I have a ton of friends in the humanities who swear by Butler and almost feel personally insulted when I call out her bullshit. What I do try to tell them is that I am less interested in Butler than in the way her "work" is being used by a new generation of genderspecials.

She's pervasive these days, along with Foucault and the other kiddie diddlers, at least if you're going through any kind of education related to the arts not to mention social sciences and education. For someone so invested in breaking boundaries, it's also really ironic that her writings are the new mainstream. "Queering queer theory" is the paper I am waiting for. Then we've come full circle.

At any rate, she seems like such an overvalued person - reading interviews with her, I get the impression that she's kind of intellectually lazy, to be honest. And I don't think I've ever seen her respond in good faith to the many, many, many criticisms leveled at her.

This is just about the average teenage Twitter or Tumblr user. They all have these "carrds" with 10,000 words on them describing everything from their alphabet soup pronouns to their favourite flavour ice cream (and how they like to fuck themselves with it). The whole ridiculous list of triggers and "do not interract if..." sends my sides into orbit. I can't wait for these tweens to enter the real world.

I was thinking of this just the other day. I was an early internet adopter (compared to normies at least) and was balls deep into the whole Win95 / Netscape Navigator / dial-up scene. Fucking loved hittin' dat Information Superhighway and surfin' dat World Wide Web. And it was understood by everyone -- everyone -- that you did not fuck around with personal information online. Whenever I was hit with an "A/S/L?" on mIRC or whatever I would tell the questioning party that I lived in........ America. I remember building my first personal website (some Geocities shit) and I included an "About Me" page. Again, it was pretty vague, but after agonizing over the decision for days I included a picture of myself..... I was wearing a hat in the pic, it was a scanned photograph, shrunk to 100x100 pixels, and blurry as ass. Still, I felt like I maybe ended up revealing too much about myself and eventually removed the pic.

Hell, it's easy to forget that some of the first websites dedicated to sperging and ranting (think Livejournal and so on) were still constructed with anonymity in mind. Users were mainly identified by fictional handles and the most personal of written pieces were delegated as being "friends only" and so forth.

But today -- HOLY SHIT. You have people like Kevin Gibes, for example, who have zero hesitation about posting their most insane, perverted, and intimate fantasies in complete public view, on webpages that also contain their photographs and contact information. And, as noted, these freaks are grooming children who have zero concept of internet security. How did this happen? It's a combination of rapidly-advancing technology (it's now patently easier to share information) coupled with rapidly-changing cultural values. "Woke" globalist liberal trash ideology continues to ramp up with no signs of stopping. Those who don't sperg out on the internet are now treated with suspicion. After all, isn't it "liberating" to post images of your "girldick" online upon turning 18? And so on.

Good parents need to teach their kids 'net security. I've tried my best here. And as a based boomer I have a "content blocker" installed on the "family computer" we all share in the office. Keeping kids safe takes dedication and time, but it remains one of the primary roles of parents.

(Not to get too far off topic, but any youngcels who are interested in the culture of the "early internet" and would rather hear about it from a "regular person" instead of a soyed-up "nostalgia" weirdo, I highly recommend Dave Barry in Cyberspace. It's funny as shit and you can get it used for like one dollar).

Problem with controlling kid's internet too tightly is that they'll learn to evade your controls and then you lose any input over what they do.

Not that parents should give up entirely, that's retarded. But it feels like something that requires finesse.
