The certificate of conference was dated the 17th, but actually it said that they had conferred via email on the 13th.Where are you seeing that? April 17 is when they conferred.
Wouldn't the date they conferred pretty much confirm that they were on top of this before law twits started losing feathers over it?If not, though, and if they were actually right, and Martinez was reading it and realized he screwed up and fixed it with a filing, they completely scored an own goal because of their autistic lawtwit addiction to the dunkerino.

April 13th is when they conferred with the other parties for their previous extension. They cited the same April 13th conference in their latest request because they asked for an extension on the replies at that time, it just wasn't specified in the document.
No one noticed the omission until Pretend Lawyer Martin Bettik stumbled into a Law Twitter thread from the 19th days later not knowing about the extension that everybody else had already seen (or read about) by then.

We will find out in 11 days.So how do you guys think the response is going? With the extension and all
I'm half expecting to see another extension to June 1st, a Monday. We will find out in 11 days.
I have no expectations. I'm just here for the ride.So how do you guys think the response is going? With the extension and all
I think so. But who knows with the current Corona issues? A lot of courts are pushing back deadlines as broad system policies. So they won’t always show up as filings.Vic's response to their response is due this time next week, right?

Nothing about corona should prevent filing documents online. If you filed a motion to extend based on it they'd probably grant it but the briefing schedule as it is stands.
Probably not. Texas is apparently one of the more optimistic States in re-opening shit.i’ve heard some municipalities just blanket auto extend all civil filing Deadlines out 20 30 or 60 days Just to reduce the load on the court clerks as they are trying to work from home or work around more restricted staff. I’m not sure if Tarant is one of those.

Knowing that this was coming doesn't help the feeling of being blueballed one bit.The court of appeals website is down, but we're apparently waiting until June 19th now.
