I feel like GF doesn't understand how much of a weeb hellhole the world has become. Nerd shit is popular now, pop culture is god damn everywhere there's literally no escaping it. As much as I like fleshing out other pokemon regions and expanding their universe, they could literally just take any animal and anime-fy it and it would be a hit. It reminds me of japanese people trying to make american names.

Like they tried but they don't understand what they're doing in the slightest. I know Japanese companies are brutal to work for, but do these people not get time at all to play any other video games? With how understaffed they try to make it sound I'd guess no, but like.... there's no excuse for how this game has turned out. Sure, it looks fantastic for a pokemon game, the environment that is, but as it's 2019 that isn't saying much at all.

jesus they really didn't balance the exp share, level difference is already pilling up early on
also this sound track is the most Meh since X and Y, a lot of the music sounds like stock music on Imovie or something
camping gives you exp oh god why
like why is bede level 13 when your starter gets to level 19

Bede is also tsundere, apparently. Maybe a brat, I dunno, just got to him losing. But what the fuck, seriously? Did they just misunderstand the complaints of "your rival/gym leaders are overleveled", or that people are sick of grinding (when it's never been easier tbh)? Can't believe they thought passing out EXP like it was candy just to keep your team "equally balanced" was a good idea. And there's no way to turn this off?

From everything the leaker has shown everything about how the game sounds is so unsatisfying, the music, the menu sounds being piercingly loud, the sound mixing, like sound design is important to making a game feel great and it just fucks it up. Call it nitpicking but when I need to mute your game due to how bad your music is I consider that a fuck up.

Game freak probably thought the grinding complaint and just thought exp share would stop it, not realizing that you had to balance trainers around this as well. Shame since characters like Bede are kinda adorable but trapped in a shit game with a slow story from the looks of things so far and don't really pose a challenge due to over leveling as well.

Game Freak would never do this, but I always thought that it might be neat for Pokémon to have a Mario Maker like system where people could modify the campaign and tune trainer difficulties, etc.

I like the RSE era Romhacks, but that day is basically over since the barrier of entry to modify the modern games is too high. Black and White 2 at least had a higher difficulty mode, and there’s no reason they can’t put in a little extra work for something like that each installment.

That'll most likely be a little too complicated to put into a system like that. These games aren't like the legend of zelda or super mario, their Turn-based RPG mechanics are a little too intricate to just simplify into some assets for the players to mess around with and use to make their own "mini pokemon game".

The caves are just called mine #1 and mine #2. It seems they are just straight paths. Why even give an escape rope if you can’t even get lost?

I don't understand why there can't just be a difficulty setting. Surely GF can take a break from all that rigorous tree modeling and pointless minigame that nobody will play programming to balance a higher difficulty mode.

Fuck, even if you just ratcheted up every NPC mon in the game by 5 levels people would probably appreciate the option if nothing else.

And we have been playing Pokemon for around 25 years and you still can't skip the fucking tutorials. Even Zelda, whose tutorials were longer than War and fucking Peace, caught on that nobody wanted to fucking do them.

"Have you ever played a Pokemon game before?"
>Yes
>No

"Select a Difficulty."
>Jr. Trainer
>Veteran Trainer

Instant massive improvement.

Game Freak basically came clean now about cutting the roster for Pokemon Home subscriptions. Japanese have gone batshit, we have hit trashfire levels here. In response to #thankyougamefreak Japanese fans started created #fuckyougamefreak and it seems to have really taken off. The Great Pokemon Autism War has begun!

Imagine finding a shiny in the wild area but you cant get it due to not having enough gym badges due to them being over your level cap

One thing I noticed in the bit and pieces I caught of the stream was how abrasive the little "found an item" jingle is. It made me uncomfortable every time the player picked up an item, which was unfortunate because during the short time I was watching they found several. It felt like the game was mad and wanted the player to feel bad.
It's such a bizarre thing to screw up because it's been the same few notes every game and they've never screwed it up like this before.
Nintendo Ninjas finally killed the channel. Anybody got an archive of the stream? I'm curious if the numerous graphics errors were fixed or if we still have shit like floating walls and arm bands phasing through trainers' arms.

because quality control doesn't exist when you are a small indie dev pls understando
heres the yt version of it

some of the menu scrolling was like that too, its seems too high pitched then it usually is, it's ear grating

someone did us a favor and made a channel for it, best to archive everything before the Ninjas finish the job

Apparently, you need enough gym badges to catch certain leveled pokemon, the dude got a message saying that he could catch up to level 25, found a level 27 Sneasel, and it refused to catch it. IDK how true this is, I just read it on Reddit but if it's true, and I assume that is. That is a terrible feature, especially in the wild where over leveled pokmon are supposed to show up...

If you're referring to the water ripples... Those have been a thing in PKM for a while now. Those were used to indicate fishing spots in SuMo. If that's not what you're referring to... *Shrugs*.
He's referring to how the scene went from fishing at a dock to suddenly teleporting you to an open grassy field where there's not a drop of water in sight. Recent games have been pretty good with reflecting the battlefield in relation to where you are in the overworld so an instance like this is, strange to say the least.
