I love how this person says this like it really matters - The issue was that Yang, up until this point, hasn't cared about her sister. There were plenty of times where Yang should've shown concern, but it wasn't until Ruby had a mental breakdown that she did

The reaction to the truth... Wasn't the issue people had, it was that the RWBY were fucking hypocrites, since they spent the last two seasons complaining about how secrets were kept from them, and they pull this shit.

"There are no consequences in RWBY".

Still aren't as far as I'm concerned. Robyn Hill doesn't have to pay for what she's done.
Ruby still hasn't faced the consequences for lying, since they're acting as if they have a moral highground for trying to tell Ironwood that he's wrong in his plan (not gonna give spoilers on that).

Honestly, if you ask me, I feel as if Ruby and Co AREN'T taking responsibility for their stupidity. It's their fault that caused this situation with Ironwood because for some DUMB reason, they decided that they couldn't tell Ironwood the truth, despite the fact that they should've learned from what they had to deal with... And they aren't really accepting it.

Some fans are just delusional.
If Ironwood doesn't arrest Qrow and Jaune's group in the next episode, I will be pissed. Because they also know the same secret. And besides, not like it stopped him before with that stolen ship and had them all arrested.

Ah, I see you’re familiar with the ways of mid 2000s PS2.

I’m not so sure about the lazy part. I’d say that’s the show abusing “villain sits in lair and relies on minions for everything” cliche. And yes, those minions have been incompetent, as well as lacking in numbers.

I mean, I'll still say it's lazy - Because let me put it like this: Why doesn't Salem have more women on her evil team of evil? She kinda needs them if the relics are her goal, I mean, I assume that's her goal - Otherwise, what's the point here? She'd need the maiden's power to get to the relics. Raven's gone into hiding, and there's no guarantee that Cinder was even alive up to this point for Salem to know about (or if she did, that opens up another can of worms). It's kinda lazy that she wouldn't recruit more people into her clique, especially when she may have lost a powerful member of her team (assuming that Maiden power is really all that's cracked up to be).

If I can go on a small tangent and do a small comparison to another villain in the same role - Lord Zedd, a villain from Power Rangers, did a lot more and still be loads more entertaining in the process. Hell, Lord Zedd was actually a lot better of a villain, he would actually SCOUT ahead and spy on the protagonists, and get inspiration for monsters and plans to use against them, even corrupting things that were close to the protags. Hell, he even tried to make his own evil team of rangers to counteract the protags, they sucked, but hey, it's a lot better than what Salem ever did. He was a part of the same cliche, but he still did more and didn't just rely on his minions to come up with plans.

And if a 20+ year show can do a similar villain, a villain mind you who was so egotistical that his emblem was the weak spot for his mooks that one punch could kill them, and do it BETTER, then I think there's an issue... and why i still believe Salem to be lazy.

*shrug* I guess the critics finally got through to the writers.

Without giving spoilers...you know Price and Soap’s position of standing in COD: Modern Warfare 3? My prediction is Team RWBY will be forced to be that.

Edit: I think this is spoiler free enough to share. View attachment 1103994View attachment 1103995
How much of a pansy do you have to be to be a grown-ass man who was sent hyperventilating by fucking Salem from RWBY?

Leonheart betrayed out of cowardice.
Ironwood betrayed out of heartlessness.
Qrow will betray out of foolishness.

Debate me.
Ozpin is Oz. Leo is the lion. Ironwood is the tin man. Qrow is the Scarecrow. All that’s needed is Glynda betraying and Summer and/or Ruby to be Dorothy and we’re good.

Good luck with Glynda, she's practically been written out of the series since her VA was canned.
Her VA has to have done something that pissed off CRWBY if Glynda barely exists outside of the show. Vic was accused of being a sexual assaulter and he got replaced by someone, what makes them think they couldn't do the same for Glynda?

aight, real talk, why do you guys even like this show?

like I know someone who catches every episode but only ironically

I liked it...years ago. RWBY to me was fast food entertainment in the sense that you could turn your brain off and sorta enjoy it despite all the obvious flaws and it being objectively terrible.
I liked the action scenes, earlier volumes also had a different tone and scale. They also didn't have a bunch of shills pretending RWBY was the second coming of Cowboy Bebop or some shit. The music is also pretty good and the only consistently enjoyable shit about this.
Also back in the day the shipping didn't make people fake suicides.

Currently RWBY is too terrible to even discuss without several layers of autism separating you from it.

Well, they haven’t gone back to Beacon or done anything to have her back. Also, her VA accused someone of sleeping her way to the top.

I think I'm a bit optimistic - There are things that I do like about the series, and it had it's charm, but thanks to the toxic FNDM, and how the staff of the show seems to thrive/encourage this kind of BS, it makes it unbearable to even talk about it or even say what issues you have with it on a public forum without some fantards taking you out of context.

It's not the greatest show, but it had that indie charm - it was an animated anime-esque show that had some really good fight scenes, something that a lot of anime didn't really have.

But... the staff pretty much...

I don't like RWBY for what it is, but for what it could have been, if that makes any sense. The setting, the characters, the themes etc. are all pretty good, unique and interesting on a conceptual level, but have a shitty execution. Just look at my summary of the four main girls for example. Some genuinely good fanwork I have witnessed show that RWBY could have been unironically a fantastic and groundbreaking show if left in the hands of competent writers or even if the right amount of tard wranglers had been present in Rooster Teeth.

Now I just want to see where Miles and Kerry take the show out of sheer morbid fascination and if they can finish RWBY before Rooster Teeth shuts down. They put in a valiant, yet hopelessly inept effort to salvage it, but we're way past the event horizon now. To put it more or less in the words of Nite Owl, the real practical joke is Miles and Kerry didn't idolize RWBY, they mutilated it. That's Monty's legacy.

Morbid fascination with the show, so basically a mix of "I've watched this far might as well see it through to the end," and "I do genuinely like parts of this show and I want RWBY to be more like those good aspects."

Despite the early beginning of RWBY being cliche even by the standards of when it came out, I didn’t start getting into it until Volume 4 stared airing after finally caving in to the recommendations in the YouTube Suggestions pestering me about this series. The thumbnails seemed decent, and I thought that I could binge on the old episodes of RWBY while Volume 4 was just starting up around that time~

I was well-aware of its premise not being anything new or fresh, but I liked the fight scenes Monty did (His passion for his work being noticeable) and the designs of the characters were decent enough~ I like Stock Shonen such as Fairy Tail and Black Clover without a single hint of irony, so RWBY was right up my alley with little issues to have towards it;besides some minor criticisms that could be forgiven.

It went to shit when Volume 5 went down, and now I just watch this trainwreck for a good laugh.
