There's a surprising amount of new pokemon with cartoony dot-eyes and I hate it. My first and winning gen was Gen 2 and there were simple designs featured there but there was a visual appeal to them despite that. These designs look like they were cobbled together in a day without multiple quality-control critiques.

....this might be the legit first generation that I decide to pass. I don't even like the Starter evolutions.

defiantly at launch of swish I'm gonna pass but the good thing about having a launch switch is that I can just get another one when its dirt cheep and just use the old one to play shit games since there is nothing nintendo can do to patch the console.
Don't give a fuck about online features for pokemon so I'll just play to see if its sun and moon levels of shit

No Tapus?!

Thank god. Tapu Koko rain teams were a fucking nightmare. Stall teams might actually be usable again without Tapu Fini as well. Don't know if it's popular opinion or not, but if they end up cutting megas too, I'd be onboard for that. I think Megas are cool and all, but they made casual playthroughs too easy and they ruined competitive play.

One of most surprising cuts is the Chansey line though. I thought Chansey was fairly popular with fans. I know it 's going to have huge implications on the competitive scene. Chansey/Blissey have been staples for over 20 years and now they're just gone. Brave new world were living in.
Once I saw that Blissey was gone I had to wonder how many of the cuts were similarly strategic in nature.

The upside is that breeding should be wildly simplified for those looking to start competitive play.

I personally like most of them (as with most gens), but I can understand people not liking them when they're at the expense of tons of other pokemon being removed this time round.

It never used to matter before because you could always use the things you liked.

Is that a baby Charmander? That'd be cool if it's the offspring of his Charizard.

Oh god these games are a moving train wreak
66% of the dex cut, for some reason including the elemental monkeys in galar, all the new designs are mostly shit like this

Is it just me, or most of these new Pokemons just look... off?

I mean, like, they don't even look like Pokemon, they look more like random monsters from a low-budget phone game

To be fair I wish that third evolution is a real Pokemon instead of some of Pokemon shown here. But when it comes to designs every generation is going to have its fair share of duds that people will point when talking which gen is the worst and people had also shit on the latest gen since at least gen 3 it not something new to me. I probably just skip this game until things have changed for the better or it is at a low price because it shows not alot of promise especially since I am not paying 20 more dollars for game that looks like and probably have as much content as if Pokemon never left the 3ds.
