I'll bet this goes back much farther than that. Even if the truth is never, ever revealed, I'm 100% certain that Monica was in love with Vic. It all feels too personal from her (and thus, also influencing how Ron acts) to merely be some sort of professional jealousy.

I'll bet Vic liked her too. How attracted was he to her? Who knows, or cares? But clearly he did like her.

You know, you wanna fuck someone over/stab someone in the back over a bit of money or employment opportunities, and you don't really give a fuck about them (and vice versa), alright. I've seen many examples of such behavior catching up to people in ways they wish it hadn't, but you do you, horse-teeth.

But to do that to someone who's shown themselves to be a friend? Note this isn't about Vic; ignore him being a player in this for a moment and think more generally. Also don't forget there's no talk of any guarantees, or really big money here. So to do this shit to someone that's proven they like you, they give a fuck about you, and they're loyal, I can't wrap my mind around that.

Notably, Erica Mendez is a primarily (solely?) LA-area VA/director, where they've got unions. If the subtitlers aren't getting paid enough there, I wonder what Funi translators are being paid.

As for the social distancing line itself, it doesn't bother me. It just makes me scratch my head that if someone watching this years from now the reference will go over their head, and why Funimation would date their show so.

Isvw propped up a convicted pedophile who try to suicide blame Monica. the fat fuck named spirit junior who harrassed marchi got doxxed to be a fat black nigger Ron, with w history if domestic violence has been dming nick for almost 6 months but got suspended a few days ago. Here's the major autism you missed out.

The minor autism is nick got threatened to get shot up by mba. Senpai is now finding ways to "take down" Nick after getting butthurt for not going on the show, Monica went on a podcast saying she got "the receipts"and Jamie made a joke about school shootings.

Vic stills follow his supposed ex. But its a shame if they did break up, but is she related to ty they got the same last name, like a niece or something.

Now I feel pretty bad for dragging her into this thread again. I just saw the absolute thottery and thought it was funny. Judging by her other posts and her appearance at that con with Vic, she seemed like a nice girl. Sucks that they broke up, but maybe it's for the better. Hope they're both ok.

Since Vic is liking all of her posts still, I hope they're still friends and Vic's not dealing with the breakup in an unhealthy way.

The reason Woke SJWs can infest industries is they don't believe in money. Many of them believe a communist uprising is literally just around the corner. Thus, they don't see any problem working for absolute peanuts... indeed, many of them see the ability to push their politics as being more valuable than a paycheck.

In the greater culture war, you see this in translators who like the ability to "fix" translations before they get to us, or "community managers" (glorified paid forum mods) who work for almost nothing because it lets them purge the community of wrongthink. That sort of thing. Yeah, they're not making a living (some of them literally live in communal apartments) but they're "fighting the good fight." And besides, Daddy's credit card always provides.

And of course, you have the inherent nepotism et all. Once you have a leftist with any power, they abuse it. It's just what they do. And in a company like Funimation, abusing it means hiring other leftists and firing centerists or righties.

An old Maoist trick. Anything cultural must either be reformed to serve the needs of the party (in this case, woke sjwdom) or be burned down so everyone else can't use it.

It could have been a peaceful breakup, as uncommon as those are. Some might not consider this, but sometimes when things might not work out, it doesn't always lead to disaster tier severance. Some actually end out like "hey this doesn't seem to be working out, but we can still be friends." It's uncommon, but it can happen.

Although these are theories based on as of right now little information on this topic, so it would be wise to wait for more information before jumping to conclusions.

My understanding is the translator takes the superior nippon moon runes and turns it into English. Those are the subtitles for the weebs who want to hear Japanese, and is (usually) as close to the original as possible.

For a dub, the script adapter then takes that translated script and uses it as a base for the dub script, which is usually more liberal in the translation (for better or for worse) and also has to fit mouth flaps.

It doesn't really matter, but I'd assume the break up was due to the intense stress involved with the WW drama. Lawsuits and constant defamation and harassment are hard to deal with, and pair that with being long distance and the added drama of coronavirus lockdowns are a pretty good recipe for relationship drama and breakups. It's not unlikely she's been getting harassed by industry people in private which she hasn't publicized, and since Lemoine so nicely doxed her crazies like Lynn Hunt likely also tried to interfere with her work and personal relationships if they could. I'm not saying anything silly like 'she was pressured into breaking up with him by evil kickvic', but just that she likely had a lot of undue stress on her atop any sympathetic stress she felt from what Vic was going through. As they'd barely gotten together before this happened, their relationship surviving even this long is a little surprising.

I hope it was as amicable a breakup as can be reasonable, though. The last thing Vic needs is another bitter ex with an axe to grind.
