to get sick of them recently, too. And we'd talk about them with peasants pronouns in private occasion)

It seem more common to me for masculine gay men to be offended by being called kathoey. As it is questioning their masculinity - than transsexuals/kathoeys/ladyboys to be offended by not being seen as 'real women'. They seem to see their level of 'woman identity' to a lesser degree than western HSTS, even. Though It's certain that they don't want to be seen as having the appearance of 'men' or having manly quality, and want to achieve feminine beauty.

Many of them come to oppose the idea of gender-ID in legal documents when it is suggested to them (This is not yet implemented in Thailand) as they see it to not be reflective of the reality of being male-bodied. The word 'second type woman', also has a suggestive tone that they're not like actual women. But rather its own form of achieved femininity similar to what you have described above. They can easily accept that their bodies are male even if they pass better than 98% of the sideshow examples posted here.

I don't think most people in Thailand see them as 'men' in social, gender role sense, but they also don't see them as women either... they're more of a third gender. They would be offended if you're just calling them 'men in dress' (in the autistic sense you suggested) - as it suggests that they're just deviants, while ignoring the more feminine social and sexual role they play in. It should also be noted that with Thailand. Now it is practically impossible for ladyboys to be passing in traditional sense, as in 'you couldn't tell', because there are so many of them that it becomes a common expectations, and that people have seen them often enough to clock them. Though people respect the prettier and well-groomed ones more.

I can't speak for all of them I'm sure there might be some that would get offended being seen as a kind of men at all and want to see that they achieved womanhood. But there are many that don't.

Imo, legal affirmation of gender identity (and protestant cultural autism) in western countries are, to me, a culprit of a lot of insanity we see here. Legal fictions that pertains to identity seem to create a whole host of issues regarding mental flexibility. Adoptive parents and children in America, whose allow for birth certificate amendment and legal-lies that they're 'no different from biological children', seem to have their own host of denialism and identity issues. Many couldn't settle with the concept that that a kid can be raised and given care off by people who are not 'mother and father'. They need to be called a certain name to feel that their adopted child rearing effort is real. This mentality is no different from gender validation.

I must admit those things allows for the effective managements of population - but it is also a very stifling way to live.

this is so ridiculous. having the right genitals is a necessary requirement for attraction, not an automatic guarantee of attraction.

in this specific case: lots of straight men would probably be attracted to "pre op trans men" on a physical level, because physically they're just women. but once you look further than "ooga booga me see girl me get horny" and start looking at all the insanity that is going on in a 'trans man' mind, that's what immediately kills the attraction and makes you stay far away.

Slightly off topic but why is it always males who become tragic NEETs? I've known a few females who did but always had a reason. For most it was early pregnancy, they couldn't finish school and parents help pay for for and care for their kid. For the childless ones, I know one who was sexually abused and has PTSD to the point she had to quit her job. The other... admittedly, she's like a male one. No real excuse except being fat and depressed. Tried to sell her art online, it sucks though. Also identifies as "agender". I should post her in the personal lolcows thread.

With the males, it's usually being a friendless depressed sperg, no history of abuse or substance use, and the parents feel bad so allow them to NEET.

Women are way less likely to be severely autistic. Awkward women will still have awkward friends. Also, women are more inclined to want to please their parents, as well as enjoying academic success for its own reward. So they’re more likely to have a degree, and more likely to be motivated enough to make mom and dad happy to get a secretary job and live with three other awkward girls. Also, I blame the parents for not having expectations for their sons.

There are non-doughy FTMs. Buck Angel isn’t doughy. But yes, T gives them more of a male pattern fat distribution. Also, a lot of FTMs don’t want to be male, they want to be not female. If they started lifting weights while on T, they would be muscular in a distinctively male way, and they don’t want that. Also, lazy.

Trannies want to be seen as the sex they're LARPing as. If a straight man refuses to date an MtF it means he doesn't see the troon as a real woman (which he isn't). There is probably an evolutionary biological explanation for why the vast majority of humans are sexually disinterested in people whose primary and secondary sex characteristics don’t match - in purely mammalian mating terms, it would likely indicate that the person isn’t reproductively healthy?

The small group of people who ARE attracted to a mix of primary and secondary characteristics are widely derided by pretty much everyone, including tranners themselves (ie tranny chasers, aka GAMPs -people, mostly men, with a paraphilia known as ‘Gynandromorphophilia’ - these dudes are statistically likely to also have AGP and thus eventually troon out themselves).

To make this a crossover episode with Deepland’s post about Ladyboys on the previous page, chasers are extremely well represented amongst the western sex tourists who specifically travel to Thailand and other nearby countries with similar third gender traditions for femme-y men, in order to buy sex from ladyboys. Why ladyboys tolerate chasers in a way that western trannies do not, I presume is part cultural, but largely economic?

Anyway, I agree that Thailand seems to manage troonism in a more practical way, normies don’t pay much attention, and not having the ability to change legal sex keeps the troon delusions in check and stops them being a menace to women and/or demanding language and society be completely remade to suit them instead of everyone else.

I don’t think you can really compare current day western HSTS and ladyboys because of the massive societal and cultural differences, but I think the foundational motivations for trooning are probably the same, and they exhibit broadly similar behaviour as (being GNC from early childhood, preferring straight-seeming men to gay men, wanting to fulfil a stereotypical female role in a hetero-looking relationship, ie being a ‘bottom’, a home maker, submissive etc. They’d probably make good Mormons in a weird parallel universe...)

Fleming says that the majority of Ladyboys are HSTS types, but that AGPs still exist in Asia, and those AGPs often play the role of ‘house mother’ or ‘brothel keeper’ and are often sexually predatory to the younger, newly out ladyboys. I don’t know how true that is but I have definitely read reports of AGPs in trans support groups being predatory towards HSTS (and the weird new young AGPs) and even towards young FtMs. That’s the GAMP/AGP co existing again, I guess?

I vaguely remember Fleming saying something about how mothers in the region are generally pretty accepting of their sons growing up to be ladyboys, but I don’t know if that’s true or not? He says it’s because ladyboys don’t have children so have time to look after mum when she gets old - I wondered if that’s part of the homosexuality and birth order thing (a boy with multiple older brothers is supposedly more likely to be gay https://www.pnas.org/content/115/2/234 ) and that women who already have multiple sons are less likely to care/worry if the youngest one turns out GNC, because she’s either already had her fill of masculinity/has boys to contribute to physical labour and earn money/is pretty much already guaranteed grandbabies? But I’m just a spergy British shut in, so what do I know about mothers in Thailand? Suspect regional and class differences also play into it (I think my one Thai friend is probably a lot posher than average).
