I was more talking about how they don't seem to realize they're just a small yappy dog that's quietly tolerated at the moment.

The sheer arrogance of those types never fails to astound that's all.

They really think they won't be discarded and replaced like the fundies and hippies were.
I don't believe they'll be so easily gotten rid of. Millions of people are part of or support them. I don't care if a lot of the establishment democrats support them and let them get away with things, they have enough of their own methods to stay around for a long time now, especially with how seeped into American culture and politics they are now.

This is pretty far to go to 'prove' that Trump's claims are false (which they aren't, the constitutional claims are correct on their face and the defendants don't even try to deny it). They've basically drawn the battle lines here. The opposition is throwing around terms like 'sedition' and 'treason' which almost certainly means some punishment will be visited on them if they should fail. Most GOP would not risk going to prison just to mount a limp-wristed 'at least we tried' defence like you're suggesting.
lol you don't go to prison just for mounting a meritless lawsuit you fucking mong

BREAKING: #SCOTUS will not allow TX election challenge to proceed, cites lack of standing and says "Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections..."

Justice Alito (joined by Justice Thomas) "In my view, we do not have discretion to deny the filing of a bill of complaint in a case that falls within our original jurisdiction."

In state-level news, the Wisconsin Supreme Court will take up the challenge there (skipping the appellate step) and hear oral arguments 12p local time SATURDAY.
Oof!

"As someone who moved to Texas from California to escape the taxes, street shitting and violent mobs, I'm still voting for all those things here in texas!"
High taxes? Evil right wing policies keeping us from making our perfect free utopia.
Street shitting? Don't be poor-phobic bigot, that's just what the homeless do. It's part and parcel of living in a big city.
Violent mobs? Surely, you mean peaceful minority protests that are smeared and incited by white supremacists.
And even if those things are bad, we can just start them better here and show these dirty Southerners the error of their ways.

Aaaaaand it's done
Statement of Justice Alito, with whom Justice Thomas joins: In my view, we do not have discretion to deny the filing of a bill of complaint in a case that falls within our original jurisdiction. See Arizona v. California, 589 U. S. ___ (Feb. 24, 2020) (Thomas, J., dissenting). I would therefore grant the motion to file the bill of complaint but would not grant other relief, and I express no view on any other issue.
Even Thomas and Alito couldn't be bothered with this lolsuit.

Don't worry though guys, Wood is still appealing his loss in one of his own bullshit lolsuits! HERE'S HOW TRUMP CAN STILL WIN!

A lot of the more inflamatory rhetoric getting thrown around by party mouthpieces fits in here too. They think that they can harness the energy of the base by saying things that sound more serious or outside the regular paradigm.

Case and point right here. Shapiro's the measuring stick for what the establishment GOP is going with narrative wise. There's no way he believes this kind of talk, but he knows plenty of normie conservatives might jump over to the further right elements of the party if the doesn't at least give this stuff lip service.

You may be right but I think you're being a bit too blackpilled here. The SoS and that manager of georgia elections are definitely compromised, Kemp might be aswell but honestly I think he's just a chickenshit. There is only so much the GOP can do and this Texas suit looks like they are at least trying.

There has been cucking GOP actors, mostly in the involved states (won't be by accident) and a few outside. As a non-us citizen i am against secession and should really only be a last resort. As of right now, the Biden camp is threatening everyone with riots and federal fuckery. Texas and all at least making the gesture that secession or at the very least a massive deterioration of inter state relations is a very good play to make.

Antifa and BLM are not on the grand scheme of things that big of a problem. The federal fuckery could hurt a few greatly, but ultimately at least SCOTUS has in choice, albeit a choice between two crappy options. I would remain fearful of might come but do not lose all hope that something worthwhile might be done up to and including Donald getting re-elected.

Edit: quick question: would you guys prefer SCOTUS just effectively hands Trump the presidency with no future safeguards so all electoral reform will have to come from the government(s) or they let Biden keep the presidency with the caveat that all mail-in voting has to follow absentee ballot rules and loopholes closed?

I think you're overestimating the amount of support the radicals actually have in the Dem party. The people with real power wouldn't punish the mainline GOP, especially considering they're often friends(see the Senate). A similar game is going on in the left where they allow those words to get thrown around because the twitter crazies like it. As I've said before the fact that the claims in the court case are valid has less bearing on the result than they would in a vacuum because of the personal interests of the judges and the pressure they're under. Do not expect things to play out how they logically should; we dont live in a righteous society. With all that said I'm more than 50/50 that the SC will rule in Trumps favor, hes not a dumb guy and I believe he has done some things under the radar to help his chances.

edit: Well it appears I may have been correct, kinda hoped I wasn't

That's the thing that heavily surprised me, usually Ben Shapiro is the voice of calm or the presenter of the "be the bigger man" speakers of the GOP. Either he finally awoke to the severity of what could happen (if it does) or he is serious in presenting that possibility because if not it's quite a bit out of a character.

Inb4 some other development reveals that this was a half truth and not the actual end of the legal battle.

I am not saying that's the case but it's always sorta gone like this in the past.
