That's a whole lotta words just to say "straight white guy."

"Discordian"? Are SJWs a Daiscordian plot to troll society? Or is he claiming to be something he doesn't understand?

Re: Trigger warnings - don't really have a problem with them, they're just ratings expanded. It's when they say "You can't put X into your work, it'll trigger people" that I have a problem with.

Practicality can be good, but sometimes the designs look so plain, overly-casual and boring.

Wow, every single one of those redesigns is worse than the current costumes. Even Harley, winner of "worst new outfit in the nu52" looks even more terrible in the hoodie and ill-fitting costume combo in that article.

And that other article you linked to, where she hates on "bombshell covers" - how do people who hate aspects of the medium so much get hired to write about it? It's the same thing I've been wondering about video games for a while now.
(That said, why not some beefcake covers too?)

Somebody throw me a doughnut, I'm tired and I could use a bit of definitional assistance here.

What is perceived to be the difference between a "social justice warrior" and a person who works for and/or supports social justice causes? Like, what makes one an SJW as opposed to a person who does a lot of volunteer work for marginalised/underprivileged groups?

For starters, one of them actually works to help people, the other sits on the internet all day telling people what to do and what they can't say. Or worse, have media jobs where they get paid to write op-ed pieces telling people what to do and what they can't say.

Somehow I doubt these rich white people would have had all the time in the world to bitch on Twitter if they lived in a country with a different economic system.

Rich SJW types from the third world are even more insufferable and hypocritical. Benjanun Sriduangkaew is a shining example of this, using her ethnicity as a shield from criticism and insisting she's oppressed, while living in a mansion and abusing her servants.

Back in the day the CIA'd kidnap pretty much anybody who'd publicaly state an opinion that communism maybe wasn't possibly the work of the devil. With all these marxists running around openly infiltrating everything, why aren't Andrea Dworkin and the like being held in some storage facility in Liberia or someplace getting their toenails torn out?

It's time for Saturday Sanity!
That green-bordered post - where is that angry person who says white people can't wear a kimono from?

I'm also pretty sure that at least the majority of the people of Japan aren't against Western people enjoying Japanese culture per se, nor do they automatically hate white people who go there.

most posts on tumblr and even on youtube from people from japan are either "i don't care, whatever" or "oh that's cool"
and then a bunch of SJWs run in and go "ITS OKAY DUMB JAP WE KNOW YOURE OPPRESSED BY THIS IM TRIGGERED TOO.. YOURE SUPPOSED TO BE ANGRY AT THIS!!!"

I think I heard Mccarthy's ghost running around the streets saying how he was right all along

Have you ever seen any posts from the people of Japan that agree with certain tumblr viewpoints and call out what is seen as cultural appropriation?
i haven't, they might exist. but then again, there aren't many posts about appropriating culture from a person in the culture.

although there was one time an indian said it was okay for a white person to have a dot on her forehead and all that.. then said indian got flooded with hate and "WELL YOU DONT SPEAK FOR EVERYONE SO SHUT UP" and got so scared, she left tumblr

IIRC, one of the mods of "thisisnotjapan" is a half-Japanese, American woman and she moans if a white person so much as looks at a kimono. Many full Japanese people pointed out to her that as a mixed race person that a lot of people in Japan would not even consider her to be Japanese, and thus she has no place running a blog "defending" Japanese culture from being stolen. The situation got funnier when it turned out that particular mod couldn't speak or even read Japanese.

The other mods are all white and black, but if you disagree with them on the correct way to appreciate Japanese culture, you are a "dirty fetishizing weeaboo".

Looks like they've come up in this thread before.

So I guess to answer your question, no, I haven't seen that.

Wasn't there also something about japan actually having people employed to try and encourage other countries to take part in their culture? Pretty sure I've heard 'bout that.

most people like it when other people learn about their culture, it reduces stereotypes. and for japan it sorts the kawaii weeaboos from people with general interest in japanese culture (i like japanese music outside of j-pop. j-pop annoys me). and if you're going to live in another country, you should try to fit in as much as you can.

A few years ago, on Netflix there was this Mega Man cartoon I saw that was meant to inform youngsters about the differences between Western and Japanese cultures. I think it was sponsored by the Japanese government.

I have seen the occasional Japanese person call out some really autistic weeb for acting like an exceptional individual.

But that wasn't tumblr cultural appropriation shit. That was stop acting like a moron shit.

An actual social activist tries to achieve equality by bringing the needy up. A social justice warrior tries to achieve "equality" by bringing everyone else down.

We're currently at the point where praising people for success is considered offensive.
