I can bet you that whoever said that, they're a weeaboo. I mean, with them announcing a FF7 Remake, A new Star Ocean, a new Nier game, and finally showing some more about Kingdom Hearts 3, I'm sure that made many a anime nerd's jimmies feel a little tingly.Looks like we're getting the Shenmue 1/2 movie, and Deutsch subtitles.
People are saying that Square Enix won E3. How? Did they fall asleep during it and dream a better one?
Meme time with #Girlwood. That poor fucking cosplayer. My question to the thread however, what do you think was the most awkward part of the conferences this year? I'm putting my vote towards "Storytime with Pele."
I'm taking notes right now. Will shitpost them here later.Meme time with #Girlwood. That poor fucking cosplayer.

In other news, PC Gaming show starts in 30 minutes...I'm praying that it's not as bad as the EA and Ubi show. I heard Nintendo was bad, but all I saw of that show was people dressed up as Mario dancing and singing.

2 and a half hours of fucking pure disappointment and the host playing with my fucking heart
"Fans have asked for this series to come to PC and here it is...KILLER INSTINCT!"
Not Halo? Is this a fucking joke? Holy shit, they built up so much fucking hype. That got me so damn mad I wanted to strangle Phil Spencer. Doing a great job at listening to demand right there Microsoft.
There was a decent amount of cringe too. That LONG, HORRIBLY AWKWARD pause during the Planet Coaster announcement. Holy shit thank God Plott broke the fucking ice fast. That moment where the Paradox dev tried to shake hands with Plott like 4 times, but the Obsidian dev kept moving in the way. That absolutely glorious mic failure for the new Hitman.
So overall I was more disappointed with this conference than anything else. For a fucking PC-oriented conference, they had no idea what PC gamers wanted. Or maybe PC gamers do just want VR and MOBAS.
I was honestly in denial for after fucking Phil Spencer announced Killer Instinct for PC. At the beginning I thought it possibly couldn't be worse than EA's show or Ubi's. They announced Rising Storm 2, showed off the cool as fuck gore system for KF2, generally good shit. Then came Phil with his complete lack of interest in anything going on and announced KI for PC.If I had the capability to give you an "Agree" rating made out of diamonds, I would fucking give it to you right now.
I mean... HOLY FUCKING SHIT WHAT WAS THAT. I have to apologize to EA and Pele now. When he went off on a tangent for five minutes, I thought that was bad. Then I watched this conference... I'm pretty sure out of that 2 1/2 hours, maybe half an hour was either footage of a game or a trailer, the rest was just talking. Yeah, it's nice to hear from the developers... but not when you're supposed to be showcasing your goddamn wares.
And boy howdy, what amazing wares did they have... repeats from previous conferences, DayZ TWICE and a bunch of early access games or games that only exist in a trailer. Seriously, out of that entire time, how many game demonstrations were there? TWO?!
Only saving grace was that the host was able to adapt and tried to liven up the show. But you could tell he was struggling at times.
Man... fuck that show.
Not gonna lie, I should hate Aisha Taylor, but i kinda like her. I dislike this trend in gaming media of getting an attractive woman to present news because nerds dig chicks and games, but she carries herself really well and is actually a good presenter regardless of the setting.Personally, I find Aisha funny most of the time. But her humor and the awkward gamers and game developers just are incompatible, and it's fucking hilarious when she jokes around with them and the guys are being extremely awkward and thinking "OMG A WOMAN WHAT DO I DO?!".
Oh God, I remember that like it was fucking yesterday. That announcement made me laugh so hard. The jump, the excitement in his voice, Ode to Joy blasting out, the crowd silent as a mouse. Just an absolutely perfect moment.Still always better than this:

Don't say that, I was so excited...I'll admit: while I'm intrigued about the FFVII remake, I really don't have much faith. Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus were both so fucking terrible they convinced me nobody currently at Square has any idea why FFVII worked. Hell, I'm pretty much certain Nomura just got lucky back in the day. Graphics were too primitive for people to notice how awful his character designs would get when he was allowed to work with real detail.
Plus, it's a pre rendered trailer. Which means: a) nothing we see has any relation to the current product, b) for all we know it could take a decade before the game is ready, and c) by the time Square starts revealing actual content, there's every reason to expect they'll prove every negative assumption I have right. None of these are reasons to be optimistic.
