I think the general consensus with the shinies is that most of them aren't really that good. Like you said, they kinda focus more on using eye burning color combinations than giving the pokemon a cool new color palette. The few shinies that were given a good combination of colors to their palette really fucking pull it off (Aegislash being a good example).
Most shiny pokemon use a color algorithm to decide their colors, hence you get a lot of brink pinks, bright yellows, and horrible shinies that looks like a mildly different shades of the same color.

Oh yeah, I heard about that. Kinda unfortunate that don't hand craft the shiny sprites. If they did, I feel as if most of them would look a whole lot better than what they do now (with some exceptions).

On a different but related note, the transition to 3D in X/Y messed up quite a few shinies and seemingly sucked the colors out of them.

Crawdaunt goes from a bright orange to what I can only describe as a rotting pumpkin.

Lanturn had a strange but unique purple and green motif but X/Y makes it almost indistinguishable from the original color at a glance.

Togekiss' was already pretty similar but least you could tell the shiny has a creamier shade. That's all but gone in 3D. And no the red and blue triangles changing places doesn't count, you'd never notice that difference normally.

Even in sprite form, the Pokemon look much more alive than the 3D models we have now. Do you lads think the jump to 3D was a mistake?

Not really since it was inevitable. As far back as Diamond/Pearl they were progressively dipping their toes into 3D more and more and by the Unova games the NPCs and Pokemon were about the only things that weren't 3D. Could X/Y have been handled better? Absolutely, but at the time it was at least a little forgivable since they did have to effectively start from scratch and make 3D models for every single species up to that point along with everything else.

Of course, they took that inch of transitioning grace and stretched it to a mile to the point where we now have the first mainline console Pokemon game looking like it was made for a system several generations earlier, thinking they can get away with using the exact same models and shoddy graphical prowess that was acceptable on a handheld.

This is a screenshot taken less than a month from release btw, I don't wanna here the "STILL IN DEVELOPMENT!" excuse.

Replace his sword and shield with an Aegislash

I can't wait for dataminers to blow the lid on how shittily optimized and programmed the game is, its gonna be like Hau'oli City always having a Lillie in the void except with 500ish pokemon for the Wild Area.

Been a while since I've been here, but I figured I'd drop a few fun little tweets from one of the more vocal members of the Dexit Crew:

And his justification.

Now, I'm not one for getting offended, but Distant Kingdom here is either trying to bait people (showing his desperation) or he's one of the biggest idiots of all time.

I would honestly be inclined to think that he was just trying to bait (though it is a pretty bad attempt at bait), but seeing how many messages he has trying to defend his position, I'm guessing it's the latter.

The real prize would be if every Pokemon was still in the coding in some form or another. Just imagine the absolute perfect shitstorm if that were the case. I doubt it since at that point why give up halfway through, but you can't put anything past GF.

This has been the lamest wait for a new Generation ever. I decided months before the release of 7th that I will be in. But this time there has been nothing to excite me.

I don't think they understand their audience any more, or remember what got it there in the first place. Kids have so many other options now, my youngest relative was never much into it because he got handed an xbox and gta at age 7 and got free rein. I don't think pokemon would've lasted long if they started like this.

Damn if they do, damn if they don't. I think gen 5 burned GF so badly that they won't be targeting their older audience again for a long time. And it's not like they hit a homerun with gen 5 either. BW was my favorite of all time but BW2 not so much. In fact I enjoy USUM more than BW2.

BW2 was a great idea...

Had it been released after the launch title of Gen9. Going back and revisiting a region is a great idea, but back to back is a horrible way to do it. The remakes are fine, but I'm never excited for them, however if they announced next year that we were getting Diamond 2/Pearl 2 with Sinnohian forms, new Gigantomaxing, and a new story in the region, with another chunk of the national Dex added in, I'd be really stoked.

Bought Omega Ruby because fuck it, I had a lot of fun with Alpha Sapphire and I fancy playing through Hoenn again. Probably going to play it while I'm on holiday next week and pick up Shield when I get back home (despite everything that's been said, I still plan on buying it).

I can still remember enjoying the original Ruby and Sapphire when they were released and being surprised how everyone was upset that you had to both dive or swim up waterfalls to progress through the games. To me that was two fun new game mechanics that I really cherished playing through to complete the game.

If there was anything that soured me on those two games it was getting a level 5 Beldum at the end of the game. LEVEL 5! Since I couldn't trade with my friends or myself; I felt cheated and decided these two would be the last Pokemon games I would ever purchase. Since then the only time I really check out what's going with Pokemon is when the new games are released, because seeing what the new Pokemon are one of the guilty pleasures in life.

At least BW2 were actual sequels that progressed the story and showed the passage of time (the player's friends from before have aged up and quite a number of locations have changed drastically). USUM on the other hand was a shitty "reimagining" of the first game where little actually changed aside from post-game content and the surfing minigame, and what other little changes there were could be considered innocuous at best to character-butchering at worst. Lillie and Lusamine in particular fall into the latter category.

The inclusion of Ultra Recon Squad was the most baffling for me, I don't understand why they exist, what they do for the story, and why not even one person is like "the fuck are you wearing, wait you come from another dimension?!" I'm not crazy about the other dimension thing but I feel it's not even the slightest bit utilized other than catching Ultra Necrozma, and even that's lukewarm- you can't explore this weird universe at all. Plus they look... washed out.

I liked BW2's contrast between old and new Team Plasma, I felt that added significantly to the story and made me feel for the grunts, we might not have known their names but we know that they changed and tried to better themselves in the two years between games. N comes back to fight against Ghetsis despite being on his side in the first game, he grew up and learned he was wrong and, I can't stress this enough, SHOWED that he did indeed learn from the events in the first game, rather than us being told with yest another exposition heavy info dump.

Distant Kingdom can NEVER admit he screwed up, cause apparently, he's right about everything.

Game Freak is admittedly pretty stupid, but even I doubt they would be this retarded. Even if they did have some the of Pokemon that weren't going to be in the games in the code, it would save them a lot of backlash when the games get datamined and people find out that even those were hidden in there this whole time by just not having them in there at all. Then again, considering all the shit they've done in the past in regards to the coding, it does seem like a place they would screw up in. Feel free to hit me up if it does turns out all of the Pokemon were hidden in the code and I'll take my much deserved L.

The thing I find funnier is not only how he's acting like a victim, but the fact that his fans are defending him like he was literally God, especially considering how if he hadn't made his videos on Sword and Shield, virtually nobody would know or care who he is.
