Always thought Dick was popular because people saw him as Maddox's replacement. Maddox's audience thought he now carried the torch for what Maddox once stood for, namely low brow, politically incorrect misogynist humour. The Dick and Maddox split happened more than 2 years ago before you started paying attention to him.

A lot has happened since 2017 and 2018 and now Dick didn't appeal as much to me as he did before.

He broke character, grew his hair out, couldn't even maintain the Tucker Max crowd and generally just went into easy mode with Maddox and his typical gimmick of yelling=funny. You can only take so much of it before it just becomes obnoxious. Maddox's books (like Alphabet Of Manliness or whatever) are so fucking cringey and appeal only to angsty teenagers.
