It really isn't hard to cook shrimp or any shellfish for that matter. If anything, shrimp is easy to cook. Salt, pepper, old bay, toss it in a pan with some hot olive oil and cook till pink. Or is that mushbrain kicked in and he just refuses to cook red meat?

This sort of thing works better with puff pastry, but I doubt any of the Scalfanis have the patience or skill set to pull it off. They probably used some kind of crap Pilsbury dough for theirs.

Like... my dad does that in the lead up to Thanksgiving (though mostly because turkeys are so darn cheap in November) and he'll make turkey every thursday in november until Thanksgiving and it's a full Turkey Dinner with all the Trimmings, picking the three or four we liked best in the lead up.
