I'm more surprised Marvel isn't in there and well over Batman.
Like someone else mentioned, I think its because Marvel is divided as multiple properties. I'd still think some of the bigger ones like Spiderman or Captain America would rank higher though

You're absolutely right that sneakerheads aren't shunned at all. This thread makes me think of PJ Tucker, the biggest sneakerhead in the NBA. When the NBA resumed play after the coronavirus pause, they gathered everyone at Disney in Orlando and housed all the players and staff in hotels for a couple of months to minimize outside contact and finish the season. Tucker brought 110 pairs of sneakers with him to the fucking NBA bubble, more than a pair per day. Of course it's easier to make excuses for Tucker as he's a multimillionaire athlete, so he's got comparably more disposable income than some of the other people listed here, but how different is he than your run of the mill hoarder?

He probably uses his collection as a tax write off for "business/work related clothing expenses".

How about instead of arguing about consoomerism we just make fun of it? Wandavision just ended so that should be good material.

I mean Jesus christ, they even got their funko pops to appear in the background, you can't even make this up. :story:
ed: The first dude is even wearing AirPods and consooms weed on the regular, dear lord.
What the fuck happened to you Kevin.

Card games good grief
The neat thing about card games is that you can buy the cheapest card out there regardless of the language and it's still tournament legal. All you have to do is keep a translation on hand. I really don't understand why people who buy binders and binders of the useless things think anyone would find that a suitable substitute for a personality.

I know people who buy popular nerd stuff from thrift and pawn shops to sell online and they make a killing off it. Consoomers absolutely deserve to be ripped off at every chance a business can take, they're essentially money dispensers eager to give it out at whatever chance they get.

I think this thread can also work as a way to know CONSOOM drama. There's has been currently a shitshow taking place in the Pokemon TCG community over scalpers and big name youtubers, as some of you might already know, Logan Paul decided to get into collecting vintage packs and cards pulling up to $100,000 worth, this of course started a snowballing effect with more and more people getting on it for the money and the views with scalpers being the real winners here because now they could sell all their boxsets at ridiculous prices for easy money. This has been a thing for a few months but it wasn't until a few weeks ago that it reached a boiling point during the 25th anniversary celebration; So Nintendo decided to do a collaboration with McDonald's where in every happy meal would come with a pack of special 25th anniversary cards, most if not all of them where just reprints of already existing cards but with shiny effects but that didn't stop 35+ old dudes from ordering more that 100 meals so they could get the whole set and sell the rest, this got out of control too fast and McDonald's couldn't keep up with the demand so they just stopped putting the cards on the kids food which means that any child that wanted his happy meal toy will eat shit because 40 year old Ashfan99 has to catch em' all, but that wasn't even the worst part. The scalping got so bad that you couldn't even find any normal booster pack on stores and most of them got raided by squadron of scalpers taking everything for themselves, some even reported actual physical fights over cardboard cards. Many are crying to Nintendo to do something about this, while others might leave the community over the whole situation.

This video helps to understand a little more how things are going:

TL;DR: Children card game became rich kids hobby and now consoomers are angry because now they need more money to CONSOOM.

What is it about limited edition items at Mcdonalds that causes people to act like a mob of violent retards? This is very similar to the Rick and Morty sauce fiasco.

It just seems like a significant portion of our generation just can't get over shit they liked as a kid. I look back at pokemon with fondness, as it was a very fun game on my gameboy. But that's where it ends. I beat the game, traded some friends to catch all the critters, and then that was that. I lost interest. I bought the Witcher 3 Rube boxed edition, and now I have a cool statue of something I like on the desk, but that's where it ended.

TL;DR I don't get it

So basically Rick and Morty szechuan sauce 2.0?

That's true. I was referring more to the fast food and products therein.
The worst part is, nothing in the McDonalds product is worth anything.

Like they have a Charmander, a reprint of the very first one from the base set.

The Market price for a Base Set Charmander?

Five Dollars.

Do you know why that is? Because There is no format in which it is playable, there is no real competitive place for you to sleeve it up in your deck and show it off, as opposed to Lightning Bolt in magic the gathering..where the first printing is 200 Dollars because despite being printed into the ground..is playable in many formats where you can take that Beta card..sleeve it up and show it off.

Anyone who would use this knowing what the fuck Rugrats were would have to be in their late 20's at the youngest. Imagine being a grown ass adult and using something that looks like it was made for use by five year-olds.
Rugrats ran for nine seasons, which means very early members of Gen Z would have been in the demographic for it. I'd say the cutoff for those who grew up with Rugrats is anyone born after 2000. They might remember it more for All Grown Up, but that's about it.

It's not like anything made these days is any more stimulating. Everything these days is a reboot, a sequel, or a remake.

"It's [old franchise]! It'll never let me down!" Executives think people think like that. Unfortunately, they're proven right way too often.

Is it 1999 again?

FOMO is a helluva a drug.
