Wow, it is definitely getting harder to pick out who is the patient and who is the enabling family member on that show.

OK, gorls, looks like MSHPL is starting up again. Episode tonight is a "where are they now" and holy hell the fupa they're removing off this woman. After this will be a quick first look at another ep coming this season.

Here's the latest episode, if you're a poorfag like me. Best catch it before it disappears.

EDIT: This fatty says "inscruciating", just like ALR. For fuck sake, people.
EDIT #2: Annnnnd it's gone.

"Hold your damn horses."

EDIT: Just finished the episode. These guys are actually pretty cool and are a breath of fresh air compared to previous folks on the show.

I'm watching it now. I kind of like these two brothers. They seem like good guys who are determined to be successful. And I knew immediately when Dr. Now said that Lonnie needed psycho therapy, he'd get hooked up with Dr. Lola.

Tonight we have Lindsey, about 650 pounds. Bonus: shelf ass. She has previously had WLS.

Funniest line so far: her husband, who has to make sure she's set for everything before he goes to work. "I'm heading to the gas station to get your breakfast."

Lindsey: "I know my body needs and what's gonna work for me." Sure, Jan. It's worked so well for you thus far.

First followup weighin. 618 (28 pounds down). The usual excuses (it's hard, whatever).

Next followup: 599.9 (19 pounds down). Again, the usual: I've been working soooo hard, etc. Dr. Now is not pleased. Interesting factoid from Dr. Now: people who have blown through their first WLS have a 95% failure rate on the second.

Instead of staying in Houston with a friend of hers, she goes back to Iowa, and the first thing that happens is a fight with her husband, and she's talking about how there's no use going back to Houston since she's just going to fail. Paul (the husband) tells her she isn't going to fail and she about bites his head off. How many calories in an average human head, I wonder.

Lindsey goes back to Houston, moving in with Irene, someone who also had WLS, and she's helping Lindsey with portion control and exercising. There's a real friend for you. Paul has been stockpiling beer back in Iowa - but hey, that doesn't mean he drinks all the time. Okay, Paul.

Next followup. Lindsey drives herself and goes to Dr. Now's alone. Ads for OurTime, the new season of I Am Jazz, that fat fab fatty, some other crap like scientology, and Nutrisystem with their personalized plans. Har har, Nutrisystem. Current weight: 517 (82 pounds, total 131 pounds). Not what Dr. Now told her, but we all know he's a big ol' softy. He approves her for surgery, with the condition that she continues to stick to the diet for another two months. He sends her for an endoscopy due to the previous gastric surgery, to have a look.

Wow, her upper thighs are gigantic. The endoscopy shows there is scar tissue around the staples from the first surgery, she's stretched her stomach back out to hold a gallon of food, and her gallbladder needs to come out. But Dr. Now is a champ and thinks they can do a revision on her.

An ad for Charmin. How fitting, since in the Amberlynn Reid subforum, there has been some speculation about how she manages to wipe her ass. Adorable ad for Freshpet with doggos. More dating stuff. Dr. Pimple Popper. Hey, we're getting close to 10 PM. Is Lindsey gonna get the surgery, or what?

Lindsey: "It's starting to feel official and realer." As she, Irene, and her mom bring more of her stuff into Irene's place. Lindsey goes to the hospital and she was four pounds short of the goal Dr. Now set for her, but he's a big ol' teddy bear and decided to go ahead with it. Lots of VO about how she's going to make it count, not screw this up, etc.

Time to slice and dice! Working through lots of scar tissue, and trying not to take too long because of how high risk she is. Dr. Now looks like a very serious little gnome while operating. Irene is waiting, like the best damn friend in the world. Go Irene! They pull out her gallbladder and the part of the stomach they've chopped off. Closing time!

Planet Fitness, the no judgement zone. Irene, best friend ever, is with Lindsey and they are working out. Paul has agreed to start therapy when Lindsey starts.

And that's a wrap. Time for 1000-lb Sisters. What up, Slatons?

Yeah, John and Lonnie (especially Lonnie) are among the most likeable people this show has profiled. I prefer the train wrecks for repeat viewing, but I liked seeing those two working together to get out of their situation.

She was kind of a disaster herself. In some ways, I felt sorry for her husband (despite his drinking). I could totally understand his frustration with her and she had his drinking to throw back in his face, while she is stuffing her face with two plates of ribs, a huge container of mac and cheese and a huge container of mashed potatoes.

Or four slices of pizza, three giant biscuits, and whatever the hell else she was eating as her gas station breakfast. Holy crap, what a ton of food she could put away.

I thought he sounded like that “Oh noooo” gay guy Bruce they bring around, just with an extra 400lbs. I love the garbage train wrecks, and this is the first success story that I’ve actually not been bored by.

There are episodes where I enjoy rooting for them (ie, John and Lonnie). There are episodes that are fun to hate-watch, and bet on how bad they'll fail.

Lindsey was neither of those. She was thoroughly boring. Not particularly likeable, but not worth making fun of either. Just sadly uninteresting. One hour with her story would have been plenty.

I was surprised at how well Lindsey carried her weight. I mean she looked like shit but she didn't look 647lbs or whatever she started at. She must be like 6ft tall or something; compare how she looked to Tammy Slaton. Sounds like most people itt have seen this ep already but here it is in case

e: ...well that was fast :'(
