This doesn't really affect much of the game since way more was cut out to be DLC. But holy shit dedicating an entire emergency patch to this when there's far bigger issues with the game itself is ass backwards.

I'm glad other companies are starting to offer complete open world games out of the box. Ubi needs it's crutches taken away and kicked down the stairs like the cripples they are.

Best part of it was this person trying to act big on it with saying "wait until I ruin Demon's Souls" and something on how this space of gaming won't be infected with terrible people. It sounded as exceptional, smug, and stupid as it sounds. And for all the complaint about ableism, I can only imagine at worst it just sounds like stupid writing that wouldn't even bugger a lot of people that do have deformities.

Yeah this totally sounds like it's gonna be all pozzed. Sexy armor being equal among characters? That's bad. And any haircut is also bad, not like Capcom did that before with a game where a dragon was the big bad monster. Dunno about the LGBTQ part in terms of appealing since that can sound vague as to what they mean by appealing unless Capcom can do better writing for them than Western game developers but then again, who the fuck knows. I can only imagine both sides are going to have spergs getting angry somehow by some shit like "REEEE pozzed" or "REEEEE not the right person for this trans/gay character" or something like that.

It being an extortion attempt makes it more likely it is real. You can't extort someone if they didn't do something both you and they think is wrong. If you were super keen on extorting capcom for some reason, just about any other method would be better than demanding capcom pay you $10 million to destroy a bunch of corporatese they know you made up.

Possibly. I'm rating you optimistic because this is 2020 and everything is totally insane and an utter shitshow these days.

At the same time, I'm not quite ready to go full doomer because the last part of the article implies this was more of a diversity seminar that Capcom business execs attended or a diversity consultant that was hired and that certain states require that these are either mandatory for companies or at least gives them a tax credit if they attend them.

It's possible that Capcom is going pozzed to avoid the wrath of Woke Twitter and it's also possible they're paying their obligatory lip service by having some wokesters give a PC seminar or consultation and then can disregard everything they mentioned the moment said wokester walks out the door.

At this point who the fuck knows what's going on?

Monster Hunter World has more brown NPCs than anything else, but so did every other Monster Hunter especially MH3U.

Resident Evil has mostly done remakes and has given no indication that they're going woke or plan to go woke

Street Fighter has always had a diverse cast, so nothing could change on that front

I dunno there's nothing else upcoming or recently previous that suggests that they're going to change course. Like compare it to blizzard who went full retard and sunk Diablo, Warcraft, and Starcraft.

Why has Twitter hijacked the corporate boardroom. Trump even now is proof that Twitter is an abstract joke that can be ignored.

Trump is probably the most shit on person in the history of Twitter and it hasn't made him even think of conceding.

Point is that the corporate board rooms may need to be taught that Twitter is a echo chamber.

First impressions are everything and if the coomers don't get immediately jerked off with initial designs they will make claims of the game being pozzed like MK11 was even though they released a subsequent femme fatale pack with "klassic" outfits. Usually news like these don't generate confidence and poisons the well for further discussion

The only thing I can find funny when it comes to the whole design thing may as well be both sides sperging on it. Coomers that think "ruined forever" and people on the other side being against "klassic outfits" and the like because of some shit like "not realistic" when considering what the fighting game like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter have.
 
It should be noted that "try and appear prim, proper and woke" and "horny DLC costumes" can both be true. It's happened multiple times, and in the case of DOA, multiple times in the same series. Think of DOA's "I'm a Fighter" campaigns etc.
  1. A company tries to "broaden their market" or believes they need to step away from their past sexy designs
  2. The new, promised audience doesn't arrive and the old audience is repelled
  3. DLC and optional stuff becomes looser and lewder to attract old fans. It may or may not work.
  4. Time passes, a new game is made, the lessons from #2 are forgotten, and we go back to #1

DOA is fucking dead though

Most fighters are dead and you only really have Tekken for 3d Arena fighters and Guilty Gear for 2d.

The whole genre got corrupted with E-Sports but now with the EVO scene being dead maybe fighters will return to their couch co-op roots?

The description says she was "horribly burned in a childhood accident" and is now "terrified someone will see her disfigured face.

Craven said that it's "absolutely unacceptable to talk about facial differences this way." She also described the embarrassment of seeing the game representing burns this way while sitting next to her girlfriend, who "is a burn victim and spent many years ashamed of her scars."

Fuck off. This is what makes a character realistic: they develop reactions to a world around them, both positive and negative, and the world does so in return. Historical accuracy isn't something these games cared about in a while so I ain't citing that, but come the fuck on let other burn victims feel good that they have a character who's insecure and deals with it like them. Piss off.
 
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't toning down the costumes in DOA because the creators were hoping to make massive shekels in E sports and they had to meet broadcasting standards, not because of an sjw conspiracy?
