All of this is directly a reflection of the CCP purge of non propaganda literature.
In the digitial age, its much harder to remove non prog materials, so the answer is to amend what already exists first.
Its small for now, involves adding things like this mandatory 10 minute wait timer.
In time it will get worse.
And not that much time, as this gets dramatically faster as the radicals get more deranged and powerful.

Not sherrif. There's an eagle or some sort of banner across the top, a circular seal in the centre, and something underneath it.

Which would indicate they're bringing in peripheral police departments so they can rotate out the local Seattle PD. Just from the colouration I'd guess it's Oregon City PD. Obviously that's just a guess.

Because in High school history text books when you get to the civil rights era you are most likely going to see images of civil rights protesters getting hit by fire hoses.

Also using fire hoses or water cannons are more likely to cause injuries and death (high psi and danger of people including police slipping on the water) then tear gas and mace.

I understand the optics and why they aren't using them, but the courthouse is a perfect scenario where it should be used.

Underground is active, and other right-wing militias like the 3%/AWD have certainly started to mobilize, Hell even the glowies are coming out in full-force with their rightist tactic - ultimately it's going to come down to individual willingness being pushed more and more by events to find groups of like-minded nature, networks of like-minded nature, and people of like-minded nature, and within networks we have to actively work in order to prevent mindsets like Tarrant's from fostering any further than it did before - Tarrant made himself clear on certain forums and Skype groups before Christchurch happened, but there was little anyone could do for someone past the point of "I'm fucking sick of this and I'm going to do something about it."

Certainly an opportunity for people to network, loosely or tightly it doesn't matter, but 100% avoiding an incident like Tarrant in today's world? Almost nigh-impossible but if we've managed stability this long through the start of the storm, maybe we'll be alright; fucking mass-shooterism is still running rampant, but it's mostly just vocalized/written mass-shooterism, goofy ass fantasies, no one has actually gone out and done it thank Christ.

If you look at the useage of fire hoses durning the Civil RIghts Era its only ever on small groups of like at most 5, there may not be enough feds, hoses and areas to hook them up to actually be used on the crowd with out risking another group "charging" the feds.

Mace and Gas are also work as denial of area (for those with out gas masks) by making the air around it (depending on wind) unpleasant and spicy.

The other issues with using hoses is that they are static you only have the length of the hose, mace and gas can be used with a much further range.

They didn't mention the Marshals after all, they were very specific to say only Border Patrol/ICE rather than 'all Federal LE'. We'll see how the next few nights of riots go but my takeaway here so far is that the Feds are only rotating some of their units out to be reinforced with state troopers while the governor desperately tries to spin it in a way that doesn't cause the mob to turn on her (Which they will, anyway. Might as well go hardline on crushing them since they won't accept anything other than total submission).
