Does the same apply to transracial people and people with BID who want their healthy legs removed? Being unhappy with your body is more common than trannies would like to admit.

View attachment 1264319

Most people learn to deal with their perceived flaws or get therapy if the emotional pain is too intense. Tranners should probably be encouraged to try to deal with it too before jumping straight to the conclusion that transitioning is the only thing that can help them.
Seriously. They need therapy before anything else.

(Let's be fair here, most people need some sort of therapy, transgender or not.)

Good fucking luck telling them that, though. Most are so convinced of what they are, and they're so entrenched in "trans-friendly environments", that any challenge to their position is seen as a mortal insult. Those same environments are incredibly hostile to any therapist that even suggests someone may not be transgender, while at the same time heartily recommending therapists who are pro-transition. Seriously, it's like a cult, or a political party. Or Animal Farm, for that matter. Two legs bad, four legs good.

It's psychiatrically a bit different from all of that. I personally have no problem with "transracial" people since race is usually a synonym for an ethnos, which is a cultural thing anyway. Unless you're ghetto black sissy or whatever or the moslem wannabe who wants to be force-fed alcohol and pork by zir domme.
Alternatively, you're just pretending to be what you aren't for the sake of clout or assuaging your white-guilt. What was the name of that pasty-ass white lady a while back who became a black community leader by tanning up and perming her hair?

Rachael Dolezal is the one you're thinking of, I believe.

Not all trannies think they're women in men's bodies. People like Blaire White admit they're men and say they are transitioning in an attempt to treat their dysphoria.
Isn't dysphoria literally thinking they're [opposite gender] in a [actual gender]'s body?

I haven't watched many of Blaire's videos but this page gives the impression he's quite sane:
There must be others like that.
lol trusting RationalWiki ...

Here are 30 pages filled with surgeons who work on transgender surgery:

And that's just in the USA

Can we stop with this idea that there's such a thing as (for lack of a better term) true trans people? All of them are insane, no matter how much effort they put into their delusions or how much of a pervert they are.
I think by tranner he meant "tranny who knows they're mentally ill". It's like a schizophrenic who tries to control his symptoms versus one who refuses to take his meds and shits on people's cars while yelling that Oprah did 9/11.

Isn't dysphoria literally thinking they're [opposite gender] in a [actual gender]'s body?
Nah. A lot of them do think they were born in the wrong body but if I understand correctly, at its core gender dysphoria is just being extremely disgusted by your body because it's not that of the opposite sex.

Gender dysphoria is feeling discomfort (from mild to extreme) with one's own gender. And that's it. That's the basic medical definition of the condition.

The related emotions that it manifests can vary wildly from individual to invidual. Some can just ignore it. Others become depressed. Others mentally dissociate and create personas of another gender to live vicariously through. Others self-harm or even attempt suicide. Others overcompensate hard in the other direction and attempt to be hypermasculine/hyperfeminine. Etcetera, etcetera. The human brain is amazingly complex and any minor chemical malfunction can result in major behavioral changes.

Either way, it doesn't mean you think you're the opposite gender. In fact, in most cases they're entirely (and painfully) hyper-aware that they're male/female, and that's the entire problem. The whole thing with a triple-chinned incel neckbeard with purple hair and an undercut deluding themselves and going "I'm a real girl, I swear!" is just that: a delusion. It's fueled by this ridiculous current attitude of never questioning anything related to "self-identification".

In fact, that shit can make dysphoria worse, because the more validation that yes they're totally a pretty princess someone gets from other people, the higher it builds up the pedestal... so when someone comes in and knocks them off that pedestal by misgendering or insulting them, the harder they fall. So you get them bawling their mascara off on twitter because someone called their waistless 250lb frame with a five-day beard a "he" instead of a "she" despite the pretty pink bow they had on their hair.

There's a reason why transition was the last resort before this glut of self-identified or doctor-shopping troons showed up. Even in difficult cases where nothing else worked, a competent therapist would hesitate to recommend transition to someone who clearly wouldn't pass. Those people would usually get stuck with therapy and antidepressant (and possibly antipsychotic depending on their other conditions) medication. The ones with the fortunate genetics to pass with enough makeup or surgical interventions were the ones who transitioned. You can tell because those people who transitioned 10+ years ago usually look at least a bit like women. Ugly women, sure, but none of the hulking brick shithouses in a dress that we see nowadays.

Transition is attempting to treat the symptoms because therapy couldn't sort out the causes. Either way the person still has a mental condition that has to be managed. I suspect one of the reasons why post-transition suicide rates are so high is because the definition up there is actually correct: they feel extreme discomfort towards their gender. So if they change genders and adopt a new one, guess what happens? The discomfort applies to their new gender as well. Managing mental stability and avoiding self-harm becomes the most important part of treatment at that point.

That's way too vague a definition, in my opinion. Most people feel some discomfort with gender roles, that shouldn't imply most of the world's population is trannies.

From what I've seen, the neckbeards with purple hair tend to be non-dysphoric. The ones who flip out over misgendering, too. For instance, Gamestop ma'am has made Facebook posts calling transmedicalists cis bootlickers.

I beg to differ. The old ones are often the worst.

Absolutely. Suffering from mild gender dysphoria doesn't make you a tranny. Or a troon, for that matter. Most people suffer at least a bit of it at some point in their lives, usually during puberty, or when they fail to live up to societal expectations.

Most people get over it naturally. Some people can't. Even those people who can't "get over it" aren't necessarily transgender. They become so when they "accept" the condition and start attempting to mitigate it through transitioning. That's the bit troons don't really get. You can absolutely have (usually mild) gender dysphoria and live a normal life without being transgender at all. Just a cis-person with some level of autogynephilia/autoandrophilia.

I was talking about the people who actually suffer from dysphoria. Transtrenders trying to get sympathy SJW cunt are completely beyond what I mentioned. They're just fucking slimy people who are trying to validate themselves by appropriating a condition they don't have, to the point of delusion. It's like the morons on tumblr who self-diagnosed as autistic just to fit in. Remember those? Yeah, Gamestop ma'am is the hardmode version of that. Consider it a version of Munchausen syndrome, if you want to get fancy with it.

I beg to differ. The old ones are often the worst.

First off, thank you very much for the nightmares tonight. I'm glad I found the tequila after the last round of horror in this thread.

Second, I'm not sure this person actually had therapeutic attention anywhere near them in the past 30 years. If they had, they completely gave up on it arooooound the same time they stopped taking hormones (so, post-2010). I was talking about people who went through the right channels way back, not a mentally-unbalanced freak who clearly has a breast fetish.

Gender dysphoria is feeling discomfort (from mild to extreme) with one's own gender
So ... not to be a dumbass about this, but isn't that still just believing you're something you're not? After all, you wouldn't feel discomfort or disgust with yourself if you were already in a body of the other gender, which suggests you believe you really are, deep down, the other gender and your body just missed the memo.

I guess the argument I'm making here in a dumbass way is that these seem like pedantic distinctions that don't have any meaningful value in this context.

Let's go with another variant of dysphoria as an example: body dysmorphia. According to the wiki,

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), occasionally still called dysmorphophobia, is a mental disorder characterized by the obsessive idea that some aspect of one's own body part or appearance is severely flawed and therefore warrants exceptional measures to hide or fix it.

So, let's say you look at your nose and you feel it's wrong. It's somehow crooked, or too long, or too short, or too wide. Whatever it is. You look at it, you're uncomfortable with it. Other people tell you your nose is perfectly fine, but you know it isn't. You don't think it's something it isn't. You just know it's wrong and you want it changed.
Important Edit: and if you suffer from body dysmorphia, even if you do manage to change the bit of you you didn't like, chances are you'll develop dysphoria again later. Either with regards to the part you already changed, or or some other part of you. That's how you get those people who wear eighteen layers of makeup every day or undergo so much plastic surgery their skin ends up stretched harder than a drumhead and they can barely move their facial muscles to smile. They're dysphoric about their appearance, often because they're aging, and in some tragic cases no matter how much they try they can never fix it.

Gender dysphoria is a similar thing. If you suffer from it, it's not a matter of you think your gender isn't what it is. That's just the usual troon explanation, or an oversimplification by more earnest transgender. But imagine this: if you're uncomfortable and unhappy about being a male, what do you think the rational conclusion would be? That you actually shouldn't be a male. What isn't a male? A female. The whole "I think I'm a female inside" is a symptom that the therapy is meant to attempt to address in some way, and not the source of the disorder.

Feeling extremely uncomfortable with being your gender (gender dysphoria) is what leads to the desire to be (or the delusion that you are) the other gender, not the other way around.

Weeell this goes back to the distinction between sex and gender. Not everyone makes this distinction, but certain anal-retentives (aka terves) will say that sex = physical differences between men and women, while gender = socially-enforced differences (eg clothing, hobbies, hair length, etc). Literally nothing prevents men from growing their hair out or wearing skirts except social convention.

This also shows that gender dysphoria is a too-broad term which encompasses 2 very different things - discomfort with your actual, physical body, and discomfort with how society expects you to act based on your body. A dude wanting to chop his dick off is different from a dude who loves his dick but wants to wear pretty princess outfits.

Pretty sure most women in history felt it when they weren't allowed to wear pants or take on social roles other than baby machine. That's why feminists have worked so hard to abolish gender roles. Ironic that the modern trans movement is trying to cure dysphoria by enforcing gender roles instead.

You might be right. The old horrorshows probably didn't go through the right channels and avoided therapy.

Not really. Think about it this way: Do most people who want to lose weight believe they have a thin soul because they would be happier if they were thin?

Those are great points, too. The distinction between sex and gender doesn't get explored enough -- even more so since some idiots seem to think they're one and the same. And will shout you down otherwise. No kidding, I've seen articles stating that "biological sex is a social construct", and that you are "assigned your sex at birth by the doctor". Not gender. Actual biological sex. A social construct. Assigned by the doctor. Try to parse that if you can.

I was definitely referring more to discomfort with one's actual, physical body. In the past those would be called just transsexuals instead.

For people who are unhappy with social norms and whatnot... well, there's no better time to get that worked out of your system. Men can stay at home and raise kids while women get to work, and I hear this Eddie Izzard guy made a nice career being a crossdresser-- sorry, I think the term he likes to use is "action transvestite". And they can even shop online for women's underwear now, without having to steal their SO's, or try to convince the girl at the lingerie shop that those XXXX-tra large stockings that would fit them perfectly are actually for their girlfriend.

Of course, if the issue is purely social there's really no need to insist you're a biological female like some do. The problem is that shit gets conflated and so an autist who doesn't know their place in the world ends up convinced of and becoming obsessed about being female both in social and sexual stances. That's where the true troonery lies. That is the field where the lolcows are set to pasture.

Eddie Izzard is trans now, just FYI.

TIL but I'm not surprised, to be honest. Well, good luck to 'em. Hopefully they don't lose the sense of humor or instantly make everything about their gender like so many transgender do. I don't have high hopes. The joke stands, though: Izzard was a transvestite for a very long time and nowadays it wouldn't be too hard to get by doing that. Yeah, you'd get weird looks but is it really much weirder than, say... crocs with socks?

Can we stop shitting up the thread with arguments about dysphoria? There is a dedicated thread for such discussions.

Those lips look painful

Jfc, this one wanted permanent duck face apparently. Though, it barely even looks like a duck face anymore. It's more like someone squished David Bowie's face with a rolling pin and stretched it all out. Pretty nightmarish.

To be as obnoxious as troons, transracials would have to demand that everyone agree they’ve always been black and thus despite growing up white should be able to take black people’s scholarships away, be counted as a POC on panels so that the entire panel ends up AWAB, etc etc. That would be quite hilarious, I hope it happens.

Re: duck lips up there. So, the before profile...he’s more feminine looking than most. No crazy brow ridge, no Chaddy or Hapsburg chin, nose if not retrousse like the after is still not a big manly schnoz. And his lips, his upper lip in particular, has the turned up vermillion edge and definition that is feminine. Leave it to a troon to eradicate his feminine traits so he’s indistinguishable from other TIMs who started out with less to work with.
