I didn't bother with preordering, hence my lack of MATI.

I may be a Necron player, but I've infantry a-plenty; I don't need twenty more warriors.

For that matter, I don't need any Crypteks or Overlords. I would like to get my grubby paws on the new Canoptek Reanimator (the giant spider looking thing), but I'm happy to wait till it comes out on its own.

Yeah, the more I thought about it, the more I was like "I really only want about five of these models anyway, no need to get all fussed about it." Besides, I have grad school shit to pay for.

I hate strategy games because they are super boring but I just bought Total War Warhammer 2 because of the awesome monsters and it was only 20€ on Steam.

I'm probably going to lose all the time but at least I can watch monsters fighting.

I wish there was a Warhammer rpg game similar to Dragons Dogma.

Dark Heresy.

The only new model I find neat is that war of the worlds walker.
If you haven't seen it, the Void Dragon model is extremely impressive, as the model appears to be hovering over its base on a web of energy.

My only problem is how the -fuck- do you assemble that sort of thing...

Edited because evidently hotlinking to Warhamster Community makes them cry or something.

Little bit of a lore on the Silent King from GW today. Of note to me:

  • Silent King didn't nap with the rest of the Necrons, he went outside the galaxy and explored in atonement.
  • SK wants to undo the bio-transference and restore the Necrons to flesh and blood (maybe not new, I'm a bit weak on the Necron lore, where are they getting the Necrontyr personalities back from, the C'tan shards?)
  • Ran into the Nids out in the transgalactic void, has come back to rally the Necrons against them because if they strip the galaxy of biomaterial, then he will never be able to undo the bio-transference (manufacturing organic matter, even just out of solar hydrogen, seems rather benign for their tech level, but ok)
  • The Pariah Nexus is a region of Space largely cut off from the warp by noctilith pylons, this causes all lving creatures in the region to become NEETs, numbing despair that eventually leads to completely mindless husks, that SK uses to research reversing bio-transference.
  • Demons and psychic powers aren't impossible here, but extremely difficult
  • The chaos Gods have plans for the pylons, as they can also be attuned to enhance the warp/pychic powers
  • C'tan shards are breaking loose and coming after the Necrons.

I don't really get the mass appeal of the big boxed sets, tbh. The only boxed set I've ever bought was one for AoS, and that was because it was the only way to get Horticulous Slimux for a while.

I would buy more of them if there were a simple and convenient way to just trade the SM half to get double the other side. Or at least, something that didn't involve shit like eBay.

Oh fuck, that actually might be worse than the tyranid invasion.
That's the problem with using C'tan shards as weapons. The Necrons sealed them away for a reason. The good news is that those shards are pale shadows of the full C'tan they comprised.

Of course, the bad news is that a C'tan shard can still wreak unholy havoc on a battlefield.

C'tan as their own faction when? Just make them the most elite of armies like a Xenos analogue of Imperial Knights. Fluff Necron as allies because something or another C'tan grimdarkly take a hold of their souls or something, I don't know.

No mention of the fact that he has the Blood Angel's phone number, or was rocking a death mask of Sanguinius at one point huh?

Valrak is saying he's hearing rumors that they're going to reprint Indomitus in August for ... GW Retailers only? Or maybe FLGS too?

~4 minutes in.

Yeah, the bits about wanting to undo the bio-transference and leaving the galaxy and then coming back to fight the Nids are all older lore, from the time when Newcrons came into being around the end of 5th edition.

As far as the biotransference goes, basically how it worked was the C'Tan dumped the Necrontyr's minds into their shiny new Terminator bodies, then snaffled up all the energy released by the destruction of their organic bodies and souls, which is how they got burly enough to defeat the Old Ones during the War in Heaven. Presumably reversing the process would involve finding a way to put the Necron minds back into flesh-and-blood bodies and overwriting whatever is already there. A lot of Necrons have lost their minds, so now they're just automatons slaved to their Tomb World's master control system, while others are damaged and haven't retained their full intelligence, so the results might not be what the Silent King is hoping for in every case.

The Warhammer TV "Week Ahead" video also said they're not putting Indomitus back on preorder "this week," hinting at the possibility of them eventually putting it back on preorder. It seems like a tremendously stupid idea for GW to play coy with a potential 2nd printing. Not only is everybody pissed off about Saturday, but by waiting to announce anything, people are going to panic buy it from scalpers for $400+. GW could've cut all this off by flat out stating, "hey, we vastly underestimated the demand. There's a second printing coming. Just be patient."

Units not given point values in new Chapter Approved and likely being retired to Warhammer Legends.

Lias and the Raptors is the army I wanna build, so disappointed even though I'm pretty sure I can do similar with a Raven Guard successor chapter and their sniper rifle relic.

My guess is they're eliminating anything that doesn't have a model, seeing as how none of those characters ever got an official mini that I'm aware of and the chaplain dread has been gone for some time now. The Caestus and the Hyperios have also disappeared from the FW site.
