Guys I dont think we have to worry about this gen because even if they dont fix it in the sequels Dyna Sword and Giga Shield, we can wait a decade or two for them to remake it! I'm sure by then ALL the models will be new, they'll have NATIONAL DEX, and they'll have LEARNT THEIR LESSON.

The game was leaked. It's out there. People have already got it working on emulators right now. This shouldn't even be a question, the Pokemon community has been doing this to the series for years.
There is no excuse or justification for this, the models are the exact same. That fight is over and you lost. No amount of conspiracy will change that.

Thats what I am thinking, they knew this would happen, essentially being a game over for PR for this game, its why it all happened after the leaks
as for the whole "its a japan thing" they didn't even really make a public statement to the level they did in the west, I know they put out a tweet and a famitsu interview but they didnt talk about this in directs or anything, they were trying to sweep this under the rug
Hell they should of told people from when Gen 8 was announced publicly instead of trying to dodge the it as hard as possible
All of this would of been fine had they just stuck to two words "technical issues" and kept saying that. the more you talk the more easy it is to be caught in a lie.
as for harpies make the smt 4 guy design it if it loo and it will be diamonds.

I like the idea, but that's Metatron, maybe for a different design. I mean, if you guys want me to, I can share the design probably tomorrow (i'm in between shifts atm) that I had in mind.

I was referring to that style in general, if you make something like a harpie or an angel mon I want it too look abit out of place compared to normal kinda like if it was other worldly in a sort of way I think megaten captures

Ugh... Reading her posts makes me sick. Especially about the part where she (and many others on both sides of the argument) say to just not buy the game. Nintendo, TPC, and Game Freak already got paid for the games when retailers bought them and all that a consumer sale is doing is giving most retailers a $5 profit on their investment in this year's Pokemon game. That's why more recent games have been reporting how many units SHIP instead of how many have been SOLD.

Though I'm at least glad that some people are calling her out on her bullshit.

Honestly it's a little bit of all 3, Game Freak for not adapting to new tech, Nintendo for not having another holiday release for the switch, and TPC overall for making the annual releases a pattern now
Though I will give TPC this, they are trying to make the other media like the anime and TCG less reliant on constant releases so that's an improvement, though since TPC has gamefreak as a part of its owners IDK how much each party controls

Which makes people jumping the gun to use them as a scapegoat for all of Pokemon's shortcomings make even less sense.

This is a fascinating drama storm to watch. On one hand you have Pokemon fans pissed off that Game Freak screwed up the most basic thing and noticing flaws they previously didn't notice in the game. On the other hand corporate apologists who believe that Game Freak can do no wrong are out in full force on Twitter, fighting with the Pokemon fans who feel burnt. My favorite fanboys are the ones shutting down discussion of this on Discord servers they run because the truth hurts.
The corporate apologists are interesting, because they remind me of so many of the ones I've seen for other dying franchises. I've seen some in multiple groups start yelling about "gamer chuds" because they decided not to buy a $60 game because they looked at it and thought it was going to be a piece of shit. Some groups have banned discussion of this entirely because the admins can't take someone making fun of their favorite video game. They're calling it toxic to think that it's a waste of money. They're not defending this mass marketed game making billions of dollars because it's a good game, they're defending it because they feel it is their duty to buy and consume more products.
Kids of course are going to buy it because they beg mom for anything they see commercials for, and so will those who buy anything with a brand name they like in it. But a lot of longtime fans will just play other JRPGs where more money went towards the game itself and less towards marketing and paying off reviewers.
It's fascinating too because when Nintendo was fucking fans over, these fans were doing marketing and hyping up for free.

There's a reason Pokemon leaks are from sites like 4chan and Reddit. It's because Nintendo fucked Pokemon fansites hard when they were leaking the new Pokemon years ago. Before this, that year was loaded with Pokemon leaks left and right. Imageboard posters from Japan dumped new CoroCoro magazine scans and phone photos early. There was the Pokebeach theater incident where the admin posted a photo of a new Pokemon depicted in some movie and caused infighting between Japanese imageboard posters and Bulba/Serebii as they didn't get the latest Pokemon first. Perhaps the most notorious one was when an insider was leaking Pokemon from Black and White, one by one to fansites with drawn fanart of the sprites. What really made Nintendo finally bring the hammer down is when a few days before the Japanese release fansites dumped sprites of all the new Pokemon.
It's fascinating too because when Nintendo was fucking fans over, these fans were doing marketing and hyping up for free.
