Probably why I'm not bothered by the cut is in the same way. I even take it so far as to include an extra nuzlocke rule where if a Pokemon survives the Elite Four, it's forever retired from Nuzlocking, and I can pass them if they appear on a route for a different Pokemon.

I'm not as bothered by the cut for the same reason. Doing a different team for each run means that I'm free from the autistic curse of needing to find specific pokémon or the game is ruined. Playing with the same or substantially similar team each time is boring.

Mainly I'm not happy that they lied about how they needed to do the cut because of taking so much time on their shitty animations. It's the same 3DS models, same animations, and then a gimmick battle feature that will be completely abandoned by the next cycle of games.

I'm just curious as to how the anime's going to portray Gigantimax, if they'll be able to make it decent enough for a bit more people to warm up to it, and if competitive players are going to take advantage of it to come up with strategies. I think outside of some really horrendous design choices, many naysayers don't like it simply because we haven't seen what it looks like in action, just snippets, and the leaker hasn't exactly shown us that. I'm not a personal fan of it, either, it really looks like GF's super close to having broken the game just through that gimmick alone, but if a normal-sized Pokémon still has a chance of taking down a Gigantimax Pokémon like with Mega Evolved Pokémon, I can tolerate it.

But that also depends on how often it's going to be utilized in the game. At least with Mega Evolution, outside of the time Korrina practically forced you to use it in a test battle with her, I very rarely had to use it so I was able to take down Mega Evolved Pokémon with the right moves. Z-Moves are a one-time use and honestly felt more natural in comparison (it at least fit within Alola's unique environment), so I never minded it, but it was still something I didn't always feel like I had to use in order to get out of a pinch, and any time it was used in battle and knocked out a team member, I at least had a back-up. But my biggest concern about Gigantimax is that I might not get to make that decision to avoid using it, and it sounds like a crutch I just don't want to rely on.

It would probably have some weird ability or poor stats to balance it though sorta like shedninja
Though design wise I would imagine a Normal ghost would look like the most common ghost archtype in media, like a cross between casper and the ghostbusters logo.

I mean considering how the anime portrays things and how its a projection, expect it to be like a green lantern construct but with a small rodent instead of aliens and will power replaced with the will power of the bond of the trainer and pokemon.

My dude it's a Pokemon game not fucking Auschwitz. There's people who are predetermined to hate new Pokemon games because they're not the old Pokemon games let's be real.

There's enough good new mons that i might have a nearly all new Pokemon team, which is more than I can say for the Kalos and Alola dexes. Imo that's a win. Now if I'll enjoy the actual story and playthrough? We'll see.

While I still don't know how to feel about the pokemon I could probably ignore the ones I didn't like, however, literally everywhere I turn people are being vitriolic and I more meant that if they're acting like it's the end of the world now I couldn't imagine how they act after they paid for the game. Maybe it would be different, maybe they'd accept them, maybe not I don't know, but with things as they currently are I can't imagine they'd have been happy. You can't please everyone, the whole "Why does Charizard get a gigantimax when Venusaur and Blastoise don't? We're done with Charizard and gen 1!" shortly followed by "Why is the only starter from other regions Charmander, why couldn't they put in Squirtle and Bulbasaur too?" illustrates that perfectly. No one seems happy and it's a damned if you do damned if you don't.

People are taking this far too seriously for a game we're all going to end up buying regardless, but who knows what'll happen when it comes out.

They should of just said who was in and who was cut to begin with so we didn't have smash tier roster faggotry for the past 5 months
Don't show the new ones but let the band aid be torn off early so you don't have youtubers making millions of views saying "In this new trailer we just found Ditto, confirming them for the game". That or actually explain what the fuck pokemon home is rather then be vague about it.

I get that the original designs are iconic and a pillar of the brand, but they need to a more substantial revision of the whole Pokédex to at least get the design philosophies in line. Nothing too major, just a small step up from what they’ve been doing over the years anyway, such as when the made Pikachu lose a few pounds. Smooth everybody out, make changes to proportions where needed, and bring everything into either Sugimori’s new style or whatever else they decide that’s still consistent.

Let the designs in the old games stand as they are, and get everything in the new ones on the same page. Maybe they just decided they weren’t ready to do that for this game.

And you can only use one per battle so it's not as if you can have a mix of both. It's like they wanted to have their cake and eat it too with combining the aspects of megas and Z-moves (a special form given to a select few and a universal mechanic given to all) but fucked up halfway through and left us with a useless gimmick nobody's going to use when there's a superior option.

All Dynamax has is some turd clouds, otherwise it's just plus-sized mons, which means nothing since the likes of giant plushies have always been a thing by default.

I know why they're pissed but with how tight lipped they've been it's only natural that people were going to do anything to get their hands on the game. They didn't give us any good information, dexit happened, they kept showing us kanto and everyone got sick of it, the starter evos still hadn't leaked, the 24 hour live stream only showed us one new pokemon, then they kept making new trailers with the same shit again and again. Fuck, if I was in the leakers position I would absolutely fucking leak everything and go mad with power.

Considering pokemon fans want to get the games on release, going in blind knowing how they look now would've been fucking terrible. I can't imagine how pissed people would've been. Now people have seen the horrors within and are able to choose if they want to game or not and I think that scares GF the most. They could've made mad bank off people not knowing where the corners were being cut but now everyone knows and they're getting universally panned. I dont know if pokemon will ever lose money but the next few weeks GF will be sweating bullets.

IDK how much it will kill sales at the end of the day but I know it will be a sore spot that this gen will never outrun when it comes to criticism (especially considering the game is just Sun and Moon 2.0 from everything we have seen so far).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you need specific kinds of pokemon to do that, and I'm not talking about like you need a Lapras, but you need a specific Lapras.

Until we can really get our teeth into it, we can't really judge Dynamaxing as a concept until players flesh it out.

Eh I'm just saying it's totally apparent why GF wanted to keep this shit under wraps, and they look like even big assholes than they did a few weeks ago. Japanese fans in particular are going postal. While die hard fans didn't the take dex cut seriously, Japan didn't even seem to understand what the dex cut was. Seeing that 400 number made people nuts, then realizing only 314 were returned and 1/4 are the literally made up of the most unpopular of the batch.... well shit got real. I mean the outrage is a little much, just don't buy it.

I did some fun statistics. The "curry dex" has 100 entries. So a cooking minigame side mechanic is a whopping 25% of the actual dex's size.

Furthermore, with Go starting to roll out the Unova expansion, it now has more mons present than SWSH does. The first console mainline Pokemon game is having its numbers beat by a mobile installment that still hasn't implemented two entire regions and has only recently started on the latest one.
