Long story short, no too many people know that much about the character designers who are responsible for underrated anime like the ones mentioned.
Yeah, the character designers helping to transition manga to animation are overlooked. While it's sad that means the artist's original style may be lost to animation (like when it comes to Rumiko Takahashi's characters, many fan-artists end up drawing the anime designs over Takahashi's actual designs), they're still putting in their own little touches that shows off their talents.

She died rather young, it must've been really sudden if they haven't disclosed what it was. This is the second time this week someone from the anime industry passed as Yasuo Ootsuka died Monday at 89. He was one of the first contributors to Toei Animation and was Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata's mentor. He also really loved his automobiles.

Just started getting into FLCL recently and, boy, is it freaking insane. I'm kind of almost glad that I went into it blind.
I watched it fairly recently (just the original, because I heard the “sequels” sucked) and really liked it. It’s definitely different from most anime in that you’re not really watching it for the story. It’s kind of hard to put it into words, but I think where it excels is building an atmosphere of melancholy. Like, it gave me this weird feeling of nostalgia for childhood, despite bearing no specific similarities to the stuff I did as a kid.

The twang that plays when Haruko whacks stuff with her guitar is probably one of the most satisfying anime sound effects.

The anime Ex-Arms was so bad it got the manga sequel axed lmao. Is anyone bothering to watch it?
It's really gotta suck for a mangaka when their work finally gets recognized enough for an anime adaptation only for it be handled by fucking Crunchyroll and they completely butcher it.

Why could they not get a director that actually worked on anime before, surely that should have been the easiest part?

Mangakakalot
I had the bright idea of registering there too, it literally gives zero new features and there is no un-register option. The internet approved solutions are "just log out" and "change your email". I used a throwaway mail there and even like that it feels like a waste.

Damn, his vehicles even beats Toriyama.

Meiruko-chan's getting an anime. Its Studio Passione, so ngl I'm keeping my expectations fairly low until I see the ghosts.

New PV for Shadow House, coming out next season. I recommend it, its a nice mystery made by the same guy who made the colored manga Kuro.
