425 on the cart, is current year and we can update games after release. Like how Sun and Moon launched with just the regional Dex.

I'm not sure (GF really needs a PR person, this bitch fit could be a lot more tame it's they were so shit about addressing it), but I wouldn't be surprised if we got more in patches after the fact.

I'm just saying that I think people are buttmad and acting like simple things are fucking war crimes. The bridge one is the perfect example, they are half way between bridge and field, had the fight been on the bridge the Dexit spergs would of had the same reaction.

I'm just gonna wait to see, and am expecting it to be fine.
I understand how you feel man, but it's best that you just let everyone get it out of their system than trying to argue against it. If you want to try the game out, go ahead, otherwise it's best you just sit things out.

Even without the Dex the game has the same problems as sun and moon had, too many info dumps, routes looking linear as FF13 with no side paths, now with new problems like a lack luster soundtrack, and being really short. If this was 40 bucks or some shit it might be acceptable but they are charging a full 60 for a game that more or less has the same problems as one of the most contested games in the series. Add in the Dex stuff, the exp share fuckery, all the shitty PR, and overall Galar feeling like one of the most bland reigons in the series and you get the shitstorm going on now

It's working! Unlimited fucking power, baybee!

Please, people have been complaining for about 6 months at this point. It almost seems like we're in it for the long haul.

I not really trying to argue against them, I get what their upset at, just think it's a bit overblown and nitpicky.

For example:
A pokemon game that isnt feature complete on cart is literally just as bad.

I like Alola, I think that exposition bits ran a little long and were a little too frequent (I think Black and White suffers the same). Sun and Moon launched exactly the same, other than that we knew the national Dex was coming a few months later. The complete Galar experience is on the cart. Saying that this is so awful, by a qualification that applies exactly to the old game, I think is just trying to justify a petty anger.

I dunno, maybe it's cause I grew up poor with friends only into Pokemon briefly. I couldn't trade in old Pokemon, I could import Pokemon from last Gen into the post game of the next on my single DS, but there first time I ever did was when a coworker help me set up a fully custom team for my second Heart Gold playthrough.

This is the Pokemon experience to me, they create a world of Pokemon that you pick and build a team out of, and I think in so far Diamond/Pearl were the worst experience to play through.

The music hasn't been brought up much, but does this mean there's no bagpipes anywhere in the soundtrack? :cringe:
It's kinda forgettable, aside from toby's track and marie it all kinda just feels stock and generic or at its worst kinda a cluster fuck like bede's

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I'm just not feeling it. I dunno how to explain it, but I'm just not really jiving with this soundtrack. I wanna be able to take away at least a few noteworthy soundtracks from the game, but they just go over my head and aren't sticking.

But I've said it before that I never felt like any music past Gen V has really stuck with me. It's like ever since they moved to 3D, the music took a hit, and I'm not sure why.

Just let Toby Fox make the music from now on

OffTopic, but why does it seem each time Toby helps with the music for a game not by him, it turns out mediocre? YIIK, Town, SWSH. Only Smash Ultimate survived

you can throw homestuck in even though that's not a game but an entirely separate cluster fuck, the guy has a reverse midus touch towards people. unless its smash like you said since surprisingly the sans mii costume is the best in the game.
>says its a cluster fuck
>posts kino

Really confusing bro.
To each their own but to me it kinda sounds like they slapped 3 different tracks together and this was the result

Gen 7 for as flawed as it was had some good ones, gladion's theme was good, and the champion theme was pretty good.

Has anybody figured out how shiny hunting is going to work in this game (ie. a certain gimmick to help like SOS battles), or if it's the same as previous gens?

You do know that he composed the megalovania for smash ultimate right?

So, does anyone know if GF or Pokemon Company has claimed they will add more Pokemon to the game post release via patch? I don't like to operate on assuming they will patch in Pokemon down the road, it's a case of "Just because they can and should, doesn't mean they will." Which makes me hesitant unless they've already claimed they have plans to patch more in later. (And just because they've done similar things in the past doesn't mean they'll do it now.)

They have been pretty tight lipped, so it's all speculation. I am in the camp that they will, especially if nothing else a couple more legendaries (a cute non-aggressive Mew/Celeb/Jurachi/etc), and a Genesect like badass.

I could see more than that coming in promotion of the raid mechanic.

They specifically said they had no plans to do so. They said each game will have a fractional dex going forward. This is their position as of Nov 10th.
Buy Pokémon home.

This is why I'm concerned let's say hypothetically you're right and there's no confirmation... Why did't they confirm this with the backlash of the cuts.. Makes me heavily suspicious. It makes little sense not to confirm it unless...

I've heard similar claims (not that I can confirm them) and if this is the case they've lost their minds.

Shinies are a confirmed 1/250 chance without the ehiny charm, like in LGPE. They do not appear shiny in the overworld.

Edit: the datamind also confirmed the Bulbasaur and Squirtle lines are in fact in the code, as well as two blank Pokemon slots which will presumably be DLC mythicals. Blastoise gets Shell Smash and Venusaur gets Earth Power and Weather Ball.
Imagine being GameFreak's favorite shillmon with two megas, a gigantomax, an item that protectd against hazards and a +10 BST to every stat and still being irrelevqnt to your brothers

From another perspective, it could be why they are trying to shut down the leaks. What's on the cart isn't all that they have intended, and they want to quash the rumors.

They've been piss poor communicating this whole time, they're Japs, they tend to do things their own way that doesn't make sense. It's kinda why people like Nintendo, they try to do weird things that seem stupid, and half the time it works and makes them a pile of money.

It's why I'm not reserving my judgement on what's found on the early leaked cartridge. Perhaps Home is going to fill some of this niche, but they aren't ready to announce it. What if home let you play Pokemon battles, separate from any game? You collect and trade them there, and then fight battles. Something akin to Arena for MTG.
