100% agreed. It’s suspect to be on both Vyvanse and (generic) Adderall.

IIrc vyvanse was made, or is at least prescribed over adderall, because you can’t chew on the beads of a vyvanse capsule and break the time release (like XR adderall) because it has to metabolize through your liver. This also makes it pointless to snort vyvanse, again because it has to process through your liver. The idea is vyvanse “less abuse-able” than adderall, which is bullshit imo. You can definitely still abuse vyvanse. There are also loads of girls/young women that use stimulants to diet/keep their weight low. Like, tons. Just because we don’t hand out amphetamines like candy to fatties doesn’t mean several generations of women don’t know by now how easy stims make your life feel like it’s on easy mode. Boosted mood, “feeling good”, after having spent years (supposedly) confined to a hospital bed? Sounds like an easy trap to fall into.

Speaking of which, I’m certainly interested in the possibility of a family of munchies. How much do we know about Mikaila’s health pre-meat-diet? I’m not super familiar with Peterson lore. She is said to have spent years of her teens in a hospital for arthritis, right? RA? What years were this? Is any of this documented online? Was it before Peterson really picked up steam fame-wise?

I will say that I believe Mikaila has AT LEAST (in the psychological sense) disordered eating, if not a full blown eating disorder. I thought this before I learned about the stims she’s taking, but especially so now. And with most of today’s munchies, there is hiding/comorbid eating disorders. Seriously, like, all of them. It’s like textbook now. Very sus

What do we know about the wife’s cancer? What kind of cancer?Does she have social media pages anywhere? Those would probably be more telling. Last I heard the wife’s cancer is in remission, as far as we know this is still true? Do we know the timeline of what what going on in Jordan/Mikaila’s life in conjunction with the timeline of the wife’s supposed cancer?
You're reading it wrong. She was on Vyvanse first and then later prescribed Adderall, likely due to side effects. Look at the dates they were never prescribed at the same time.

so at this point unless I'm wrong peterson is either dead or recovering?

At this point, he's in horrible shape. Hopefully recovering. Most likeley suffering side effects of the COVID. He's got pneumonia, which slows healing a lot, not to mention the brain damage. In the latest interview with the daughter, he never raised his right arm.

Late (as she was not on both at the same time), but it's not really *that* weird. Most patients taking amphetamines for legitimate ADHD are going to need two hits per day, but 1-3 is pretty common. Vyvanse provides one, and adderall XR the other two. It's unusual to write it this way, not least because many insurers won't cover more than one XR stimulant per day even if it is generic, and while Vyvanse isn't really "all day" like they say, it's smoother and generally will last longer than IR would, so psychs would be less likely to provide it.

We know that his wife's cancer was terminal (as in "you have a few months left"), and it led to him upping his benzos, because he couldn't cope with that much anxiety, but then she got some surgery, and the cancer is no longer terminal/she is in remission.

I think you are right. Even cancer story stinks.
Technically, if you don't receive treatment, most cancers are terminal. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Peterson or his daughter were twisting the definitions like this, either for extra sympathy, or to drum up support for their kooky dietary claims.

Now look at JP, he preached so fucking hard about people getting their shit together, it's pretty unsurprising that he and his family are about as far from having their shit together as Somalia is from taking over the world.

It's not that surprising. I remember when there was a TV show about hoarders. The person who managed the hoarders, who was able to get them to clean themselves up, turned out to be a hoarder herself. Sometimes the only person able to accurately articulate what the problem is, are the people experiencing the problem themselves.

so right. He's dead. right? We've heard of no recovery far past the date of when he latest could have recovered.

Probably still recovering, he was pushing himself way too much with that tour anyway and is actively being replaced by his dingbat daughter. I also don't think he has any sort of brain damage, people are jumping to that conclusion but at this point the thread is saying every single medical claim he's ever made is fake and I have a feeling he's gonna end up doing some big annoying return to Joe Rogan or, more likely, Dave Rubin.

He seems to pay careful attention to the reaction he gets from his claims and has walked them back more than once, so part of me is hopeful he's taking a really close look at all of the medical shit he has promoted or experienced and comes out the other side talking more about that. He never promoted the meat thing as hard as his daughter, his line was always "it worked for her, I can't say it'll work for everyone, I don't really know, but that's my experience in this one case." I can't recall, but I even think it was his daughter who was the one taking all the photos of her mom after the cancer thing, and attributing that to the all-raw-meat diet. I might be wrong but if he decides to back that, it's over. She appears to equate healthiness with how thin she is and proving it with obsessive bikini photos, so that is a red flag right there.

He has to be grappling right now with what his daughter is doing, the decisions she has made, and her public life right now. He can't be immune to all the shit everyone else is noticing and saying, and as far as I know all his "Intellectual Dark Web" friends haven't said a single word about any of it. Awaiting satellite-nerd Michael Shermer to weigh in.

He looks like he's in a fucking bomb shelter.

Just curious. Is anyone willing to do the public service to the kiwifarm and listen to Mikhaila's podcast on why eating without murder is bad for you?

Or any of its subjects.... Theory of Enchantment, kratom product mind bullet, viral video about the Christchurch massacre, or the science behind eating beef?

Hm, I was looking for a content to listen to on my way to work. Maybe I will give it a shot?

Edit:
I will volunteer listen to the science behind eating beef because it's somewhat interesting to me. Downloading now.

The guest is a woman who does diversity and inclusion courses, but it's kinda irrelevant cause they barely talked about it. She's shilling for her startup "that teaches people how to love, a training program that uses developments in psychology combined with pop culture to teach people character building, resiliency etc. etc." ~20 min of "be nice to others" and Mikhaila trying to learn how not to get triggered on Twitter. Then they talk about BLM? The biggest problem with it? It violates Theory of Enchantment. Next they're analyzing Beyonce's "Black is King" - they're both more for it than against it, but nothing interesting really

IMO Mikhaila did a poor job as interviewer/host here. She didn't really prepare any questions, the guest wasn't one of those who can talk all the time without someone talking back, so they jumped from one topic to another sometimes just talking about some personal stuff

The guest is the owner of bunch of gyms (one of them apparently an open gym where you can come in at certain hours and workout for free which is neat) and some products (supplements). Peaked Mikhailia's interest because he follows low carb diet too. So they talked about that, being surprisingly frank about how they're both don't really know the science behind it. Then they talk about how to get strong if you're weak - basically, exercise, don't expect fast results, listen to your body. Then the shilling for kratom stuff. It's basically a plant powder. They assign it all sort of benefits, but I wouldn't be that hyped (not approved by anything, toxic, may cause addiction). Shilling for his supportive belt next. Next they talk about steroids, the guest says they're to power lifters are what drugs are to creative people - "makes you more of what you are", in his words. Mikhaila asks about any downsides, he mentions problem getting off of them, how it can fuck up your liver, hormones, makes it hard to have kids and thickens your blood. They encourage people to read about stuff they think about taking - props for that

She did way better as a host here probably because the guy could talk for an hour uninterrupted, so all she had to do is ask couple prepared questions, add some interjections here and there and let him at it. Maybe she is more into the topic of fitness

The guest is an Aussie comedian who joked about Christchurch.

Mikhaila talks about how their family got covid: apparently serbs said they had no corona, so there was no quarantine, but then 4 weeks after they've had an election they were like "just kidding we have a huge corona spike". Their family quarantined and 10 days into it they all got it (they've quarantined themselves in the clinic JP is staying in). They all had mild fever and nausea, JP's getting better but corona made it harder for him to take whatever other meds they gave to him in the clinic. This was in August

The guest talks about how he didn't go the classic way of family friendly comedian and chose to grow through social media instead. They talk about limits in jokes - he says that, while he gets where people are coming from with this, at the end of the day he only cares if people laugh. Next they talk how humor is often the way of coping with horrible shit that happens to you. He talked how people who get triggered by his jokes send him shitton (~45k) of vile dms on insta, noting how ironic it is that people who were offended by his poking fun at feminism would send stuff like "I hope your wife/daughter gets raped" (he doesn't even have a daughter). Then they talk about cancel culture and how people are pressured to apologize for every little thing (e.g. Ryan Reynolds apologizing for having his wedding at a former plantation) and how apologizing to those people doesn't mean you get forgiven it only means you're admitting to being guilty. He mentions how being shitted on when he was a fat kid probably lead to his developing a good sense of humor, since he had to be funny to get friends and talk to girls and how having mental illness, while being a horrible experience, made him a overall a better person. Then they about diet (I have a feeling she brings diet up a lot) - the guy did keto for epilepsy, he tried all meat diet but stopped 2-3 weeks in

Leaving the beef one to Gorilla Tessellator

Overall the podcast is listenable, as in it depends largely on the guest. Mikhaila is a very hit or miss host, but if the guest has something interesting to say that doesn't really matter

Thanks for the entire recap of those podcasts!

Sounds particularly funny that the problem with something is that it violates the theory of enchantment, while never really delving into what it is. I'll have to see if I can wade through to listen to that.

As for the quote, the comedian is right that it's ironic/funny, but even then the dm's kinda make sense if you look at it from the warped perspective of a feminist. They believe in rape culture, they believe that certain jokes perpetuate rape culture, so that there is non-zero net result of rapes resulting from those jokes. And then they hope that that fraction of a rape is going to be his daughter or wife. Besides they think 1 in 5 women get raped, so one of the women in his life was going to get raped anyways, but let it be one that he cares about.

Overall the podcast sounds about as boring as I expected, but I'll listen to the enchantment one at some point to verify. It sounds like not that much is being said, so not much to laugh at either.

His daughter should learn that it is best to keep certain opinions within your inner circle. She thinks it's the pesky cancel culture but they were always were certain things you could never reveal to the world without consequence long before social media. Her own father lost his job because he fell under the illusion that he could say whatever he wanted.

So Mikhaila came back to Canada. It's not clear if she brought JP with her or buried him in the outskirts of Belgrade though.
Also apparently there is no plumbing nor internet in the whole Eastern Europe.

What this bitch is about? I don't know about Canada, but US has shittier internet than Europe. Definitely much more pricey. Yeah, maybe Amazon packages take longer to deliver, but plumbing? Certainly, you can find places without indoor plumbing even in USA, but it's definitely not a norm in Eastern Europe.

I'm back with reflections about beef podcast. It took me a while, because I had to go to work, duh, and 1h podcast is for both ways.

So I know Robb Wolf from my general interest in diet, although I don't believe in Paleo, and he is the type who also started Crossfit hype. These people share religious zeal with vegans, but pretend they are better somehow.
Some interesting tidbits:
  • the book presents clear statistics about the environmental impact of animal husbandry (it's not as bad as vegans tell us)
  • the actual social impact of banning animal husbandry would be disastrous for many communities in poorer regions where nothing but grass grows anyway
  • it would also negatively impact children, as lack of animal protein intake limits the brain development
  • he discusses global warming effects with a nice anecdote that someone told him that people who question global warming usually also question Holocaust
  • I think Mikhaila did the hosting part quite well, she was asking semi-interesting questions and faded into background as a good host should
  • Robb Wolf claims that after he stopped eating some vegetables he stopped being sensitive to dairy
  • brought up important issues of soil depletion and the fact our grain farming depends on fossil fuels

What I really disliked about the podcast is that Robb did not say much about possible negative impact of eating beef on health. He also did not stress the most damaging part of modern Western diet which are highly processed vegetable oils such as soybean oil. One of the absurdities he spewed was that the most dangerous are sugar and juices, and he recommended to drink diet soda (!!!). Personally, I don't respect anyone who say that sugar is oh so dangerous. Yes, you should not eat too much sugar, but it's not as dangerous as other aspects of modern diet.

They knew each other for some time, and her podcast was to help him shill his book "The Sacred Cow".
