Yeah this is definitely one of those lolcows who are more upsetting or horrific than funny. :(

I didn't know the things @Android raptor mentioned about round ups, I leave this thread with even more feels.
Roundups are one of the most horrifying and appauling things done to animals IMHO. Abolishing them has been one of my biggest pet causes since I was a kid.

Whats awkward is that in his reptile room video, boaman is wearing a shirt for a notable anti-roundup org. On one hand we need all the help we can get, but on the other I don't think a guy like this is a good example of who supports this cause.

I'm in the same situation except with a burm instead of a tegu. The ones I've interacted with had such wonderful personalities (I especially love their curiosity) and the huge size is pretty neat, however I don't have anywhere near the resources for one right now. It'd be like having a kid right now, which is a horrifying thought.

I worry what will happen when this kids burm starts getting massive (assuming it lives that long).

Never had a Burm because I knew it was just too much work, but I was extremely attached to both my Iguana and my Blood Python and did everything I could to keep them healthy. I lost the former to old age (took her off an old guy I used to do some work for when she was already 8 years old) and the latter to circumstances I had no control over. I might go for a Savannah Monitor as my next, but I plan on a Tegu as sort of being my pet after I marry, have children and have adequate finances and time for it.

In this video we see fatass manhandiling is red tegu. A couple things to note, one it does not want to be held. It is clearly uncomfortable with Sir Chunksalot and it wants back in its tank. Two, see how dry its skin is? These lizards might be desert dwellers, but they need at least 60% humidity. Thirdly, notice its lack of claws? Another sign of dehydration.

SUPPORT ITS LEGS AND STOP SQUEEZING IT, YOU MOUTHBREATHING FAGGOT. NO WONDER ALL YOUR ANIMALS HATE YOU.

From the way he talks and acts (from what I've seen in this thread), he is extremely ignorant and likely attaches to any pro-reptile group because he thinks it's cool, without understanding the actual issues.

To be honest I put slightly more responsibility on the parents. I don't know how old or functioning he actually is but even with a totally functional child, it's up to the parents to teach them about pet care (through extensive research of their own), especially with pets like reptiles. It's clear from these vids that the guardian figures in the house don't care about the animals and see them as toys.

Maybe it's naive of me to get all BUT THE PARENTS but I feel like if the parents were more clued up it would have rubbed off on the kid, at least a little.

Anyone else getting this vibe from him?

I can't even finish this video. The tegu is obviously not comfortable and being squeezed way to hard. These lizards may start off little and docile, but especially the Red Colombians can turn into really aggressive and anti-social creatures if they aren't properly socialized and still get pretty big. I can't even make a joke here because I'm that fucking disgusted, I just legitimately do not like this guy.

Maybe the parents are retards, too. He inherited it from somewhere. For some reason, they somehow seem to have a lot of money to spend on what I imagine are some quite expensive exotic reptiles.

The kid is definitely some kind of stupid, though. They might be, like Chris-Chan's parents, coddling him because of autism or some other shit. In any event, he is the reptile equivalent of Lenny from Of Mice and Men.

I'd hope he got struck by a king cobra if he got one, except that would probably be the end of all the helpless critters.

Shame on this guy's parents, whatever their motivation for enabling this shitty behavior.

Watching this guy obliviously mistreat his pets is fucking infuriating. I don't own any reptiles, I have little interest in owning reptiles right now, and my only experience with reptiles was owning an anole once when I was too young to properly care for a reptile, which was really fucking stupid and to this day I still feel terrible about it when I think of it. Seriously, fuck this kid.

:cryblood:

I wonder if he's also one of those idiots that keeps his savannah monitor on super low humidity because for some reason he thinks savannah = desert (which is something that will slowly and painfully kill them). With all the stuck shed I have the bad feeling he is. Hell, does he have any thermomitors or humidity gauges on his enclosures? I didn't notice any.

Speaking as a literal sperg, his autism has little to do with this. Autism doesn't prevent you from researching the proper care for these animals or listening to more experienced keepers. That's arrogance and his desire to aqquire the animals as soon as possible because he sees them as objects, combined with horrificly enabling parents. It also doesn't make you loose your shit at people who tell you how you should be caring for them.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like this guy is literally the reptile version of ForeverKailyn. Acts like he's an expert when he makes amateur mistakes and refuses to listen to people who try to correct him, buys things related to his special interest on impulse and on his parents dime, hell the way he talks is pretty remniciant of her. Only instead of inanimate objects its living creatures :'(

Here, let me upload a video of a blue-tounged skink having a birthday to balance out the horrible.

There's still babytalk in there but this lizard looks healthier and happier, and he really likes yams.

Tbh I think baby talking with pets of all kinds is just a normal human thing. Hell, I babytalk to my roaches sometimes. The difference is responsible pet owners don't combine the baby talk with gross neglect of their pets needs.

Yeah, that's true. I babytalk my cat like nobody's business.

A-boo-boo-boo.

He hasn't uploaded anything in 5 months. I wonder if anything happened? I hate how anyone who points out that the reptiles aren't being properly cared for usually gets told "HE'S AUTISTIC LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!!" as if autistic people are exempt from any kind of responsibility. I always hated that mindset. Sure, if an autistic person commits a social faux-pas and doesn't realize it, that's understandable, but what's wrong with wanting to teach this kid how to properly care for his snakes and lizards? I bet if he was hoarding furry animals like cats or hamsters and not caring for them, everyone would be up in arms.

His fingernails are also disgusting. I thought Mylarballoonfan had putrid nails but his are the worst I've ever seen.

I had to mute it and I wish he wouldn't keep grabbing at the lizard while it's eating, but other than that... it's quite cute. Especially when the lizard's eating the mashed yam messily.

She only really grabbed him just to make sure he wouldn't fall off the table, really.

It is super cute.

^Oh, okay. I guess I just assumed because of his previous behavior.

Well, now I have the urge to watch animal videos!

The skink video isn't a product of boaman. I believes its from the mod of http://rate-my-reptile.tumblr.com , which is basically the only good tumblr left.

If it was boaman there would be manhandling, terrified lizards, and no nice birthday foods.
