People say Toby came in at the right time, at the right place. That he got lucky. While I don't agree entirely with that; the release of the game on top of all the youtubers with millions of subs playing it? Yeah, that definitely helped, on top of the already established Homestuck fanbase he had following him. I gotta admit though, the guy comes off as a bit cring in his only live interview. But, I think that perception of mine is coming from a salty place that I wasn't the one who got to meet Sakurai. Or Itoi. Or be acknowledged by god knows how many Japanese artists, at this point.
I ain't jealous, nor mad. Not at all. Nope.

I imagine Toby is a lot like most Indie developers who manage to be successful and not end up with their head in their ass; a bit autistic but overall a decent guy and nice to be around. I haven't been super up to date with his going on's, but I think it's hilarious and heart warming that 4 years ago today Toby was just some smuck who was about to release an Earthbound inspired Indie-Game and now he has one of his characters in one of the most popular fighting games in history (I just hope people don't spurge out on Sakurai over this).

And, yeah, luck may have had a bit to do with it, it often does when rising to popularity, but as someone who has played/ beat Undertale and Deltarune I can tell Toby puts a lot of heart into his games, which is what I like to believe what counts in the long run...Now if he can just get to work on Deltarune.

I thought we were nearing the end of roster speculation, but we're going to be stuck with to for a while. At least this will be the end of Sans shitposting.
And here I am like... where the hell is Travis Touchdown already?
I like Travis, but he can't be made E10+ without losing a lot of his character.

You would have to be an utterly joyless fuck to still be bitching at Sakurai and his team.
Translation of their tweet is "reeeeee I want some flavor of the month made by a company that has had little to no working relationship with Nintendo in one of their biggest franchises". I say good for SNK getting the nod and like almost all of the non Nintendo characters they came from companies that had a part in Nintendo's success or pushed them to try harder.

I want to get into Resident Evil so I was thinking Jill Valentine might be a good pick? Travis too lol
Leon seems like the more relevant pick. RE2 is what put Resident Evil on the map as a franchise, the RE2 remake is the most recent game in the series, and RE4 is considered the best game in the franchise (until maybe the RE2 remake came out), and RE4 is ported to everything.

I’m actually impressed. Most people are just happy Undertale got some form of representation rather than be mad he’s not a full character. I guess because it was never expected to happen more than meme material.

Adding the song too probably helped a lot.

Bayonetta and snake send their regards

Jill got the whole MVC moveset to work tho

I mostly agree, but bayonetta and snake don't have to jerk off their not-lightsaber to 'charge' it up again.
Doesn't rule him out. It may be a part of his game, but so was Snake smoking or Bayonetta getting naked to use her attacks, and they toned it down. If Travis becomes a character, they'll either change his recharge animation to not involve masturbating his sword or just not give him a recharge mechanic.

Bayo’s got the poses and stuff though. And they managed Joker’s final Smash too. It’s not impossible to find a workaround.
Yeah, but those are just poses, it's not like she's getting naked to do them and the "All Out Attack" was really the best choice for Joker's final smash. Toning it down by replacing the blood was no big deal.

Honestly, this might be my favorite reaction.

That’s kinda what I meant. There’s ways around the “jerk off charging” that Travis would be able to get in.

Not saying he will, just that a workaround can be done.
