It's also quite interesting that the platform has turned into a caste system: the Blue Checkmarks and... the rest of the world.
 
I just find this deterioration of twitter's original intended purpose -- unfettered and organic viral high-speed short-form communication based on topic interest and interconnections between users following each other and liking their posts -- into this monstrosity we have today where people want to use this ostensibly public communication platform for one-way broadcast communication to a (deliberately) limited audience who is barred from any real participation in the "conversation" whatsoever.

I guess it's a return to the very first thing I heard twitter describe itself as: a microblogging service. Blogs of up to 140 characters (280 now, I suppose) posted without comments enabled. How boring. Nobody will bother with twitter once this new "feature" becomes widespread and nobody can actually talk to anyone else. All the "engagement" will disappear and it won't be worth any effort for anyone to use.
 
Twitter lost its way when Jack took over and let the cool kids use and share blocklists.

And what's worse (or better) is that you can see each step that led to this state. The verified blue checkmarks throwing a temper tantrum when the unwashed masses dared talk back to them on any topic from GamerGate to Trump Derangement Syndrome, demanding more and more tools to keep those masses quiet, from block bots to blue checkmark only filters, and now this.

When Twitter is the next MySpace they'll wonder where it all went wrong.

I'm sure they'll realize the downsides when they can't yell at Trump on Twitter to virtue signal. TDS is a hell of a drug.
 
I could have sworn there was a Super Bunnyhop thread here somewhere. But I guess this is the second best place. I had a YouTube recommendation for his latest video and watched it out of morbid curiosity:

Some points from the video:
* The idea that global warming is a fact that's been going on for decades despite being a massively complex problem with very unclear with contradictory doom predictions.
* Conflating the Ozone layer with global warming.
* Republican people bad.
* Accusations that climate change was removed from Civilizations because evil oil sponsors without any actual evidence.
* Arguing that Bush the regime caused gamers to stop caring about the environment and play shooters instead.
* Outright historical revisionism that Climate Change is a term crafted by republicans decades ago to replace global warming that sounds scarier. Which both ignores the fact that global warming became a major factor in the 2010's and that the switch was made once people started asking why the winters got colder if everything is supposed to be warmer.
* Finish the videos by sponsoring a website hosting educational and pointless-fun videos that probably takes massive amount of electricity to run the servers of, and could be easily replaced by regular websites/books. But it's okay because only the government needs to do something about a problem, I really need to watch a video explaining to me why I found puppies cute.

What a shame what George turned out to be. He used to be great when he was doing his CCU series and random games like Morrowind, and now he's just a basic bitch game journo interviewing baby rapists like Schrier and doing whatever the fuck this was supposed to be.

I found out about him in 2014 when he made that stupid video simping for Phil Fish arguing that he wasn't actually a fucking moron and it was actually our perception of him that we hated when he called us all retards and told us to suck his dick and not the real person in front of us.

With Global Warming and Climate Change, I can't even see that as something crafted as some plot to fool people when climate change itself is just global warming under a different name but with focus on more of the climate and how it affects the world. And the Bush regime making gamers stop caring about the environment? How in the hell was the presidency of Bush even able to do? I'll admit to not watching the video beyond going off on the points you list but wew on it all.

The fact the Skyrim Grandma herself actually called them out can give one another example why they shouldn't really trust gaming journalism if the claims they make about a person leaving gets debunked by the person themselves.

Kuntaku also ran with that, and as of this writing, have not updated the article or corrected it.

It's almost as if game journalists don't actually give a fuck about the truth and care more about grabbing clicks and pushing a narrative....

Indeed. Why bother with making sure everything is correct when you can just jump the gun a bit and justify that by whatever number of actual jackass gamers there are, even if the Skyrim Grandma doesn't get as many or even the same kind of assholes some random Twitch titty streamer could get.
