Return was great for Normal types who didn't have better STAB options. And while it usually isn't very useful for story stuff most of the time, Hidden Power is essential to competitive play for the sheer coverage it can provide. To name a couple examples, Electric types are notorious for their lack of coverage, but HP can give them an Ice or Grass move to hit would-be counters. And HP Fire is what made Magnet Pull such a good ability for mons like Magnezone, as it can trap and eliminate other Steel types with such a combo.
 
Sometimes im astounded by how big of cock suckers pokemon fans are.

As for moves getting cut, Its about variety, it i want to play a pokemon game woth 50 moves ill play smogon shit.

Seriously, if they had kept to the 2d style of BW2, with the animated sprites - the following complaints wouldn't happen:
1) No limited dex - Sprites wouldn't take as much data, obviously
2) The sprites would be a lot easier to develop as well as the pixel art, and more could be put into the games
3) 2d sprites are still applicable today - Heck, make a game like Octopath traveler style for PKM

The 3D trainer and Pokémon models just look completely dead-eyed. They don’t put nearly enough effort into the animations for the 3D models to not look a little bit creepy, just sitting there in their idle loop. The 2D trainer sprites ironically are way more expressive, because they leave room for the imagination - whereas in 3D you just SEE them staring blankly back at you, so it’s hard to fill in emotions/personality when there demonstrably is none.

I just want someone to make a plinkett-esque review of these games and focusing on how the SUMO structure is shit for player engagment but the only vidya analysis that exists are 10 hour video essays by a guy who sounds barely alive or "HAHA FUNNI MAYMAY VIDEO" I want someone to go through this game with a fine tooth comb without being a humorless prick

Mostly the obvious Z-moves and the Pikachu/Eevee Let's Go moves, but they've also cut essential staples like Hidden Power and Return. What the actual shit are they doing?

And they also cut Jump Kick, right after my boy Dodrio acquired it last gen for some much-needed coverage. Nice to know GF is basically pissing on my favorite mon's grave.

At this point they might as well just get rid of friendship values as all they do is elongate evolution times with a hidden value if it doesn't even have return or frustration to pay off with.

Like, I would totally pay top dollar for a full on pokemon game where you played as a character like Wes.

But, back onto point, Yes, those games did prove that 3d pokemon games can work, yes, those games should be handled by the people who made them (Genius Sorority) - But I would like to point out that Genius Sorority has shares owned by both Nintendo and the PKM company.

From what I understand from research, Genius Sorority has been working on their own projects like Denpa Men. They were also responsible for the mediocre Dragon Quest Swords for the Wii.

Granted, I don't know what they're doing now, but you would think that Nintendo and Gamefreak would work in tandem with this company. Especially considering that a lot of the workers from Genius Sorority were from companies that worked on the Dragon Quest series.

I genuinely believe at this point game freak just wants to do as much as it can without outside help, not realizing how much of a recipe for a disaster that is in the HD era.

This just convinces me that (along with the forgen status some of these mons have in data) that they were planning on adding the nat dex but ran out of time, probably working on the leaves or some stupid shit since yeah gen 1 starters make sence, but why gen 7's

I get why people are salty, I'm not gonna defend that GF isn't fully capable of making a much more polished final product.

I just think people are fucking ass blasted cause they like the Gen they started with, and want to play with the same Pokemon.

It looks fine to me, I like a lot of the new Pokemon, and I'll see how it is to play. Currently I think it'll be fine, and am assuming that what's on the cart isn't there whole list (like Sun and Moon)

its still only 425 bro. people are pissed because this is supposed to be the most impressive pokemon on a real console. But we get a half baked flop.

425 on the cart, is current year and we can update games after release. Like how Sun and Moon launched with just the regional Dex.

I'm not sure (GF really needs a PR person, this bitch fit could be a lot more tame it's they were so shit about addressing it), but I wouldn't be surprised if we got more in patches after the fact.

I'm just saying that I think people are buttmad and acting like simple things are fucking war crimes. The bridge one is the perfect example, they are half way between bridge and field, had the fight been on the bridge the Dexit spergs would of had the same reaction.

I'm just gonna wait to see, and am expecting it to be fine.
