I disagree. He does get marginally more money when he runs ads on Twitch with more viewers, which he does actually run at certain points like the end of his stream and during his breaks as far as I know. It's very minimal from ads though. But when Phil has those breakdowns and gets a lot more viewers he does a lot of the time get more money through viewer support. Even going back as far as his 'Save the house' era, during certain streams when he would 'REE' on camera about life not being fair or his during his fundraisers he'd get huge viewer numbers of people wanting to see him flail around and lose his mind but these streams also bring out people who will tip or cheer to rile him up and get a reaction out of him as well and of course they're more likely to bring out the whales to bail him out. Same with the vest streaks, near the end of the stream he'd get tons of viewers wanting to see it end and of course a whale would bail him out. And when SH took his Twitch down and he went to youtube? Sure enough the viewer count was outrageous. He was even getting troll tips from clout chasers like Frank Hassle and of course either whales or new 'I've been watching your content for 10 years, first time showing up and tipping to keep you around' people show up as well.
I know he gets some extra money but even so I've noticed the ads barely play for him, admittedly no money is better than some.
I agree when SH took down his Twitch the YT support was massive, 300 ish each time? Though I will disagree on one point, the whales will donate no matter what its sad but true. I think with him getting taken down for that time it set off more pity from them, but as everyone knows the whales aren't rich so Phil can't endlessly tap into the well.
So in other words I feel that even if he acted like a retard to get more views, or had shit like Twitch getting taken down eventually the whales just wouldn't be able to keep up. But maybe a new one could appear.
Any attention that you pay to Phil increases the overall reach of the total attention paid to Phil on the internet, which increases the odds of another sped stumbling across Phil and becoming a whale. Even me just posting on this forum about him does this.
BSV found Phil through Metokur making videos about Phil. BSV is some Norwegian weirdo who survived some kind of boat sinking as a child. He has thrown tens of thousands at Phil.
Swagginz found Phil by watching various TIHYDPs and thinking they were the funniest thing he's ever seen. Swagginz has given thousands to Phil.
If you participate in the Autism Vortex surrounding Phil you are raising his attention profile and on some level you are contributing to making it more likely that a new sped with an open wallet will stumble across him. The more directly you participate the more attention you bring to the Autism Vortex, and the more fun you make it for people to participate in the Autism Vortex on the level you do.
Sometimes I will sit in a restream live for a bit. When I do so I raise the viewer count for that stream and increase the likelihood of random people stumbling across that restream in a directory or getting a random recommendation.
You say there are only 30 people participating in Phil's chat to downplay how your participation in his chat helps him. Imagine if you stopped posting in his chat whatsoever. Imagine if everyone of a similar mindset to you stopped posting in Phil's chat. Imagine if there were literally like just 10 Derichs posting in Phil's chat. Do you think the whales who want attention would be more or less inclined to throw money at Phil? Do you think the random speds would have more or less fun posting in a dead, meme-less chat? Why do you like making Phil's Twitch chat a 'fun' place whose 'vibe' you like participating in? Why do you like increasing Phil's Twitch sub-directory ranking?
I do in part agree, the autism vortex is strong, thats why when I started streaming I disconnected everything to do with him from the new ID, I don't mention him to anyone.
But I suppose in small part maybe we are giving 1% here and there dragging in people like Swaggins or BSV, the only thing is no matter if we leave, his chat, this thread or any tractor vid, sadly Phil will never go. When he said he was gonna stream until he dies, he wasn't lying. I can't remember who said on here about the fact Phil won't be taken down by any of us but himself, they are right.
I do truly get what you mean though, I just think Phil will exist maybe not with the spotlight he has but in some dark shitty part of the Internet, likely with no one holding him accountable, because autists seem to be attracted on their own. I mean how did Derich or KingMichael find him?
For better or worse atleast someone, and maybe just 1 person needs to bare witness to Phil and his behaviour for what it is.
