Know who does still trust the media?

Democrat voters.

I really don't think that's true.

I think at least a fair number of Democrat voters know the media is lying, but they find the lies useful, or comforting. Same with their politicians... they know most of them are phonies, frauds, and hucksters, but the lies are comforting and pleasant to listen to where the truth isn't, so they just go along with it. Remember, one of the things leftists like to fall back on whenever the media deviates from what they want to hear is that it's actually right-wing... look at how some of them are still butthurt about the news media supposedly "cheerleading" the Afghan/Iraq war. They only "trust" the media so long as it's telling them what they want to hear and giving them talking points they can use to echo back at other people and support their own beliefs.

I think it's more accurate to say that rather than trusting the media, the Democrat voters are going to echo the media's "hot stories" while they go to the polls and do what they were going to do anyway, no matter what the media said: vote straight-party Democrat.

I actually decided to ask someone on TV Tropes why in the world Feminism and far Left things have become so invasive and the like, and here's the one-to-one response he gave me:

"People are on average tired of conservatives moralizing and going "if you don't live the way I want you to live, you'll go to hell a sinner." Like, I've had conservatives who've saw fit to say my stringer shirts and short shorts at the gym are "sinful" and "wrong". Whenever Conservatism comes up, its ALWAYS in the context of "get back in the closet, don't deviate from established norms, obey the status quo no matter what". And people just do not want to live that way any more."

Talk about a lack of self-awareness.

So this person's issue is more about LGBT rights and wanting to wear short shorts than anything else. The fuck does feminism have to do with rejecting conservatism, anyway? Outside of "reeee women don't need to be mothers and learn to cook!" or some shit like that.

If you want anecdotal, hang out on some lefty discussion boards. The only ones who usually distrust the media are the ones so far left they believe CNN is right-wing. (Yes. Really.)

Because feminism, like most American advocacy movements, has been coopted by the Democrats into being nothing more than a DNC cheerleader. Therefore like the rest of the American left, feminism has no principles other than to oppose whatever they think conservatives like and lionize whatever they think conservatives hate. How else do you think "supporting Islam" became a lynchpin of the modern feminist movement?

Not just feminism. There's a whole bunch of words that have been stripped of meaning to the point where they are merely cultural signifiers for "good" or "bad". Orwell wrote about this subject.

What’s really sad is that it’s obvious that outside of the occasional bone thrown there way, modern democrats really don’t seem to give a crap about feminism. At least not to the length they “care” about racism. Feminists are a lesser minority to them.

Hell, feminists don't really care about women afaict. Over at the heady site of Jezebel for instance, there are all sorts of articles about problematic TV shows and celebrities as well as endless Trump impeachment fanfic, and yet not a mention of that girl in Florida who filmed her dad abusing her. Something they might actually be able to create enough awareness for and have piblic eyes watching what the legal system and CFS do for the girl.

Anecdotal example of course, but it's pretty much par for the course with the movement. They care more about manspreading and shitting on men than actually focusing on helping women and girls who may need help.

Sorry for heading off topic!

Who is saying that? What does that even refer to?
Ann Coulter and Tucker Carlson among others have complained Trump helped let hordes of violent criminals onto the streets because of the First Step Act, because the act changed the amount of time off a sentence you could get for good behavior from 15% (computed with funny numbers) to 15% (with real numbers). Somehow the prison system had decided that 15% of a year was 47 days rather than what it is in reality, 54. The first step act allowed for people to get this extra time off that they were supposed to be getting, which meant some criminals got out a few weeks early.

The great thinkers of the right then got all this confused with the rehabilitation program the act was also doing, where people take classes and get time off their sentence, which violent criminals are not allowed to do to get time off their sentence. This all led to Tucker, Ann, and others saying Trump lied and let violent criminals out onto the streets earlier.

I see. Thanks for the input.

The impeachment is just Democrats drooling out a red herring to then try and fish it out to tip the scales of justice. The only thing that has exculpated Trump's appalling presidency is him managing to turn the US politics into a reality TV show, and that's the only criterion that'd matter for anyone too disillusioned with US politics by now.

But HL Mencken said that the whole point of US politics was to put on a clown show for the enjoyment of people like him.

Why, he even echoes my feelings towards Elizabeth Warren from the grave!
“A few years ago . . . I encountered a ma’m in horn-rimmed spectacles teaching a gang of little girls ring-around-a-rosy. The sight filled me suddenly with so black an indignation that I was tempted to grab the ma’m and heave her into the goldfish pond. In the days of my own youth no bossy female on the public payroll was needed to teach games.”

I just want to see how these people...oh who am I kidding. They won't be able to handle his re-election. It's impossible. They've invested practically 4 years of their lives thumbing their nose at this man, and it's amounted to little. Still, I definitely would like to know what their response to that likelihood especially in terms of impeachment. How are they going to politically survive in the short term knowing they failed to stop him from holding office for another 4 years? What are they going to do? Impeach him again even if Republicans still have a majority in the Senate?

His victory would force people to sober up, much like Boris Johnson's election as UK's PM has done with the so-called "remainers". People who are adamantly pro-Trump have palpable concerns that affect the country at large. They need to be recognized, as opposed to getting demonized, if the Democrats are to retain their integrity. That would mean ending partisanship in favor of cooperation and compromise, which are the hallmarks of growing up.

...

Nah what the heck, they'll bitch about it anyway!
Bahahahah!.gif

Is Bernie trying to make political slogans in Trump’s style? It sounds an awful lot like “we will build a wall, and Mexico will pay for it”.
