The explanation I've got for why people are okay with troon sons over gay sons is that having your son being gay is seen as your fault, which brings a lot of shame on the family. But if you having a trans son the blame falls on factors outside of your control so nobody'll will (openly) shame you. Well two spirit is a fairly new term, if I remember correctly from 90s and far as I understood "two spirit" is from it's beginning a political term for queer activists who have some ties to american indians to have a word to rally behind. The official reason is said to take language control from the white man and while I'm sure there are people who really believe in that, I think the real reason is more about that most American Indian tripes don't look so good from current year queer rights point of view without it. Reason being pretty much you are saying, multiple different cultures that have different consepts about LGBT and most being at least awkward for the modern leftist. Just like most societies all over the world the tripes didn't and often still don't look sexually unusual behavior favorable nor failing to be a strong man or a caring woman or whatever the traditional gendered behavior were. So the two spirit term also has the benefit of hiding the fact that most those cultures really aren't special in this regard and probably do look worse than the current situation of white societies and you can't give the white man credit on anything.

Yeah, I'm starting to realise that too. It's amazing how fast society went from realising that notions like 'boys shouldn't cry' are detrimental, to encouraging 24/7 degenerate coom-cycles. In what, 30 years?

Maybe this is due to women not understanding male sex drive and paraphilia. I don't know about that. It's already a cancelable offense for men to assert biological truth, but they're not going to get the cotton ceiling treatment. Women are affected by this in a way that men can't be because of their physiology.
