It depends on who is being critical. You, me, or any other no-name YouTuber who is critical publicly gets shown the door, ostracized and insulted by the manchildren running the movement. Despite claiming that people like Renfamous are thin-skinned and can't take criticism, these guys show time and again they are just as bad, if not worse when it comes to taking criticism in stride and responding to it. Doug, in my honest opinion, was not as bad in his criticism to begin with but ramped it up after TUGboat, EVS, and the rest of his motley closet catamite crew started losing their shit over such banal criticism and began going after him and his ventures directly over it. But Nick Rekieta floats his unhappiness of the Comicsgate crew doing the whole "drama for shekels" thing rather than focusing on their end products--essentialy doing what others like Preston have done--and EVS and TUG come out, falling to their knees and opening wide to suck him off to show they are 100% capable of taking criticism in stride. There's a reason for that, in my opinion: when it comes to personalities like Doug and Preston, they fall into the same niche topics and what-not as comics industry guys and so they have a lot of viewer overlap. Thus, they can lose their shit with those two (and others) because they figure there's nothing more to gain in terms of new viewers and they go in hard and dumb on them. When it comes to someone like Rackets, though, they know they don't have his numbers, they don't have the engagement he does with fans, and they view his fanbase as a potential source of income because most of us aren't paying attention to poorly-drawn books one-step above pop-up books. They hope that over time they'll siphon off more of his viewers because they figure someone like Nick has a viewerbase that is anti-SJW like Quarterpounder and what-not, so they want to focus on that. Even as they tried to weasel into ISWV they've made it clear, in my opinion, that they aren't there to support Vic but rather to use it as another stepping stone in their fight with SJWs; TUG's videos, for example, don't focus on Vic's case but rather the "hypocrisy" and "lunacy" of people like Renfamous (and, by the way, they only took notice of it because of Renfamous talking about it; if she hadn't mentioned it they 100% would not have paid attention at all, as evidenced by the fact they don't talk about it right now unless they can regurgitate the same things Nick says to their own fans in 10-minute videos that manage to provide nothing to the conversation at hand). This is what annoys me the most about these people.
