I remember the first giveaway I went to was to get a Shaymin for DPPT at Toys R Us.
Mine was the Celebi/Spikey Eared Pichu
Then the most recent one was I think Shiny Giritina at gamestop during BW2. Damn I feel baby. Especially since DP are turning 15 soon (it came out on one of my early birthdays and my grandma gave it to me and that was a railroad. Thanks Grandma Frog)

Honestly I'm kind of excited for Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Arceus has always been my favorite Pokemon, and not only is he now the mascot of what I hope saves the franchise, but now he might be obtainable without cheating or events. I don't own a switch, but I might end up pre-ordering the game anyways (cause they sometimes come with like little figures or a poster stuff and that's kinda cool) and then if the game is any good, I'll buy the whole switch, and if the game sucks, I'll just resell the game and get some of my money back. I am disappointed that Chimchar isn't an available starter, but Oshawott is my second favorite, so I'll just choose him I guess.

I was watching some youtube videos related to pokemon when I saw this pokemon.

And I thought to myself "That's a stupid looking fakemon."

Then I find out it's a real pokemon. Why? Why is Foongus a thing? I know every gen needs Mimic type pokemon, but why this?
Foongus is precious and adorable. Its evolution on the other hand...

Personally I think the whole “most gen v Pokemon are reskins of gen 1 Pokemon” thing is a tad overblown. I know a lot of them were intended to be expies of Kanto Pokemon but the only blatant ones are the Klink Line, the two fighting types, Timburr, Roggenrola, and Woobat. In fact a lot of the other expies are archetypes almost every generation uses.

Damn it, I've been reading though the fangame let's plays that kiwis have been doing and that gives me an itch to play one myself, even though my game backlog is as tall as Mt Everest and the last two times I got that itch I played Pokemon Brown and Pokemon Zeta/Omicron(Don't remember which version) only partially and then dropped them. If I do end up giving in I'll probably try Insurgence or Sage since apparently those are some of the better fangames out there.

Have you heard about pokemon Xenoverse? Been getting into it myself and it looks interesting enough.

Just reading the page for Insurgence makes it sound great. Then I look at the wiki, the sprites look nice.
Then I read the reason given for why "delta pokemon exist"

Delta Pokémon were based on an idea scientists had about Pokémon to make them perfect.
What stupid scientist thought Charizard line needed to be ghosts, and Blastoise line needed to be weebs.
But if you look at delta pokemon pokedex entries it says that Scientists "discovered" them.

So did scientists make them, or discovered them, game? :story:

I do like the Eevee Mega.

Wait until you see primal arceus and giratina.

They both have an ability that gives them every typing

Christ in a hand basket. Thats almost as broken as Wack's Post-game type that only 1 boss has. Void.

Immune to everything but 4 types. Those 4 types are all also I think Post game types. The 4 it is not immune to are. Ogre,Void,Qmarks, and Wack. And these 4 types only do normal damage to it.

And this is why no matter how bad Pokemon gets it will still sell millions of copies. You want to buy a game in case it comes with a poster despite not owning the console it's on or having any intention of playing it.

Legends looks like the wild area with Lets go catching done in the world map instead of inside it's battle system/another screen. It's not going to make any of the changes it needs to make to revive the series and is sadly going to be little more than the DLCs were. It's a step towards the open world BOTW style pokemon game they need to make to revive the franchise but aren't capable of making. The dextards nailed that coffin shut when they threw tantrums over pidgey not being in the the game despite Su/Mo being unplayable and Sw/Sh clawing it's way back to very mediocre but slightly playable because the tutorial/story wasn't quite so aggressive in rail roading you.

Imagine having to hyperbolize critique for pokemon.

There was nothing of the sort. Go play Su/Mo and tell me you're having a good time with sub 15 FPS in battle and a straight line from A to B with more cut scenes than monsters to catch. Do you enjoy mobile games inserted into pokemon instead of boss battles? Pokemon is terrible and it still outsells entire franchises with every release.

If pokemon is terrible why are you trying to comment on what steps it should take? Gen 5 was the best one and sold the worst so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Also way to out yourself as a zoomer if you think 15 fps is "unplayable" for a turn based rpg.

Gen 5 was the start of the decline. It's the point where they decide story is more important than gameplay. When Gen 5 first released there were loads of comics made about the rivals jumping you at every turn slowing the game to a snails pace. Gen 3 wasn't entirely innocent of that but it was still mostly about monster catching with story moments often being hours apart. Did you forget about that Mr. Zoomer? Or is a long winded and entirely soulless story about animal friendship what you play pokemon for?

Sub 15 FPS. On an original 3D it will drop inputs because of the frame rate and when it does register them it can take a few seconds for it to respond. It's not uncommon for the AI to lock up entirely and leave you waiting for a minute if the FPS isn't chugging while it figures out what move to use. If it's sub 15 FPS it will take even longer. For 2 monsters and 2 characters on a blank field that's unacceptable.

B2w2 has more single player content then pretty much all of the other games, unless you want to argue over hgss. So your argument immediately false flat on it's face about focusing too much on the story.

>Dropping inputs
>Pokemon

When you push the button and nothing happens it's dropping inputs. That's how bad Su/Mo is.

>Muh content
Do you understand battle towers and other bullshit only appeal to the most autistic people and are rarely touched by any more else? More content doesn't mean better gameplay. Having to stop every 10 minutes for Lillie and Haw to bitch at you while walking a straight line from town to town is not fun. The gameplay is sacrificed in place of a story cutting it up constantly. This is the design philosophy pokemon took from B/W. The previous generations would have your rival appear occasionally to point you in the right direction and battle you with minor side quests to get to gym leaders. B/W has you walk into a town where a guy starts literally preaching at you for minutes after already putting up with multiple rival characters going on and on about nothing. No one cares about the characters in pokemon, they're background dressing to the gameplay and until Game Freak and you realize that we're going to get more shit shoveled on top burying it.

I didn't say battle tower or battle frontier. B2w2 has the most single player content pre and post them most pokemon games (unless you want to argue about hgss. You're not even making a coherent argument. Like if you look up a list of rival battles with Hugh, there aren't that many.

If you can't understand the point being made there's no point trying to explain it any further. You don't understand the difference between content and game play. They're not the same thing.
