or the many variants of Jibanyan?Isn't there a ton of diffrent agumons in digimon? I would hate if temtem went that route.

Yet, you can still act if your temtem has doom or is poisoned. If it's put to sleep and the opponent uses mental skills, not only it won't get up anytime soon because mental bypasses that specific effect of sleep, but also it will quickly be killed without letting you do anything. Frozen is the same fucking deal. This game's poison atleast allows you to fight back, but not sleep depending the circumstances and certainly not freeze either. It’s more a game where the creator has confused ‘cheap’ with difficult. There’s a lot of wild level differences and very annoying mechanics.
For example, status effects. Status effects all work on a duration, and cannot be switched out to even delay their ticks. This means that if you get burned or poisoned, you will take that damage, whether you want to or not, unless you use an item. This extends to the doom effect, which KOs any temtem that gets it!
One of the most common offenders is Loali. This temtem will nearly always cast toxic spores on it’s opponents, giving the Poison effect for 3 turns. The poison effect removes 1/8 of your hp every turn. So just by getting hit by that, you’re guaranteeing a loss of a little under half your health. Whether or not you switch out. And even if you rush to kill it first turn, it may have the toxic farewell ability, poisoning whoever KOs it anyway.
Consider that these Temtem were given in two batches 6 months apart, because each island is released about that far apart. Perhaps it seemed appropriate from that perspective?
I’m more annoyed by the Temtem they chose. Aside from the Anahir, which is a single creation, only one of those five remaining temtem is uncatchable by the time you get them, and they don’t use the chance to give you the Earth or digital types which are still lacking in variety. It’s not even hard to catch them in those forms.
Have some screenshots.

“That was awesome!” - Opponent as the camera slides in awkwardly too close showing their mild disappointment. And yes, this was where it stopped.

Sure, the Temtems following me, but all it does is make the same reaction everywhere. To me, one of the cooler parts of HGSS was not just having the Pokémon follow you, but having it actually interact with the environment around it. If a nature temtem in a goddamn volcano doesn’t care, it’s a superficial system.

Once you get a temtem with hypnosis and mental skills you basically won the game.
I wonder if it got fixed though since the wiki now says any skill can wake up your temtem, but I'm still skeptic.
I'm on Tucma now, and let me just say: fuck this place. More details when I get time.
Funny thing is pokemon wack trys something like this as well, and despite it being older then temtem, It has slightly foreshadows it with the design of the rivalTrust me man, you don't know the hard right curve they throw at you.
So, I'm just gonna spoil it here, Max your rival joins up the Evil Clan... For some reason.
And I say for some reason, because there's no proper foreshadowing of him wanting to join up with the clan or even a hint of him wanting to do that. The kid even goes so far as to dress up as your character, even changing his hair style to match yours - and commit crimes under your name...
FOR SOME REASON.
I know that the game is trying to make me hate the guy, and it's doing a terrible job of it. Like, I have no reason to really care if the guy does join the clan, since I don't know why he would. Is it to spite me? Is it to break the world that treated him badly?
Considering that we have about... four scenes with the kid before this happens, and most of them were more typical Rival like instances - I'm gonna be the best, I'm gonna beat you, let's battle - him joining the evil clan makes no sense. Like, a simple suggestion is to just have a cut scene or a part in the earlier game where you see disguised recruiters for the clan talking to people, or handing out flyers, and Max takes one.
At least that'd give SOME foreshadowing.
I've seen a few people praise the game for being a bit darker and more mature than pokemon... Like... really? Are we really going with the whole "darker = better" argument for writing?

Here be spoilers for it if any of you care
Pokemon wack does something like this with your rival becoming part of the evil enemy team. Your rival Zaydolf Has blonde hair, blue eyes, is a artist. One of the evil teams are wacky pokemon nazi's that are the self proclaimed "mustard racers" First head Head you mean for them is a giant boobed thick accented german lady.
Later your rival becomes litterally hitler, and starts up a Purification Camp which the wiki says is to. "'purify the world' and kill all of those deemed undesirable ".
Even Celebi shows you a vison that this was going to happen when you figth her., but blurs out hitler to keep the twist hidden.
Apprently according to the discord for wack zaydolf is under "Mind control".
Enough of me sperging about that It also sounds like temtem is going for the other direction in the rival department.
Where pokemon has for years been heading towards the friendly rival direction.

TemTem sounds like it's going for the Rival you are not allowed to like direction. I hate both ways.
Whoever runs this account is a delusional dumbass I tell you.View attachment 1135131
Oh my god. Ohhhhhhh my god. Do it. DO IT YOU BASTARDS, HAVE YOUR NON-BINARY BLASH BLETCHUM. I WANT TO SEE THIS DISASTER.
It's pretty damn egotistical for a game that just barely game out, isn't even close to being actually finished, and has a very modest playerbase. Even if they backtrack later and go "lol it's just a joke", it's still not one that looks good for them.Whoever runs this account is a delusional dumbass I tell you.
The wiki is in fucking chaos right now. Dunno if you guys are interested.
Dokev is a much greater departure from the formula than Temtem (and quite frankly, the designs in Dokev are worse again). Not to mention, we have no idea when Dokev will be releasing aside from a beta sometime in 2020.PearlAbyss - developer/publisher of Black Desert Online - has been working on their own Pokemon MMO Dokev and announced it a bit back. I'm wondering if Temtem released now to avoid that competition.
Certainly PearlAbyss would have better servers for it.
Ah yes, gotta love that logic. It's what lead to Pokemon reborn, the fangame where the first thing you experience is surviving a terrorist attack on the train you're riding to get to Reborn city.I've seen a few people praise the game for being a bit darker and more mature than pokemon... Wow the denial is real.Off-topic
There were some good posts about Temtem on the Pokemon Griefing thread, what do we do about them? Since I never used Xenforo, is it possible to move comments from a thread to another?
