Null actually pointed this out in one of his streams. The reason tech/gaming companies have so many trannies is because they are usually autistic and thus tend to have programming/tech skills that are valuable to the company. Secondly they count as a sexual minority so it often ticks a lot of boxes for companies who have a required diversity hiring process. Lastly because they are OBVIOUSLY not real women they can't get pregnant and no one actually wants to be around them because they are usually insufferable. On paper they sound like the perfect workers, but mileage may vary.

While I have enjoyed my time in this thread I have noticed that it is getting worryingly intolerant of sexism and chauvinistic remarks.

do we really want to live in a world where we can't make fun of people who feel the need to wear dresses, make up, bitch all day and make everything about them selves if they don't have a Y chromosome?

The real explanation for no women in top levels of gaming is the same as for chess. A person needs to achieve a sweet spot in testosterone, serotonin, autism, intelligence, reaction time and personality trait distributions, which is statistical impossibility for real women. There are of course infinite number of other factors, but hopefully I estimated the highest contributing ones.

I think that’s a great point, about the stew of misfortunate traits that makes a speed runner. A couple times ITT I found myself being like “well that’s dumb, chicks are definitely autistic,” or “we can absolutely hyper-focus on dumb shit for dopamine;” but the point is, it takes juuuuust the right levels of all those things you said, and it’s so statistically unlikely that a female body would produce that, AND live in modern times, AND in a first or second world country, AND have parents that allowed it, etc etc that there really aren’t women who do it. Maybe the troons ARE the closest we’ll get.
I mean I don’t fucking care, I have hobbies and responsibilities and a woman who will touch my no no parts, I’m good, but it still feels weird to concede to troons.

Similar things exist where women have an innate advantage but they're not on the interwebs. If there were an international competetion for intricate traditional needleworks there would be zero men competing at top levels. You need all the correct traits and autism + small or delicate hands to really dedicate yourself to that sort of thing for years and years on end. Iranian traditional carpet weaving is still a woman's craft, despite their tendency to troon the gays.

I do wonder how long speedrunning can last without imploding under the heavy burden of troon mental illness. Even spergs will surely have enough of them and their constant dramatics, at some point? I'd like to think in a year or two the only speedrunners still competing are all troons.
