Piloted Gundam-like mecha? All Walkers I know about are two or multi-legged non humanoid models.

First thing that comes to mind when concerning Gundams and Star Wars is that Transformers+Star Wars toy line from many years back which weren't really part of a story or anything, just some neat toys.

The Millennium Falcon Transformer (from 2006) was sort of gundam-ish and could split up to transform into Han and Chewie. But its not part of the SW universe obviously.

As for in-universe, closest thing to looking like Gundams or mechas in general would be some of the mechanized Zakuul machine gods but those weren't created until 2015 for TORtanic, just before TFA came out. But they're not mechs since they can't be piloted.

It comes from planet Zakuul and fitting to the name of its planet, it looks like a Zaku mobile suit. Kinda... Sorta reminds me of a Z'Gok.

There were also battle droids that could be piloted, but none of them resembled gundams or traditional mechas as far as I know. But a very interesting mecha, at least for me, was the Basilisk War Droid which was used by Mandalorians, although it was more of a small zoid than a gundam.

Or perhaps it was this thing you saw?

The Great Heep was a villain in the 80s Droids cartoon. It was a giant droid that could potentially consume and grow endlessly.
Those Star Wars transformers bring me back. A friend got the Millennium Falcon and Death Star (which transformed into Vader) for his birthday years ago. We never could get the damn things to transform properly (which is probably the main reason I was never really into transformers).

I haven't done it in a while but yeah shitfaced Epcot is expensive but great.

The SD-9 in particular looked like an RGM mobile suit but it wasn't too big.

Thanks! Turns out I think what I saw was an SD-10
Which of course appears to have come after the main films and was NOT from the pre-Phantom Menace period, but maybe that part was just me not reading the section correctly. I hadn't read anything about it being a droid so my brain defaulted to 'piloted robot' - I think G Gundam was on Toonami around the same time or something and of course G Gundam is legit.

Also I forgot to post a pic of one of the hotel windows.

Is that the actual, non-placeholder view? I really hate that style of space art that seems popular right now.

>Excessive bloom.
>Huge atmospheres.
>Trite rainbow clouds always in the background.
>Planets right next to each other.
>Lazy planet texturing.
>Nights sides are never actually dark and have an overly broad/gradient edge.
>Only the night side of planets are ever shown for some reason.

For a period of time growing up, most of what I read & watched was Jesus-Media. This content varied from things sort of in the vein of Veggie Tales where Christian values are taught in a way that isn't explicitly Christian, to stuff that wrapped a more Christ-focused moral in a modern parable, to cringe worthy preaching with injections of hard-core verse quoting where everyone prayed constantly and the day was only saved by the Grace and Blood of Jesus.

This shit reads like the Identity Politics version of that 3rd category, where Jesus is replaced with White Guilt.
And there's the reason why Woke media sucks and has such a high failure rate.

So much this. A good number of people watch movies and otherwise enjoy fictional content as a way to temporarily escape from real life crap. Had a bad day at work? Load up your favorite show on streaming media. Your favorite franchise released a new film? Perfect, it will take your mind off the unexpected major repair bill you paid the day before. To go to a cinema and see a film that turns out not to be fun in any way and instead gets hard-core preachy about current SJW values, current political commentary, and other extraneous real life garbage is a huge turnoff to someone that wants little more than simple entertainment.

For Star Wars specifically, one would think Disney would realize this to be true given the lower than expected numbers for both film viewership and the sale of toys and other tie-in items (comic books, regular books, games, etc). Instead, Disney is quick to ascribe any failures or poor performance on haters, trolls, and anything but their own shortcomings and questionable decision making.

It says a lot when participants in this thread have come up with multiple ideas for a sequel trilogy that would have been feasible and attracted a broad fan base had Disney not been so intent on producing their own woke version of the OT at all costs while behaving in ways that alienated the long-term SW fans that helped make the franchise as popular as it when Disney initially acquired it. A good franchise is one that can be enjoyed by multiple generations or a family that chooses to watch it together. Disney rejects this idea and instead caters to those whose interests are so fleeting that they will abandon the franchise if and when Disney's SW content slows down or goes on any sort of hiatus.

Its not just the rejection, its complete lack of effort that went into shitting on the first six films & EU library. They only bring in Original Characters to kill them off in the lamest way possible, and there's zero pay off for any of the characters from the OT. They should have just had it set 100 years after RotJ if they weren't going to do anything other than pre-death cameos for everyone.

The EU is even worse with the stupid limbo shit. If Disney had gone through the EU and, even at least just been "These books/comics/shows are canon, these books/comics/shows are not, in their current state", they did the most half-assed 'its canon until we say its not, and we can say its not at any point'.

The woketeers were turned lose as a corporate PR move; if they would have been actual believers they would have shown some subtly with the messaging instead of this gay "the force is female" preaching to the choir shit. They let JJ shit up another Sci Fi franchise for really no reason.

If you want to look at media using lightly veiled messaging correctly, look at the Narnia series. The books heavy with Christian themes, morals, and lessons, but only the most eurphoric of atheist+s have any issues with it because they tell entertaining stories without the need to spout Jesus or quote the bible every chapter. CS Lewis had enough faith in the correctness of his message that he didn't feel the need to badger the reader with heavy-handed "Jesus Jesus Jesus" on every page.
If Rey wasn't a complete sue, if Wendig didn't have to go...full Wendig, there wouldn't be nearly as much pushback, but they don't know how to convey anything except 'we're always right and can't even be the least wrong'.

Ripley in Alien/Aliens was not sexualized, was not a dude with tits, and showed very feminine behavior while also taking charge of her fate and in no way being a damsel in distress. No one has any issues with Ellen Ripley or accuses her of being a Sue.

Plus, I find the idea of a bus-based 'transport' between the hotel and GE to be laughable. Unless that's an electric bus made by Tesla, how the fuck are you going to disguise the signature noise of a massive diesel engine? You can only soundproof a bus so much!
Electric buses are absolutely a thing right now. Complete Coach Works can retrofit any chassis with any (especially "alternative") engine. Want a P42DC which runs on deiterium-tritium and orphan tears? They can do it.

And speaking of food, Disney is getting sued because guests found live bugs in their salad at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort a few days ago.

While I've not stayed there, I did visit the Polynesian Village Resort lobby and the "Trader Sam's" Tiki Bar, which was amazing.

Definitely one of the ritziest places I've ever set foot in, so it's ironic something like that would happen there.

Ripley in Alien/Aliens was not sexualized,

That's not really true, Ripley in her tiny space panties in Alien is pretty sexual, albeit it's more about creating a sense of vulnerability, but it's still pretty sexy.

She's also briefly seen in underwear in Aliens as well.

Alien, yes, because the movie has sexual subtext relating to rape. It's not sexualizing her for pornographic reasons. Plus, its only one scene...

Aliens? Yeah, there is a brief transition scene, where she is in her underwear. But, its shot flat, and utterly non-sexual.

The only guys who are masterbating to Ripley to that scene, are ones beating their meat to a Sears catalogue.

Ripley is completely non-sexualized in Aliens. Unless you want to fuck your mom<eyes suspiciously>...

Can we talk about over the recent leaks and how they are all so stupid they might be real?
Leia beating luke on a lightsaber duel training
Fucking force ghost Han Solo
Nothing about Snoke so he truly was no one
Palpy still alive (somehow) and wishing for Kylo Ren and Rey to rule HIS empire together
Force ghost luke actually holding a lightsaber (I only ever saw that in the force unleashed dlc that was non fucking canon)
Force ghost leia and luke actually fucking fighting Palpatine!
And more...Jesus, Jar Jar Abrams! Stop trying to force me to say "I enjoyed TLJ better!"

@GeneralFriendliness
Also, remember those rumors about Disney buying Activision? Well, EA apparently has hired their FIFA boss to manage and oversee their non-sports assets, which are struggling right now. So maybe there’s going to be a scenario where EA sells off their non-sports assets, including the Star Wars license, to someone else, wouldn’t you agree?
Wait Disney is rumored to be buying Activision?
First where did you hear this.
Second holy fuck someone stop them please. I don't want the Mouse to own everything.
Third with how much trouble Disney is in dropping 10's of billions more on Activision seems less like spending money to make money and more like pure lunacy.
And Fourth the idea of Call of Duty finally dying because the Mouse tried to make that of all things "Girl Friendly/Power" is actually kinda of funny...Modern Warfare still looks good though.

This was just wishful thinking from a investor. This rumor isn't true because of two things that I'll bring up again. One, Disney admits to have struggled in the gaming industry and would prefer to just license their content and IPs to various developers and publishers instead. Two, Disney has had its debt ballooned thanks to Fox (which I think they're starting to regret now) and are losing money on streaming, which they are focusing on right now. So I don't think if they even wanted to, they wouldn't have the time to acquire any major video game company. Maybe in three to four years time should they managed to lower their debt they could get back in the video game market.

Now, this may be wishful thinking on my own end as well, but I got a feeling Electronic Arts is going to either sell off or spin off its non-sports assets, including the Star Wars license, to another company like Take-Two (Rockstar's parent company) or Ubisoft. EA is pretty fucked aside from their sports games, which are keeping them afloat, and unless someone takes over the company, I don't see them surviving with the license in the future.

Eh, we're kinda in a wierd period where we can piece together a vague idea of the movie.

But, its clear some of these leaks are probably garbled or misinterpreted.

Its hard to have a strong opinion either way...

I somewhat agree but you see, its very clear they truly dont know how to make Rise of Skywalker works, as we have seen very little of the actual movie in fact...the recent trailer was just shots of the older movies (as if like "hey guys, remember when you actually used to like Star Wars? Before we bought it? Good times...!") and just a few shots of the actual new movie (and dont throw me that garbage of "they dont want to spoil it" or else they wouldnt have shown "Dark Rey" ). Leaks also been showing that test screenings are NOT enjoying the movie at all and they are despered and using all of the ideas to stitch together a "satisfying" conclusion.
Now I dont think all of them are true (not fully at least), but after the last jedi and how Lucasfilms made sure they know they hate us (but not our money) and that they can and will blame us if it fails, Im worried there may be some truth in them.
Edit: oh and it doesnt help that the leaker is kind of famous for giving out mostly accurate leaks. Sooo....yeah.

Guess I'll just play Lego Star Wars TCS some more.

They should have brought David Lynch in if IX was going to be this nonsensical and weird. He could have at least made it entertaining.
