i don't know why, but i'm really finding this whole hitchbot american journey pretty hilarious

Last summer hitchbot hitchhiked across Canada from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Victoria, British Columbia. In just 26 days he hitched a total of 19 rides and travelled over 10,000 kilometers

The robot that quickly thumbed its way across Canada last summer is finding on its latest travels in the United States slow going — only two confirmed rides since it stuck its rubber thumb out in Salem, Mass., on July 17.

Yes, it seems hitchBOT has something in common with fellow hitchhikers: it’s at the mercy of whoever picks it up. These early days of its cross-continent trip — its ultimate destination is San Francisco — have seen it stuck on the scenic route.

A digital map on the hitchBOT website shows it went northeast from Salem toward Gloucester, Mass., then far out into the Atlantic.

The point is that it made it across Canada in under a month while in America for a week, it couldn't get out of the state it started in and somehow ended up in the Atlantic Ocean.
Maybe rushing from one side to the other's okay with heathen Canadia, but here in GOD'S US of A we have things a robot needs to relax and take its time to appreciate!

Nice priorities, America. You destroy a lovable robot when it tries to hitchhike to San Francisco, but Jordman and ADF get there unscathed.

For shame.

wow, that says a lot about american people
oh hey i found something
LETS KILL IT

Now I hope Japan kicks their asses at the giant robot battle. Just to teach them a lesson.

But man, that's low. But considering the high death rate in America, I can't say I'm not surprised it happened. Still gives me less of a reason to go to there.

Sad, but seeing as it was in philly I have a pretty good idea who did this

I brought in one guy for questioning, but his alibi was air tight, he was with family out of state at the time.
