Whoops seems like you replied before my edit.

Well to clarify it isn't so much about whether it makes sense because that's a can of worms I won't open, but instead I mean that I'm a bit annoyed that they, the fans, took what was supposed to be a joke as some kind of statement on representation.

Say, I'm pretty sure Astolfo just likes to mess with people and not to be called non-binary or whatever. And like you said is just a joke, but the fans treat is as some kind of SJW statement which does bother me a little because you are walking on eggshells if you want to refer to Astolfo as "him".



EDIT: Also I got the gameplay thing wrong. I misremembered the wiki listing him as male. My mistake.

He refer himself as male in Extella Links and for all purposes he is still male but the game like to wank the joke by just giving him a non-gender that the only thing it does is that certain attacks don't hurt him as much

Da-Ji/Tamamo-no Mae/Kayo reveal was Assasin. Kotomine only says that her personality makes her like an Alter-ego

All the Tamamo tails count as Alter egos but because having 6 of them would be boring they have different classes, the summer lancer one doesn't count because that one is just the Caster version with her Saint Graph altered by Scatach

The things about tamamo is weird because according to her she can use all her 7 tails but she would become so incredibly op that would become a Beast class disaster, she put it like if you use it is like killing a flea with a nuke, a shame because i really wanted Amaterasu

What the crap, how is Nasu going to bend the rules to make him summonable? if we follow all the lore he is going to break them really bad

For context is stated that VERY High divine spirits like gods are not summonable by conventional means, the rules were bended a little to make Stheno and Euryale work (they are summoned AT IS but they rank very low), then it was further bended to make Quetzalcoatl work (she is strong yes but not that widely famous), Ishtar,Ereshkigal, Kama and Parvati bypassed the rule by hijacking human host, there is only one case where it ACTUALLY happened

The only case i have see where a high ranked god was summoned was when Nero achieved apotheosis and manage to fuse with Venus to make herself like a Demi Servant but tapping into Venus powers, some of my friends have theorized that this Zeus could be summoned by using someone close to him to achieve the same effect and the only one that fit the bill is Heracles but he was yeeted by Artemis in Atlantis, others stated that this one is just a Avatar of Zeus from the lostbelt aka he is a robot with high divinity

This is Kinoko 'those are the rules BUT' Nasu, he'll make it work. Plus
Arjuna Alter is basically a god considering he absorved everyone but Ganesha, if he's summonable I don't see why Zeus couldn't be.
 
IRCC I think Quetzalcoatl mentioned she is also using a human host. I would've to double-check, but I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the obligatory "weren't you supposed to be male" part as the reason she isn't a guy.

As for the rules yeah That's my only complaint about this game's plot so far. That is that they break the rules at the last second relying heavily upon a lore heavy explanation that was barely explained in the game beforehand

I'm only familiar with Nasu due to this phone game, so I won't say it is exactly an asspull because I'm sure the lore is better explained somewhere else in an anime or something, so I will give him the benefit of doubt, but just playing the game it does feel like an asspull whenever they bring a convoluted explanation to break their own rules

Say the whole explanation of how they beat Tiamat using the underworld, technically does make sense, but all of that came out of nowhere after being told she was unkillable. So the conflict was solved by "revealing" rules about the underworld that were poorly explained until that point.

Same with how Mash was resurrected. The wiki says something about "true magic" and "beasts", so technically it does fit the world, but just going by the phone game the fact that Fou could somehow resurrect people came out of nowhere.

Or is it just me?

Nah, Fate has always been about cool magic stuff happening first and then just finding an explanation for it that fits. Shirou in the original VN doesn't have a mage lineage but all the insane shit he can do with sword magic is explained by him having the sheath of excalibur fused with his body which "turned him into a container for swords."

Also there was a moment in Lord el melloi II case files where Waver redirected lightning magic and then it was explained as "Oh yeah btw I could do it cause I used a chunk of my enchanted hair because long hair looks like snakes and snakes are associated with lightning."

The summoneable one lost all the pantheon he absorbed except I think Vishnu so he just has more divinity than his original self he is not the rape train he was in Yuga keshtra

Thats the problem with Nasu, if you believe the legends he cut infodump needed to better understand the things he does to sell more complemental material, we could probably say "hey thats illegal" but pretty sure there is a case somewhere, for example Shirou, is not stated that if he even has a lineage (he could be like weaver that his family got circuits because one of them shagged a magus), he has magic circuits yes but no one to train him properly in his family specialization he also did not have a Magic Crest (imagine a USB drive where you put all your life accomplishment and can be granted to your kids so they continue your legacy) and Avalon did not "turned him" into a container, it change his origins for whatever he was to Swords, he can trace almost anything (like you see in his Valentine CE where he trace you a entire cooking set so you can practice) but his specialization is swords for plot reasons

This is less than a asspull and more Waver being resourceful, you see he suck three kind of ass at being a proper mage because his lineage is practically new i don't even think his family has a specialization that is why to compete in the Clock tower he perfected his theoretical knowledge, that is why in the anime you see his students easily outranking him because he doesn't the qualifications to rise in the ranks

Same thing i said earlier, but Nasu is not our dear holy mushroom without reason you see almost all the rules about servants are based around the fact that they need a Master to properly function because they need Mana, so as long as there are great quantities of Mana you can dance the rules without destroying the lore, for example people complained about Nero Venus implementation for being potentially rule breaking but they mostly forget that Hakuno has administrative privileges in the moon cell so he can tap in all the mana he wants that is why he can maintain servants like Karna that are in lore stated to be so power hungry that could kill a master if he even get serious or try to shoot Vasavi shakti
 
I know about the origin thing but I think the container for swords comment was from the original VN and I remember finding it a hilarious statement.

Oh yeah i remember that part but people that dont care much about lore only remember the original VN for the hilariously nasu tm sex scenes (some survived the vanillification like that one from HF)
