My medfag friend who just finished med school has this to add:
“It’s less important at this point that her physicians know she’s doing this to herself and more important that they know how those behaviors might carry over were a bilateral amputation performed. Her wound sites and other new areas would inevitably be destroyed unless Kelly was hospitalized for the months and months it takes for amputation sites to heal properly. With these sorts of self-inflicting Munchausen’s patients, it’s a waiting game moreso than those who are only searching for new diagnoses to parade around.. The focus is on what she’s willing to do, not what she’s already done, since if we intervened now it would give her an opportunity to do more harm to herself.”
It’s nothing we didn’t already know, but interesting to hear.

It's a zero sum game for the medical team to even attempt amputation when she's likely to continue picking at her stumps and new sutures as they try to heal. There's no way she could ever be fitted with a prosthesis given her obsessive self-mutilation. It seems like the only environment where she had any significant healing was in the hospital where she could be monitored 24/7. I'm still surprised that she hasn't had an infection emergency from being home and unsupervised over these past few months.
Would it be possible to mark this cow as inactive? She's barely been posting anything on her Instagram account, but she does have the link to the Dropbox wound cleaning video listed right on top of her page with no warning whatsoever about what it is.

All her infections are common, everyday ones caused by regular filth. She's nothing new.
Only shrinks have anything to learn from all this and I'm willing to bet this is as common as strep to them as well.
She truly has no value, medically, to anyone.

AFAIK she posts IG stories a lot. They're all just sort of random innocuous crap though. I wonder what actually happened. It was looking like she had lost a ton of weight, but only mentioned it once or twice. Is she posting in a private community somewhere? Is she dumping all of her insanity on people she knows in real life? How did she go from living for online attention to barely any activity? She didn't get better. She must be getting her fill of attention elsewhere.

she's definitely posting somewhere. I'm not in enough munchie watching groups/circles to find her. she's probably in a group about immune disorders, chronic fatigue, and/or "wound healing" I would guess. she'll have left the anemia groups behind by now. looking for other names she's used, but haven't come across her yet.
edit: chronic regional pain syndrome. I've got a colleague that thinks they've found her in a group. if not, it'll be at least worth a post in the general munchie thread.

I can’t believe I’ve got to the end of the thread and she isn’t dead.
I truly hope her medical team collecting all the data they can. Munchies have been around for time eternal, but this is on another level, although it would be difficult to collect quality information, because 99% of the things that come out of her mouth is bullshit.

Is it just me, or at 1:05 is her foot moving? I've watched this footage far more than I'd like trying to figure it out, it appears her left big toe flexes as the camera comes up and moves before she starts flopping her knees about. I mean it's nothing compared to those f u c k i n g legs but those piggies look wriggly to me. Now if you'll excuse me it's time for some hearty shots of bleach to the eyes.

The right leg has two holes. The first shows the shin bone, blackened by infection and exposure to air. Muscles crusted with pus and exuded fluids move freely next to the bone as the leg is moved.
Hole two, unremarkable, putrescent but apparently healing by secondary intention. It appears to be deep enough that only the scabs are covering the bone. This wound appears to have been debrided approximately a week ago, judging by the scab and scar textures.
Left leg has an anterior, deep, necrotic hole with infection evident on the bone surface. Muscle can be seen moving independently of tendon. Said tendon is missing sheath, and showing white in a strip in the appropriate anatomical placement. It has apparently been recently debrided (possibly by the patient) only on the tendon, the surrounding areas and structures are fully crusted over and dry on the surface.
Hole two contains deep black scab.
Both ankles and feet are retaining water and the skin shows signs of underlying infection. When fully medically debrided, these extremities may require amputation. There seems to be nearly no fine motor control. On repeat viewing, it appears that all valve structures may have failed, preventing the return or drainage of fluid from these extremities. There may be extensive cell death and dead blood cells present in quantity, and great care should be taken to drain before any debridement.

This woman. Goddamn. She’s going to die of sepsis before she gets her long-desired amputations. Remember how great her skin grafts looked and healed when she was in the hospital? All that specialized work wasted. At least they used her own skin instead of a donor.
